are there kiss scenes in this one? how's the romance? the other hit Cdrama had no kiss scenes for the leads!
Multiple kiss scenes, romantic scenes, best kiss scenes in second half. For me, the romantic scenes and kisses in this drama were one of the best ones I've seen in c-drama so far. Beats WRTW and Hidden Love's romantic scenes by a slight margin, because LYN knows exactly what he’s doing—hands perfectly placed, arms wrapped just right, foreheads touching, zero awkward gaps. You can practically feel the tension, warmth, and intimacy. ZL and LYN’s natural ease with each other takes their already scorching chemistry and makes it feel so real, it’s like watching love happen in real time.
Very beautifully written. Thank you. It's a very "don't take life for granted" and "live every moment like it's…
Not LYN, he's all about the alien or something about sweet enough for toothache or bitter you'll loose weight. Definitely looking forward to checking out his next live stream. I meant ZL, didn't she say HE or was it sweet ending.

I feel that ZL said happy ending because in their last scene YZJ finally fulfills DW's deepest wish - for YZJ to never leave her and stay by her side until the end. His ring on her finger isn't just a symbol of love; it's his declaration that he chose her, just as she chose him. LYN mentioned in one of his live stream that YZJ's deepest desire/wish is love. And he finally realized how much DW loves him when he found out that DW knew about his poison all along. That she did everything she could to find his cure... and she chose to give him lasting memories despite her heartbreak... starting with their portrait. Also, DW told him she wants to spend time with him, to travel, see the mountains and rivers. When Clear Mind won the competition, she thought of the people who died in her life, Shrimp, her mom, Loud, and Cao Da, but not YZJ. Maybe YZJ was with her, for a short time, during the 40 years of traveling.
It's such a beautiful story because it’s not about forever, which is impossible—it’s about the moments they made infinite.
The ending made every moment precious and worth it. A Walk to Remember left a lasting impression on me, but The Story of Pearl Girl takes it a step further, its finale is unforgettable. Duan Wu and Yan Zi Jing were dealt some of the harshest cards in life, yet they played them with fierce determination. They didn’t just survive, they lived and loved with all they had, defying every hardship thrown their way.
In the end, their dreams weren’t just fulfilled; they were brought to life in each other’s embrace. Their time together may have been fleeting, but it was luminous, filled with memories that eternity itself couldn’t erase. Their story showed something profound: life is brief, fragile, and unpredictable. But in the moments we do have, we can choose to love deeply, live boldly, and create something timeless. Duan Wu and Yan Zi Jing didn’t just exist - they made every second count.

Your preference for logical precision is clear. For me, storytelling isn’t always about tidy resolutions and perfect systems. Life is messy, unpredictable, and deeply flawed, so why shouldn’t nuanced narratives reflect that? Those moments that seem 'illogical' might actually be deliberate choices to dive into emotional depth, human imperfection, or the way flawed systems resonate with our own experiences. It’s not about oversimplification; it’s about mirroring life’s complexities and making the story feel real, raw, and impactful.
We all have different tastes, and that’s fine. I’m here for the fun of sharing perspectives and engaging in discussions. That said, if inconsistencies and lack of control in the justice system drive you up the wall, avoid anything about Pablo Escobar. You’ll end up screaming into the void over the sheer ineptitude of authorities at every possible level, local, national, international, because apparently, the man could waltz in and out of prison like it had a revolving door. And that’s a true story.
I also think ZJR’s character growth has been outstanding. He’s handling DW’s rejection with dignity and…
At first I felt he was too pompous, with a black and white view of the world and of life. But his growth was authentic and relatable. He has become one of my favorite 2ML as well.
Watch Liu Yuning's drama A journey to loveNot only both ML and FL died, but all the main characters also died..
I already took a peek at the ending... saw lots of deaths but didn't realize they were all main characters lol I'll still watch it to the bitter end, on Valentine's day. 😆
Unfortunately, there were huge mistakes made in this episode as well. The scriptwriter and director, or the person…
Here's my view of the events: 1. "House arrest" isn’t a magical lock. If he wants to sneak out, he’s not exactly asking for permission. Disguise + audacity + money = escape plan.
2. The masked guys with swords? Definitely not your run-of-the-mill servants. Pretty sure they scream mercenaries or, better yet, bandits on LK's payroll.
3. See #2—masked men with swords? Yeah, those aren’t your friendly neighborhood servants who refused to commit murder. They’re hired muscle, plain and simple. Maybe LK’s personal bandits-for-rent. He got a discount because they're long time 'friends'.
4. Why would ZJR bother taking anything or even assigning surveillance? House arrests come in various terms, and not all include round-the-clock babysitting. But if he did assign surveillance… well, see #1.
5. Duan Wu is loyal, fiery, and fiercely human. Waiting around wasn’t an option when she thought Gramps might not make it to morning tea. She did the same thing when Yunxiu went missing. That makes her actions flawed but grounded.
Final thoughts: If the guy has already lost everything, what’s left to lose? Sit back, enjoy his house arrest spa day? Nah. He’s going full villain mode, no more hiding - chaos, fire, and a healthy dose of vengeance.
