Oh come on , the CGI is far better than Ten miles of peach blossoms, for example . I think it's on the same level…
I agree, it is much better than some others, the CGI is definitely not bad but I remember other dramas having better CGI? I might just be remembering incorrectly aha. I am in no way insulting this drama, it is so so good :)) It seems to be a drama that is finally similar to Eternal Love and Love and Destiny in terms of quality and plot which I am quite excited about :))
Great actor! I am loving his acting in Love and Redemption, but I honestly didn't expect him to be 30! He looks so young and handsome :)) I can't wait for his future dramas, they look quite promising <3
I’m loving the drama so far! The plot is so promising and interesting. Honestly I have been missing Xianxia dramas for a while, finally a good one has began airing (More are expected later in this year and in 2021, i'm so excited!). Although the CGI isn’t the best, I have found myself loving many of the visuals, martial arts and costumes! Also, their romance is so adorable so far, I’m happy that although only a few episodes have been released, we can already see their romance blooming :)) Also, I’m happy that we have finally got another drama with a powerful FL, although she is weak rn, we can see that she will probably become one of the most powerful characters once she regains the memories of her true identity. This is my first time watching one of Cheng Yi’s dramas, while watching I got Li Hong Yi vibes from his acting, his is quite a talented actor. While waiting for more episodes I will check out his other dramas. I can’t wait for the future episodes! :))
Sun Mo (Btw I love Si Yu's acting, I honestly think he is quite talented and so so handsome!)and Nong Ying were my favorite couple in this drama (Their relationship took so long to progress too! As soon as they both expressed their feelings and were going to have their happy ending Nong Ying died! :((), I was honestly so upset to see how their relationship ended. Throughout the whole last episode I couldn't seem to feel happy because even though all the other couples were getting their happy endings, we saw how Sun Mo was sadly reciting poems to Nong Yings grave, which honestly made me feel so sorry for him! :( I know it is expected to have some deaths in historical dramas but I really wasn't expecting their ending!
So handsome! I honestly loved his character more than the ML in Fake Princess, I loved his background story and his own love story (His acting made is really good). I hope he gets a main role in a high budge drama in the future! :)
I've came to a conclusion: people with ADHD/short attention span- should not touch Chinese historical dramas.…
I suppose but I think they will only have those issues with longer Historical dramas. Shorter Chinese historical dramas have less characters and the plots are less confusing for people who are not used to longer Chinese historical dramas.
I love finding out about things like these. As someone who has yet to decide about her future, these stories teach me that sometimes it takes a few tries to find something that you are good at or would love to do in the future. Your first job may not be the thing you will be doing your whole life and that's okay :))
There are some great recommendations here, I have seen most that are listed but ones that I have not yet seen I will check out later :). I like this topic a lot, many of these types of dramas/movies can be quite emotional to watch which I enjoy.
Ones mentioned that I highly suggest are: The Story of Ming Lan, Kazoku Game, Tonbi, and Mother.
Historical dramas are the ones I start with the most enthusiasm and hope only to get 5 or so episodes in and have…
Yanxi Palace is one of the best aha. If you liked Yanxi palace I recommend you give Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan a try, the plots are not really similar but I get the same feel from those dramas so you may enjoy it. Other dramas I think you may end up enjoying are: Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures (A side story) The Princess Wei Young (Tragedy but so so worth watching) The Legend of Hao Lan (Many of the cast from Yanxi Palace appear here)
These dramas might warm you into historical dramas :))
I'm watching him in The Sleepless Princess, he is so adorable! I'm honestly starting to feel a slight amount of second lead syndrome :( I really love his acting, I hope that in the future once his skills have improved (Since 2015 they have improved a lot!) he can have a lead role in a drama! I will be watching out for it :)))
I'm honestly loving this drama but i'm lightly hating the lack of trust and communication between them lol. Despite this I think that they have an adorable relationship, as a fan of Cold Man/ Warm Woman dramas I really really like this one because the ML is actually cold most of the time and not only cold for a few episodes lmao (If you know other dramas like this please recommend them). I just binge watched the first 14 episodes and I can't wait for more :)))
As a big historical drama fan(Mainly Chinese though), I relate to MANY of the things you have said here, but unlike other people, I seem to quite enjoy the political side of these dramas. There have been dramas like Yanxi Palace and The Royal Nirvana that featured a lot of the political side of the story (Despite also having a large amount of romance), and I ended up becoming very interested in that part of the plot. I feel like these parts of dramas interest history lovers (Like me aha) more than watchers who want the romance, but luckily Chinese dramas commonly center the plot on the Romance of the main couple(s) :) I began watching historical dramas last year, I have always enjoyed watching longer dramas (24+) due to being used to Western dramas aha. I have honestly never liked dramas with martial arts but after watching dramas like The Untamed and Ashes of Love I began to love them! A lot of them are so well done and it makes the drama so much more entertaining to watch :))Also, the costumes! Even in low budget dramas I am often in awe of how beautiful they look (Especially when I see actors like Luo Yun Xi, Yang Zi, Zhao Lu Si, Li Hong Yi and Bai Lu wearing them, I think they look so elegant!).
