Well, she is a tragic character, forever blinded by either her want for her father's approval or revenge. Never…
It was sad for me because of ZZH's ultimate sacrifice due to his unwavering love/attachment/loyalty? to CSJ, even in the face of her cold detachment or was it lukewarm by the end... He sacrificed so much, holding onto the hope that maybe, just maybe, she felt something real for him. But CSJ... she doesn’t even understand love, let alone reciprocate it. Even in his final moments, when most people would want some sign of affection, some closure, ZZH didn’t get that. She couldn’t even give him words of comfort. And yet, he still entrusted her with his most vulnerable wish, to care for his mother. This is also tragic because we know the truth: someone as cold, arrogant, and power-obsessed as CSJ would never have the capacity to truly care, let alone protect anyone.
LK wants the blood pearl, which has the map to the treasures of Gulistan. He probably had DW kidnapped again to…
End of episode 35, DW already assigned the new shop openings and management to Yunxiu and Ying Tao, maybe she'll hire some of the songstress to manage the other shops. I doubt we'll get much detail. What competition?
With how the pacing is going, I'm guessing that they could probably combine DW's rescue and the bandit fight, leading to LK's demise into one epic, high-stakes battle sequence. It’d be a bold move, but knowing how they like to pack a punch, it’s definitely on the table. Then send off Prince Ying, in a dramatic walk of shame - chains, receipts/proof and all to the Emperor. From there, a swift report on how the guilty princes meet their fate (death or exile) feels likely. I hope that the director and writers choose wisely on which plotlines to focus on with more detail and which ones to move through quickly. Fingers crossed they nail the balance.
I don't quite understand why the hooded man chose to kill him off. I know they needed a scapegoat for the stolen…
I'm guessing that LK likely sees ZZH as a loose cannon, running around with stolen goods and the Zheng seal, a potential powder keg for his carefully laid plans. He probably suspects ZSY already tipped off his son about the 16-year-old Yan massacre, which Prince Ying is desperately trying to keep under wraps. If ZZH falls into ZJR’s hands, the whole cover-up could come crashing down.
Meanwhile, ZSY and Zheng family is still a valuable asset for LK because he’s the key to moving the current and future stolen goods. On top of that, LK is probably scrambling to clean up loose ends, hoping to keep Prince Ying pacified. Maybe he thinks if he plays his cards right, Prince Ying will spare him and the Zheng family from retaliation. But this is turning into a dangerous race to bury the truth. If the Emperor catches wind, especially through ZJR’s investigations, that the princes and these merchants have been conspiring to deceive him, it’s going to be ‘off with their heads’ for all involved. At least I hope so...
As for CSJ, it’s messy. They did try to burn her alive, so maybe LK assumed she was done for and moved on. But now? She might be next in line in LK's hit list. Her exact role in the bigger picture is still unclear to me.

Same, I would like to binge watch the rest. I'm thinking they went after DW because she will be easier to trap vs YZJ, since she is often lead by her emotions and loyalty to her people. She's YZJ's weakness, I'm guessing she's up for ransom.
I take back my comment about CSJ… I’m commenting as I watch … CSJ IS EXACTLY WHO WE THINK SHE IS LIKE SOMEONE…
It seems like the writers never intended for CSJ to have a redemption arc. She’s written as a female antagonist, purely driven by ambition, hatred, anger, and revenge. On the other hand, ZZH gets the redemption arc because his story is more about being trapped by the Zheng family’s evil web. He wanted out but was bound by the chains of his mother's fate and CSJ's obsessive need for revenge. CSJ ultimately became his undoing, but her character never showed signs of remorse or self-reflection. Guilt and regret just weren’t part of her emotional repertoire.
I felt that the finger kiss scene is an emotional masterpiece wrapped in artistry. Every detail speaks volumes: the soft, intimate lighting, their words, their positions. YZJ leaning over DW, who gazes up at him like he’s her entire world. The moment he hesitates, conflicted, and pulls back, you can feel the weight of his guilt and fear. But DW doesn’t let him retreat, her kiss, blocked by her own thumb, says everything: longing, passion, hope, and love so intense it breaks through, yet restrained by the pain and doubt they both carry. It’s breathtaking how ZL and LYN poured so much depth into this moment, effortlessly blending vulnerability with raw, unspoken emotions. This scene isn't just acted; it's felt.
What is going on here? Folks fleeing and scurrying about like mice. Come on...do we think ZZH is dead? I don't…
Uhm ZZH got skewered like a premium shish kebab. I don't think he'll be making a comeback. ZJR found his body and confirmed his death. But he's alive in CSJ's dreams. lol I was hoping she'd go insane... I wasn't impressed by her reaction during that scene.
Its gotten sloppy, they didn't even explain how ZSY found them.
ZZH and CSJ? ZZH went to buy buns, accidentally... showed his face in the market. Someone saw him, tailed him, and then showed ZSY's servant where they were hiding.
