Another completely biased review from me to you.
This was a fun little romp to watch when I got tired of too much angst and darkness from other series I've watched recently. I needed something light and fluffy.
The ML and FL are good together. Both of them are master planners/schemers and their chemistry was ok.
I loved that the emperor was a good guy since they always seem to make them evil in these historical dramas!
The FL's family were great. I love the generals!🥰
I loved the way the FL had the ability to turn her 'enemies' into friends. And the cute ceramic dolls she made for Jiamin and the prince!🤗
I was a bit irritated at the FL hiding her abilities all the time because she wanted to be the most famous weak/sickly beauty? Whatever for I don't know! But when she fought she was a badass, as good as her scheming!
The ML was a typical domineering male but he was cute the way he got flustered any time there was physical contact between himself and the FL. And I love how he couldn't help but stare at the FL all time.😍
The sidekicks for both FL and ML were great. I'm so glad neither of them bit the dust! Sad that they went ahead and killed off such a major character. There was really no need for that! That was the jarring note in this series.
I really wish they would give Jeremy Tsui a new wig though. It seems like almost all of his historical dramas he is wearing this awful helmet head with the most bizarre sideburns and hairline. Have you seen pictures of this guy in real life with normal hair? He is handsome as hell under that helmet! Not the MDL picture. That one is pretty awful. Really! 😂
