I wouldn't go that far :) I perfectly understand why this drama can appeal. This is a drama 100% in the style…
I understand that you do not like the lack of development of the main character. Actually there is no such thing, although it surprises me that you ask a person who thinks these dramas are bad and has stopped watching them :)
In any case, I don't know where you get the idea that the earth is a beautiful place where everyone wants to be. Well, it isn't, otherwise there wouldn't be murders and suicides. In hell Justitia was a powerful demon who could do pretty much anything she wanted, now she's on some dirty, boring earth, locked in some human's body (bleh) and has to do the job of some cleaner. Punishment is about making someone uncomfortable, in pain, suffering, humiliation, not about teaching them something. There is no penitentiary system in hell, there is only punishment bringing suffering. It is hell after all

Well, she is not an angel after all, but a demon :) And the fact that killing goes easily for her kind of goes in a package with being a demon. It's so generally accepted that demon = evil.

all others are paid fake reviewsbecause even director knows what they have made is garbage
I wouldn't go that far :) I perfectly understand why this drama can appeal. This is a drama 100% in the style of popular webnovels. There used to be such a popular series about vampires, which is now ridiculed even by former fans. It sells and there is a lot of it on the market, it's just not a genre done with much commitment and skill. I don't like it, I rate it low, but if I were younger and had seen less good productions, I might like this drama :)

I’m surprised you love this but not Doubt. I’m watching this as a fan of Stranger but have difficulty caring…
SDJ is a character I've liked for a long time (since Stranger). He was a bit of a slimy weasel at the time, but I could perfectly understand his motivation, his goals, and to me he was a guy who had a good heart but just started making some not-so-good choices. He paid for it, and painfully, and is now trying to return to Seoul and the respect of others honestly. As for me, he is a charming, likable character who I am happy to root for. She's still a weasel, but at least he's funny. About the protagonist of Doubts I know practically nothing. He's boring, slow and thinks his daughter is a murderer. I have no reason to root for him. If this drama had shown earlier how ML was happy with his family and then tragedy came, then I could have sympathized with him, understood his problems and doubts, but there was none of that. I was not given a basis to care about ML or FL. That's the main difference.

The other difference is the whole setting, the supporting characters. And here I will disagree with you, because I think there are a lot of interesting characters around SDJ. I love that young prosecutor and his interactions with SDJ. That police officer who suspects SDJ but cooperates with him is also excellent. I'm waiting to see when D.A. Kim will develop, as they are clearly going somewhere with her character. In Doubts there is no dynamic between the characters further down the line.

Another difference, but first the similarities: the murdered teenager and the mysterious money. In this drama, we got to know the victim. We know that SDJ had a positive relationship with her. We know that her father was worried about her, so the moment I learned that she was dead, I felt a little sorry for her. In Doubts, I don't care about the victim or her murderer, because it's some unknown number in the statistics for me. I don't know if it was a nice girl. The victim doesn't matter to me.

The pace and atmosphere are the final differences. SDJ is a very dynamic character who gets into trouble, but everything follows from something. There is action, there is reaction. In Doubt, there's just the unveiling of the shred of mystery by the screenwriters. It's slow and dark, while in SDJ it's very diverse, fast-paced, energetic. I don't mind dark dramas, but here the connection with any of the characters was definitely missing for me, so the darkness doesn't give me atmosphere just causes irritation, while watching SDJ is exciting fun for me :)

I definitely agree. I understand why others may like this drama, but that doesn't mean it will appeal to everyone :)

First of all, the previous incident happened what, 4-5 years ago? That's enough time for a person to get over…
That's why I said “I'm not belittling the suffering of people who have PTSD.” Nevertheless, the misuse of the term in dramas is rampant and often confused with less serious problems, because they call everything PTSD. But I think I understand what you mean. For me personally, SDJ gives the impression that that event is a badge of honor for him (the scene in the hospital). Something like “my suffering was worth this moment of glory.” Maybe the reward of recognition was stronger for him than the trauma, he finally felt appreciated and proud that he even risked his life as a prosecutor for the cause. This certainly helped him overcome any potential emotional problems.
By the way, I laughed a lot at this drama, but I don't treat it as a comedy. Maybe the humor is written so naturally that I treat it as normal life situations rather than comedy. There was also a lot of humor in Stranger and it was definitely not a comedy. But of course these are just my own feelings :)

I get that the comedic vibe in the first two episodes is relatable and all, but come on—Dong Jae takes a shovel…
First of all, the previous incident happened what, 4-5 years ago? That's enough time for a person to get over it. Secondly, PTSD is a complete exaggeration made either to make psychologists feel important or the TV series look interesting. I'm not belittling the suffering of people who have PTSD, but most people after some traumatic experience grit their teeth and move on, if they have any problems, it's usually not PTSD. This knowledge I know just from the mouth of a psychologist, an expert witness called in court to determine the emotional state of the perpetrators and the victim. More PTSD is encountered in TV series than in real life and yes, even in a life-threatening situation in a shocking and traumatic way. The experience of trauma does not develop PTSD at all that often.

Is the situation with movies same as with dramas in China? Do they drop stuff unannounced or will we get some…
Usually the films are announced a little earlier, about a month. On the other hand, even after the announcement, they are sometimes postponed. So the fact that we don't know the release date is rather normal.

so, this is not a drama? I wonder how they can wrap up and convey the storyline within the minimum screen time.
I'm not sure, but it's not supposed to be a filmed version of the whole novel just a certain stage. ML is already a leader and at a time of threatened invasion by the Mongols, after gathering the grand masters and determining what and how, he stands at the head of the troops to defeat the invaders. It is easily possible to fit this into one film and show some more interesting dueling and battle scenes. Or at least some time ago I heard that this is supposed to be such a film.

Person Xiao Zhan
why no one appreciate his versatility as an actor?🤔🤔
My Friend, I'm afraid you are a bit behind on the topic. This forum was bursting with compliments with every role he played. For me, TLP as a drama is a failure, although XZ tried his best to save this title. For that, I am a huge fan of Beitang Moran and Ji Chong. I also love his Tang San. But those dramas are old, so the discussions about them were during their premiere period. Many people love his acting as a whole, or at least in a few roles, but that doesn't mean that praise comments will come from everyone every five days. Personally, I really like his old works, from before his popularity period. I'm also looking forward to his two new costume productions. I think the forum will come alive immediately when there is any new material with him in a new role :)

I have a question: Should I watch Stranger before watching this drama or not?
At the beginning of episode three, SDJ asks some guy for advice. If I hadn't watched the previous series, I probably would have furrowed my brow and wondered who it was. Since I watched the previous two seasons, I was honestly happy to see him. I can't say whether this drama is clear and understandable to someone who hasn't watched Stranger, but I, who have watched, have a lot of fun thanks to such tiny tidbits. The plot itself is not related to the previous series, but I certainly wouldn't have liked SDJ as much, and maybe I wouldn't even like him if I hadn't known and loved him in that drama. Besides, it was in that drama that the events happened that now put SDJ in the situation he is in. On the other hand, this drama clearly has a comedic tone, that one was serious, so some may not like it. Well, and the creators show as a flashback or in dialogue this most important information, so that new viewers don't feel out of the loop. So if you think you don't understand something in a character, that you want to know more, you can watch Stranger, but if you're just wondering if you're missing something in the storyline, then, as of now - no. You're just missing a little fan service :)

Sorry, but you're the one who misunderstood me. The daughter is acting like a psychopath in the sense of the average drama watcher (real psychopaths are quite different.) With her suggested high intelligence, does she not realize how she presents herself to her own father? So am I supposed to root for the narcissistic sociopath pretending to be the victim, who at least planned to kill the high school girl, or her sociopathic dad, who accuses his daughter without proof, even though he is supposedly a good police officer? Supposedly, because the drama doesn't show it to me. I really don't care about their daddy-daughter problems, because I don't care about any of them. But I'm not going to repeat myself. For me, this drama is a closed topic. I'm not going to waste any more time on it. I wish you, however, a pleasant viewing experience :)

SDJ is such a cutie, such a sweet, such an adorable man that I'm rooting for him regardless of whether he gets corrupted or is noble and good. I finally watched episodes 3-4 and I haven't had so much fun in a long time. I guess since episodes 1-2 :)

I don't understand why people are annoyed that this drama refers to Stranger. It's like being annoyed that Lord of the Rings refers to The Hobbit, or Mandolorian to Star Wars. As something belongs to one franchise of course it will have some references between each other. After all, the whole situation DJ is in now is due to the fact that he messed up in the past.

All the more, I have no desire to watch a drama about a dysfunctional family, where every word from the daughter to the father is either a tantrum or a lie, where the daughter frames the father for bribery, domestic violence, and who knows what else, according to the screenwriters. It's a shame that this drama is labeled as a mystery or even a thriller — it would spare the disappointment of those expecting something more than communication problems between painfully boring people :)

That's not the point. I have watched hundreds, if not thousands, of police, detective and other series and dramas in my life. I have read not much less. In this drama, I have no one to root for. I don't care about ML's dilemmas, because ML doesn't have a single characteristic that would make me think “ok, he's a cool guy, I want him to have a good life.” It's all the same to me whether he treated his daughter well or badly, whether she deserved it, whether she's clean as a whistle, because I don't care about either daddy or this daughter, who for me represents the worst possible type of FL - she knows best and will do everything herself. This girl does not have a single quality in her that makes her pleasant to watch. Let's not stop here. The drama shows a few or a dozen police officers, but none of them has a personality. The drama can show how for two minutes someone stands or walks in very artistic silence, but can't show any meaningful interaction between the characters. The second pair of profilers can be summed up as "stickler for rules" and “insipid empath,” and that's it. We don't know anything about them. What do I care if the teacher lies and is a bad person if none of the scenes showed him to me as a good person. This reveal didn't even have shock value, because I don't care who killed the girl. Why should I? Was she a nice person? Do I know something about her that makes her more than a number in a statistic for me? It's been 4 episodes out of 10 and I, as a viewer, don't have a single character that I care even the slightest bit about and not a single crime that interests me. The drama spends too much time artificially creating atmosphere instead of focusing on creating characters. I get it, someone likes it, great, but I don't, and I boldly express my opinion.

After watching the 4th episode, which brought me -3/10 satisfaction, I conclude that this drama should be titled: “The boring life of uninteresting slugs with no personality.” What an endless boredom! Not a single interesting and even more sympathetic character.
