Is this a new trend where writers cannot do a proper ending for a couple? I thought that in 1 hour and 17 minutes, you could put a heartbreak, breakup, and reconciliation in a good distribution. Don't get me wrong; I do like the ending because they got back together, but it is another "so where's the happy scenes?" and I'm kind of getting tired of it. Also, what happened in the end to Ahn Woojae and his wife? For me making them back together in the last 5 minutes is not a satisfactory ending but overall, I liked this drama. Shin Minah ate this role and Kim Youngdae also. The sisters were likable and their story was interesting. Just, I hoped that the ending could be better 🫡
I’ve caught up to episode 10, but starting from the beginning SHY story is sad. Her mother was a good person but not a perfect mother. She did provide her with basic needs but I don’t think there was any scene where SHY could have felt save and loved. I’m not surprised that she turned out to be the person that she is right now and in the episode 10 and 9 bombshells just kept falling at her, her scream at jiuk just released it all. Only shame that at the end she was hurt again.
I've never been this terrified to watch a cdrama, but this one... I beg BEG the writers to not do the ending as it is in the novel. I'm still traumatized from reading it. I really hope so, the trauma that this ending gave me. For me it was not happy at all. I think they might show him tortured and later when Song Ran finds him in a bad state, and later on his PTSD but I hope it's not as deep as it is in the book. Even though they had children, how can he truly be happy? It seemed like he only existed in this world but he was dead inside.

I don't know if you have ever read another romance Chinese novels but sometimes (idk if I only see this), but after couples get together all they do is get "freaky" like FREAKY especially the man. Suddenly they see boobs and underwear and be like some silly teenagers and sometimes it really puts me off. like the heck. Cuddles do exist - but it feels like Chinese authors are trying to execute the biggest number of done deeds and it's weird. This novel might not be completely it, but in different ones especially rom coms it is visible af.

It was really good. Especially the acting of the main leads in sad scenes, I did not expect them to be as good but gotta say the MVP of this drama was Zhao Feng Gang. He was so sweet and caring but simultaneously devoured the enemies to lovers with Rao Jing. Would it be too much of a statement to say they were more exciting for me than JYH and TXN? like no offense to them, but this cutesy trope in the office is a bit too boring for me (like it was too perfect from the start), also I'm a bigger fan of main characters like Rao Jing, but nonetheless neither of them disappointed and it was a great drama to get away from life.
Ep 18/ I hope this petty btch Tang will get her karma someday also I think Karlina really suits long straight hair and not updo and especially dark colors. Wish she had more color pallets like this, she looks more mature like that and somehow fitting.

same! I just finished episode 10 and it is truly cuteness overload. I came here from The Double and also monitored the comments here to see whether to expect more or less, but surely I love it! I only skip some things (I really crave the scenes between leads) but ngl I'm surprised how they went with the story of the second leads. I like that this is not like REALLY childish but it is very well-balanced.
Truly it deserves the rating that it has. It took a few episodes to get into it, but past episode 19, the drama is fully on. My only wish is that they would include more romantic scenes between leads. The chemistry was off the charts, with Wang Xing Yue portraying Duke Su like he was created for that role. The plot was plotting like YES. I only have one thing I could be disappointed and it is FL acting. She was really okay in sassy scenes, but when it came to sad or angry scenes it really lacked for me. You could not feel the sincerity. Overall, really recommend it. Definitely on the shelves with other top historical dramas for me.
