Went out on a whimper
This one started off so well and it had so much potential. Then for some reason the writers decided they wanted it to become a melodrama so we had like 3 episodes of unnecessary drama instead of getting actual rom-com moments. The final episode felt too rushed, especially since episode 11 felt like a waste of time. I'm really disappointed because I really liked the cast and story and in the beginning I was so excited because I thought this would end up being a great rom-com drama, but I should have known better than to trust kdrama writers. They inserted the same old tropes that I am sick of and yeah, annoying. Disappointing. I still enjoyed it up until like ep 7-8? But after that, it just got worse and worse and by the final episode it was too late to salvage it.Was this review helpful to you?

Really fun and at times touching
This was so much better than I expected. I don't have any experience with Taiwanese dramas, but this one was great. I enjoyed the acting and most of the storylines of the main characters.I thought the older sister's storyline was the weakest, but it wasn't bad, just not as strong. The brother's storyline was the best to me. I didn't expect it and when it happened yeah, it really worked. Not a perfect drama, but it really worked for me and I'll be checking out more Taiwanese dramas for sure.

Cute but kinda boring
This was okay, but I just wish there was more that happened. There wasn't anything in this besides the main couple's story and while they were cute together and I thought the actors had chemistry, there just wasn't enough to make 28 episodes of just them entertaining. After they got together, I was honestly just bored. There were some minor side storylines, but none of them were interesting enough and when the focus is on the leads to this extent, you're not really that invested in side characters and their drama. At least, that's how I felt.Anyway, cute couple and that's about it.

Ugh
I am very late to this cdrama because this didn't really appeal to me until a couple of days ago when I finished watching The First Frost and saw that this was sort of connected to it. I don't normally like cutesy female leads who can barely talk like a normal human being and this had exactly that. We start off with 8 episodes of the teen FL pining after the ML. These episodes were so boring and cringy and just kind of strange at the same time. I'm not sure why they focused so much on their interactions when she was underage. At least they changed the child that was playing the FL in the beginning cause that was super weird. Tbh even with the actress change later on, it was borderline creepy at times because the actress was doing this ridiculous voice that made her sound like a child. So I was just weirded out by their interactions. I pushed through since I can get over some dubious shit in dramas and I can ignore it somewhat if it's not too much. So I got through these 8 episodes and finally made it to the adult life bits excited to finally see some actual romance. And um, the same childish cutesy behaviour is there. Unlucky me I guess.I still persisted and hoped that the romance would make up for the first 8 episodes. And nope. The romance is bad. I didn't really buy their chemistry. The fixation on the age thing seemed so strange. He's 5 years older, not 50. Although based on the immaturity of the FL, I guess the age difference seems larger and more significant. I don't think him falling for her was shown properly. They have some interactions and all of a sudden he likes her I guess. He wasn't really conflicted, didn't hesitate at all and just went for it. His flirting was so cringy lol. I guess when you don't buy the chemistry, it's bound to seem cringy. And the FL is still acting in the same way as before. It's so jarring, at times it honestly seems like she might have some developmental disability. Feels pretty harsh, but that's how it looked like to me.
Anyway, I still persisted and wanted to keep watching to see what this relationship will look like once they start properly dating. And ugh. I think their relationship is so weird. Her juvenile behaviour is so jarring and him being attracted to her when she is so childish is giving me the ick. I also really hate the way he keeps bending over to study her face from up close, it's so odd lol. I genuinely think that if she had an adult woman's voice and behaviour, it would make this much less weird and tolerable.
Now I'm at the end of episode 18 and I can't persist anymore. He's just bent over AGAIN to get close to her face and talk to her like he's talking to a child and that was the final straw. I can't take these two anymore, it's time to drop it and move on to something I'm actually enjoying.
I knew I wouldn't like this back when this first came out and everyone was raving about it. Nothing about this appealed to me and my instincts were right. I blame The First Frost for this lol. If I hadn't liked it, I would have never watched this.

My favourite drama ever probably
I love this drama. I love the setting, the characters, the story and just everything really. I do get the complaints about Ji-ho in the last few eps, I really get it, I didn't like it either. However, I love the rest so much that I can just ignore it and forget it ever happened lol. The couple from this show is probably my favourite drama couple ever, I loved how they talked and interacted with each other, ugh I just loved everything about this drama. The secondary characters were also solid and entertaining and I really liked them. Everything was just perfect to me. 10/10.Was this review helpful to you?
Way too long and overstuffed with uninteresting characters
Why did this need to be this long? And why did we have so many side characters when they were so uninteresting? In the beginning I could see some potential, I was on board and then as the episodes went by I started to just become bored and frustrated. There were so many uninteresting storylines with random characters that I just didn't care about. Especially the storylines with the female lead's sister. I just could not stand them. The female lead's ex-husband was so annoying, but he was funny at least I guess so I didn't mind him. Now, the male lead's mother was also something else. Just too frustrating. Then we had our 2 leads. I honestly didn't think they had any chemistry. I was hoping I'd see it when they eventually fall in love, but nope. I also didn't really think they were a good match. The male lead was very immature and despite being 26, he had the maturity of a 16 year old at times. I don't buy that a woman like the female lead would ever fall for such a guy. There was a secondary romance in this and that couple was actually cute and had some chemistry so I guess that was positive.
Overall, I don't think any of the actors were bad or anything, this just didn't work for me and I didn't care about it. It was way too long and I was not invested in most of the storylines. And also, I was here for the romance mainly and that was very weak and dry. This is probably more like a 5, but I'll give it a 5.5 because I liked the second couple and those 2 characters.

Trying too hard to make people cry
After reading the description for this drama I had high hopes because it seemed interesting. Especially since I've enjoyed most of the cast in the past as well, but this was so disappointing. The writing just felt too contrived. Their focus was on making people cry and not writing a good story. I didn't even cry once. Like genuinely, it was so blatant that it took me out of the story. It's like they were asking: Are you crying yet? No? Well, here's more misery porn. Very disappointing. Was this review helpful to you?
Repetitive music and contrived drama
Every single drama I've seen that's been directed by this man has garbage contrived drama at the end. Is it that hard to write something that's not so contrived? Maybe it's just a cultural difference, but I just couldn't be bothered to care about the drama. The subject itself is very culturally Korean so I took that into account, but this was just annoying. This director also needs to listen to a lot more music. The repetitive songs got on my nerves here like in all his other kdramas. Just change it up man. Or just don't use music at all. I'd rather have silence over the same song in every scene.
On the flip side, I did like the romance until the nonsense drama started. I thought they were cute together and had chemistry. Sadly, there just wasn't enough of that to improve this drama for me. Disappointing.

A bit uneven but overall worth watching
I didn't expect this to be as good as it was. I think it was a bit uneven with some episodes being great and others considerably weaker. I feel like episode 2 was the strongest and then there were other strong episodes like 1, 5, 8 and 10. The other episodes were okay or below average like episode 3 and 4. I really enjoyed how we saw main characters from certain episodes in the background in other episodes and I think that was a fun element of the story. While it wasn't a perfect drama, I enjoyed it a lot and the concept overall. Was this review helpful to you?
This is how you do a romcom!
Finally a proper romcom! No ridiculous random breakups right before the final episode, no useless love triangle, no secret childhood connection revealed right before the end, no random serial killer plot added for no reason, no random amnesia and just overall no things that really annoy me in other supposed romcoms lol. This was just a breath of fresh air. I loved Ahn Bo-hyun in this, I had no idea he could be this funny and ridiculous. It worked perfectly for this drama. I really liked the 2 leads and enjoyed their chemistry. I feel like most characters were likeable here. Even the ones I was supposed to dislike, I liked disliking them if that makes sense.
Also, Bomshik has to be the cutest dog I have ever seen in a kdrama! That scene at the vet during the rain was also possibly the hottest scene in a kdrama. A shirtless hot guy holding the cutest puppy. Yeah, it's hard to top that.
So yeah, overall this is a super enjoyable romcom and I will miss it. This is definitely going on my rewatch list for when I am in the mood for something relaxing and cute.

What a drag
I am baffled by the way this story was told. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to buy this main couple when their interactions were mostly just them staring sadly at each other and sighing with the occasional wrist grabbing. There was so much potential here, but this story dragged so much. Endless scenes of no dialogue or dialogue that the characters took ages to utter. I have liked both main actors in other dramas and think they could have done much better with a better script. There was some chemistry there, but it was completely wasted and I actually bought the secondary couple a lot more than the main one. They actually enjoyed each other's presence and had fun together instead of just moping and being sad together. This should have been a lot shorter than it was or 16 episodes, but with a much better script and interactions between the main characters. Very disappointed in this. Was this review helpful to you?
Great characters
This was really great. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I loved the vibes of the 90s, the story and especially the characters. Kang Tae-poong is genuinely one of my favourite male characters I've ever watched in kdramas. He's flawed, but SO likeable. Lee Jun-ho did such a good job and I've liked him in the past in other roles, but I feel like this one is his best one yet. He's really such a good actor. Kim Min-ha was new to me, but really enjoyed her performance too and her character as well. I was rooting for these 2 characters so hard and I think the actors had great chemistry. I loved them separately and together! Super cute romance.I also really liked the supporting characters. Their families, the employees, their friends, they all added an extra layer to this world and it was so satisfying seeing them grow. You found yourself rooting for almost everyone. Even a misogynist lol. The villain was really pathetic though, that's the only character that I wasn't rooting for.
That being said, I did feel that it dragged at times and perhaps they could have tidied up the story a bit, but overall I had a great time watching this and felt sad when ended and I had to say goodbye to these lovable characters.
