I think you nailed my issue with the character. I have the same feeling about the FL there too. So this ML is a version of the FL GODF but with external plumbing! 🙃

Did they ever mention who/what she was before she was sold into slavery? I'm sure there was some sort of tragic backstory and she's either royalty or nobility whose family was destroyed. I just haven't gotten that far in the story line yet!

I think I'll wait until this finishes airing before I continue watching (or not) this series. I know everyone keeps saying that the ML has amazing growth and he and the
FL are perfect for each other but after 10 episodes I'm not seeing any changes. And I don't see how a mature, intelligent, calm female would ever tie herself you such an irritating man-child! She is better off single. 😉

Nope, no other woman/concubine in the novel. But truthfully, most of this series is not in the novel! Some of the names/characters are in it. And peonies. 😉
