Yes of course I would have preferred a romance here, especially with such a cast, there are quite a few new actors…
Some people prefer actions and other genres to romance too.... Other genres also deserve good and rising cast. I personally way prefer dramas like this to romance but i don't go complaining for no reason when my favs film a romance drama...

Wait I just looked back at the movie cast, and I am pretty sure that Kainuma was the main villain there and had nothing to do with the police. I guess the movie changed a lot from the manga. HOWEVER, one thing is similar and is that they both died the same way in front of a mirror. Don't tell me this Kainuma also hated Maki that much and was imagining him when killing himself.... Cause that would legit destroy him. I mean we did see him mouth something to the mirror before killing himself although we couldn't hear it, so there is a high possibility this is the case.
This would also make Suzuki "killing himself" make even more sense since he cares about Maki and wouldn't want him to see that. Obviously that is only if the movie was similar to the manga since I haven't read the original material.
Edit: actually watching the preview of next episode, I am more confident that that is the case..... Why thooo??

On another note, I love Suzuki so knowing what will inevitably happen T_T I don't want him to die! he is really nice and is someone that Maki needs obviously.
Btw what is up with Yukiko?? Does she like Maki?? they keep hinting at that with her staring at him and mentioning him a lot with Suzuki. Am i misunderstanding the situation? would be sad for Suzuki if she actually like him tho. Again, don't kill Suzuki please T_T I hope Aoki at least is interesting enough to compensate.

There is no romance. More than 200 chapters in the manhwa and there is only one female character that has a one-sided crush on our MC. He doesn't care or notice tho and its not that important. She also appears WAY later so definitely not now at least. This is not a romance drama at all.
