The characters were so dynamic and chose their paths, knowing full well that every choice comes with a price. Zijing, in the end, found his version of happiness, though he chose to complete his revenge. Justice for his family was his priority, even though he did allow himself to embrace love. What makes his story so poignant is that the woman he adored, despite everything, chose to forgive him, to love him in return, and to stand by him.
Death, after all, is the most inevitable chapter of life. But how Zijing faced it was entirely his decision, and Duan Wu honored that with a quiet, unyielding respect, loyalty, and love. Her strength wasn’t just in enduring his loss but in the way she continued to live, to carry forward all they had shared. Her resilience became the ultimate tribute to the life they built together, however fleeting it was.
I like to believe their souls found each other again - like the purple stars that shone in their sky, forever bound by something greater than death. This drama is a reminder that even endings can hold a certain beauty if we choose to see it.
They are so cute!!! 😍😍😍BTS giving us better angles and longer kisses. Imagine the other reels they didn't…
Yes! There should be believable desire in the acting. It's in the delivery of the scene. Whispered lines paired with the right body language, intense expression, and perfect camera angle can carry more heat than a physical touch. In Bridgerton, the scene where Anthony Bridgerton whispered the words "You are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires" to Kate... lord have mercy. There was no explicit skinship or even a kiss in that scene... would be good study material for the actors 😆

I'm so used to English films and shows like GOT and Bridgerton that adapting to the censorship in C-dramas has been a journey. I've heard about some birds kissing in some drama and that would have been a WTH moment for me. 😆Dou Zhao has memories of her first life as a married woman, given it was to a loser who prefers 'other' females, so Zhao being oblivious to Mo's desires have funny and cute moments. Still, a part of me wishes for more scenes of drunken Zhao who loses her inhibitions and playfully teases Mo... in totally 'censorship-approved' scenes.
Here is the drunk bed kiss scene (eng subbed): https://youtu.be/JsUK5Xwtk7YMore BTS links are in the discussion…
His giggles at the end ❤️I feel that the BTS of the kiss scenes have better camera angles. Then the director’s all, 'Flip to the other side!' and boom, we’re stuck staring at the back of his head or trying to see through a bed curtain... Like, no, sir, I respectfully decline! Don’t flip or hide - zoom in!
The edit of one of the kiss scene in bed was off, and you could tell. Smh
Lol. I actual rewound that part multiple times to check if blinking made me miss a part of the kiss scene. Nope just bad editing. And that curtain hiding their heads at the end? It's a shame cause I thought their chemistry is good and she was a very playful drunk 🤭
I heard she lost great amount of weight this year bcs of some new food allergies and it caused her weight loss…
For someone who claims to be 37, you sure do love playing intellectual hopscotch. If you've heard this PS argument "many times," then you'd also know it's been debunked, repeatedly, with actual facts, and direct statements from the actress herself. Not to mention legal actions are underway. Now tell me, are you suggesting the actress is out there filing false lawsuits just for kicks? That’s quite the conspiracy theory. Do you moonlight as a detective? Don't quit your day job and maybe it’s time to pump the brakes on the nonsense.
You’re clinging to this PS "theory" like it’s the last lifeboat on the Titanic. And you post here pretending to care about her well-being while simultaneously smearing her character with claims that have been disproven. It's like saying, 'I'm worried about you, but also, I think you're shady.' Pick a lane. Because right now, you’re driving straight into Hypocrisy Boulevard with a flat tire.
Also, can we talk about how aggressively you bash anyone who dares to disagree with your 'factual opinion'? Newsflash: opinions aren’t facts—no matter how loudly you shout them from your imaginary high horse. All this does is show the rest of us what you truly are: narrow-minded, bitter, and desperate for validation.
Honestly, if you’re gonna act like a righteous internet detective, at least keep up with the evidence. Otherwise, this childish, ignorant behavior is just embarrassing for someone who's (allegedly) been on this planet for 37 years. Grow up, log off, and maybe, just maybe, learn to recognize the difference between facts and your own fiction.
Should I start this or the story of pearl girl??? I have heard both have almost same story .
It's not the same story. I enjoyed TSOPG but couldn't get into this one. Depends on your preference. Try both and see for yourself. If you're unsure which to focus on first, I'd recommend you start with the first few episodes of each, then you'll know which one resonates with you.
I've been watching Zhao Lusi's dramas, and I'm disappointed that her recent ones haven't been good. Her last hit…
Zhao Lusi’s success is the result of her undeniable talent, charm, kind and honest personality, and relentless hard work. She's maturing as an actress, building versatility by working with diverse casts and scripts, including seasoned actors, directors, and crew who can elevate her craft. Why should she limit herself to younger co-stars? Your "fan" suggestion is contradictory: you criticize her for not taking risks yet want her to stick to the same formula. Ridiculous.
Youth doesn’t guarantee innovation, and learning from veteran actors is a smart, long-term move to appeal to broader audiences beyond surface-level idol fans. Also, your claim about her recent dramas flopping? Fact-check yourself - they’ve been well-received both domestically and internationally. Calling her recent dramas “not good” because they don’t fit your personal taste is not a critique - it’s a tantrum. Zhao Lusi is growing, adapting, and playing the long game. Who are you to assume she isn’t working hard when she’s consistently delivering? Your criticisms lack insight and miss the bigger picture.
So, if you're an actual "fan". Maybe let Zhao Lusi grow and thrive in her way instead of reducing her accomplishments to “luck.” She’s building a legacy, making smart, bold choices, and impressing audiences globally. Whether you’re on board or not, she’s thriving - and the world is taking notice.

Me too. They were always teasing each other. I loved their scenes. I believe Yang Yang is competitive in real life while Lusi is very good-natured so chemistry was also obvious in the BTS.
The bit where they mention that DW smashed the blood-stained pearl, was that actually shown or did I miss this?…
It was shown that DW smashed it. It was the scene where she shows up alive after Zeng thought she died. Also, DW and YZJ gave the map to the treasure to the Emperor.
Ok i'm here again bc I rewatched some parts before moving on but I was thinking about how this whole poison thing…
I love their last scene too. I see it as a foreshadowing of how he dies. When a faint hope of a cure and a life with Duan Wu appeared, Yan Zi Jing let himself dream beyond revenge. But fate, ever the drama queen, had other plans, years of searching ended with a dead witch doctor and no cure. Duan Wu tried too, but life said, "Nice try." Did Li Kui truly hold the cure? Would it even have worked after years of poison eroding Zijing's body? Guess we'll never know. And you're right, there is a saying "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."
Also does anyone have recommendations of similar enemies-to-lovers dynamics in dramas (c-drama or k-drama)? I…
1. The Romance of Tiger and Rose - not as dark as TSOPG, but Ding Yu Xi did well in portraying a morally grey conflicted ML. 2. Who rules the world - FL and ML are in competition with each other rather than completely enemies to lovers but really good chemistry

Is there a site you can recommend for web series?
