This episode was super trope! Some thoughts: You should never walk into parties without your date. Delusional girl alert. Another trope crossed off the list ML dead parents. Another one off the list Mother obsessed with daughter marrying, another one off the list. (and also the start of a storyline that is one of the biggest reasons I drop romcoms. Please have the mother shut up and butt out) Nice walk along the beach! Contract relationship. Another one off the list! If this keeps up this episode I might have bingo! And had to stop cause of sub issues 😢

Their personalities just mesh so well It's always nice seeing someone like the evil prince cracking up. ooh, new eye candy! Chen Ru (Chen Zheng Yang?), nice. Hey, he's not on the character chart I have! Yes! Sikong Changfeng is back!!!! Are we finally getting the band back together? The embroidery and beadwork on these costumes are truly stunning! I adore the way Changfeng introduces himself! Including sweeping back the 2 strands of hair. The best meet-up! I'm so happy they are back together! omg, motormouth brought them to a brothel? I'll bet his wife won't be pleased The look on both their faces! They are so out of their depth! Love the wife! 'Feel murderous intent' lol I'm always amazed at how they can bring so much music out of a simple leaf Running away from the brothel so funny I don't know why he took his hair down, but nice! He looks so pretty! Eunuchs are always portraying evil bastards aren't they? Woah, the master has some big balls doesn't he? Talking like that to the emperor. Damn, that music is perfect! Kicking everyone's ass on the way out!

The leads are adorably cute. So far I'm loving it.This looks like it's going to be another fun romcom. And it's only 14 episodes so hopefully it won't drag out into any sort of melodrama.

This one is so unique it's hard to think of anything to compare it to. I don't really have a lot of recommendations but I'm tagging along with your question to see if anyone has anything. Link Click (live action) is airing now and has as out-there storylines. The subs aren't that good but the stories are incredible. Have you tried any of the Kishibe Rohan series/movies (live action)? They have weirdness to them that makes them hard to describe. (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series is where we get introduced to him). The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion is interesting, violent and dark. Speaking of violent and dark, Alice the Final Weapon. Any of the Death Note live action, but my favorite is the 2015 series I always recommend I Am Nobody. It's a series that can't be categorized at all. Really.
