the only quibble with your otherwise sound logic (and work based experience) is that Hu Xin is not such a big budget production and would thus be offered at cheaper prices to advertisers, so it should go faster than the big ticket stuff in a cut-price economy, recovery notwithstanding....

yeah - nah....that's the author's tagline for chang yue (not the drama production's) - basically reader beware, if you know my work you know i "make men suffer". i had a "raised eyebrows" moment but thought, why not, tried the story and found it...meh. But I'm big on visuals and the clips are tantalising. Just think that Hu Xin book has the better material for BftB drama...all personal taste tho...

It's as Mizu describes - and the novel is light on the details - just that SY pretended to need his help, he fell in love with her, when they were supposed to marry, he turned up at the wedding spot (the trailer has him falling away dressed in red) and she attacked him with another person's help. When the relationship is mentioned in the book, it's pretty obvious that he has no idea what a real relationship is (just as YH has no idea regarding her previous "relationship" - spoiler alert - her Shifu). The author is careful to make these past loves significant in a naive way, but not "true love". You can read the whole translation at sacredspores blog.

yeah - i tried to read the translation, just can't connect with the storyline, and i guess not interested in the "make men suffer" tagline to TtEofM. The visuals already released look great, and the leads are gorgeous as are teh costumes, but the story.....

not too sure it's correct to say BftB doesn't have popular leads tho. As an argument that's questionable. it's really odd that Youku aren't putting up BftB because the trailers all look good (even from months n months ago) and both leads demonstrate chemistry in the trailers...not to mention, no matter how much they chop from the original story, it's still a great story - especially with the back and forth between the main CP. And there are the 2nd CPs like Xian Ge and Feng Q, as well as the illusion demon and the 9-tail fox prince...so BftB has all the ingredients to do really well. Just unfathomable why they don't want to release it....with the number of alternative platforms that show episodes as soon as released, can't be because of trying to string subs along endlessly.
