Just finished it. Wonderful drama. Took off one star for the lame couple of episodes before the last one. I do think that a final confrontation with his father and with his gangster bosses was necessary to help our boy get closure and start a new life, but it wasn't handled very well. I also thought that, once our two lovebirds became a couple, there was a loss of spark between them, they acted around each other like a couple of 20 years, bound more by affection and friendship than passion. (Yes, passion does fade with time, but so quickly?) Other than that, I loved watching this, it was very comforting, all the cast did a fantastic job and JCW had a chance to really shine as an actor this time, with a juicy role he could give justice to. Apart from the enjoyment of just looking at him and wondering, how on earth can a man be so perfect?
I'm loving it! Binge-watched the first 18 episodes in 2-3 days in the midst of a very hectic schedule. When will our hero and heroine become a couple? The romance is a bit lukewarm here.
LOL!!! I decided to watch because I like how she sound. I was enchanted by her in Moonlight.
You can see the difference in the last few episodes, when she becomes her true identity. The baby girl voice vanishes. So it seems she does have a normal voice, the baby one is done on purpose to sound more cute and innocent and vulnerable - nearer to the feminine ideal of that part of the world.
It is a good watch but I feel that it should have been no more than 25 episodes...it got draggy for me so I fast…
What you say about her voice is true. It was unsufferable for most of the drama. But it seems that the Chinese public wants their women to be childlike, it's part of the patriarchal culture. Voice apart, though, her character has been shown to be very brave and strong and she makes her own decisions. Which is a plus.
Shallow twat comment! What a stupid thing to say.We want great actors and not based on looks. Perpetuating the…
Is she a great actress, though? I looked her up in Wikipedia and, although I've watched some of the dramas she was in (Crowned Clown, My Fellow Citizens and Witch's Diner), I couldn't remember her - neither her face nor her acting. If she's not a memorable actress, at least let her be a beauty. And a mature one, to match him, like Han Yeseul for instance, or Shin Min Ah.
This male lead is very boring, though. Maybe because he's not a good actor (And not particularly good-looking…
That snarkiness was uncalled for. As you have every right to say that the drama is quite enjoyable for you, I and everyone else also have the right to point out things that we feel are lacking, without us being attacked. I won't engage in more conversation with you, it's not the kind of interaction I enjoy and in my opinion it's also completely useless for both.

Yes, I know you were talking about the character, but sometimes a character can be given life by an outstanding actor. And the opposite. Do they evolve and become better? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sung Hoon has stayed exactly the same throughout his career. He arguably was better in earlier projects (Oh My Venus, Five Children) where he had a secondary role than when he became a male lead. My darling Cha Eun-woo has stayed the same too, no big improvement. Same for Ahn Hyo-seop and Ong Seong Wu. Same for Ki Do Hoon whom I first saw in Once Again and now I'm seeing in Jinxed at First. No development. Maybe if they made the effort to drop their career for a while and spend three years in a good acting school... But that's probably risky for them, they might be forgotten and other, younger actors could take their place. They already have a very small window until they go to the army and then they are in their '30s.
Started this not knowing if it would be good but so far enjoyable have to say tho if she aint gonna be with her…
The problem is that she very obviously doesn't see him like a man. At all. Generally speaking, when you want to know who the girl is going to end up with, look at the posters and the order of the actors' names on the official releases. Here both guys are in the poster, but Chani's name is before the other guy's in every list.
