Always save the world. If you save the person you love and don't save the world, where will you live? You won't…
After all, I wrote - what's the point of saving one person when you don't have a world to live in? To build a world from scratch? Good thought. Good luck with that. Build the world carrying on your shoulders the burden that humanity, your family, friends, neighbors died because of you. This may look nice in teenage romance or empty ideological discourse, but not in practice. Surviving at the expense of others only works for a certain type of person, and it's not the heroes of romance only thrillers :) Credit goes to me :)
Always save the world. If you save the person you love and don't save the world, where will you live? You won't live, because if there is no more world, you can't be there either, ergo you will lose love too.
If you like nicely shot xianxia, this title may appeal to you. Visually, this drama seems to have no flaws. If you're a fan of romance and don't mind that there's almost nothing besides romance, you'll be delighted. It is a damn nicely shot xianxia romance. But if you're expecting something more than romance, some political gamesmanship, big stakes, well-developed side plots, I suggest you think twice before reaching for this drama. IMO, of course.
This cooperation with Youku for me is totally unrealistic, but Tencent does not have exclusivity on him. WDB was not produced by Tencent, they just bought the rights to display it on their platform. XZ is independent.
Yeah They couldn't kill him in season 1, no one would come back for season 2 lol.
Killing one ML in the first four episodes, right after he barely escaped with his life, is even worse. The viewer has a right to feel cheated, because he was told that this character would be in the second season, meanwhile he was killed off when the viewer already felt reassured about his fate. So I'm not surprised by the unfavorable comments. The element of shock, surprise and tragedy should not be combined with deceiving viewers. It is better for the producers if the viewer does not return for the second season than to quit after 3-4 episodes because they felt betrayed. I personally don't mind. My attitude to the situation is indifferent. It's not that these characters really exist, that I should cry for them. I want to see an actor, I choose any of his projects and done :)
I have the feeling that the first 4 episodes are the closure of season 1 and preparing a place for a new hero. I haven't decided yet if this is good or bad for me, because I need to see how the new character will fit in.
I can't help but think of "gone with the wind" as I watch this. There's a similar atmosphere that's hard to miss.
That's exactly right. I looked at FL and had Scarlett O'Hara in front of my eyes. A spoiled rich miss who thinks she has every guy at her feet, the guy she loves goes to war and she faces the horrors of war protected by a mysterious merchant with a bad reputation. 100% Gone with the Wind :)
I don't fully agree with everything in your review, but I also don't think our points of disagreement would much…
After watching episodes 5-6, I have to agree. Our heroes are a mere background to the story of the evil spirits. After 6 episodes, I feel even more detached from this series and its characters, who, in my opinion, no longer contribute anything to their own, supposedly, story.
Do you think that XZ is a monster? If you have ever watched an anime with the title "IDOLiSH7" you could understand…
Oh dear, I love it when new accounts throw something provocative :)
Well then, as not a fan, but a person who has been sitting in the XZ topic (and c-ent) for a long time, let me give you an answer in my own name not a fans.
History knows dozens, maybe even hundreds of people who were endowed with incredible charisma to lead crowds behind them. If you are interested in this topic, I recommend the anime Psycho-pass, it is brilliant, especially when Kougami Shinya discusses what charisma is. Having someone have such charisma is scary for many people because they feel threatened. But does that make charismatic person a monster? Probably in the eyes of some - those who are afraid, yes. Many bad people in history have had tremendous charisma, but many who have gone down in gold have also had it. Christ, Buddha, Mohammed, are perhaps the most famous cases of a positive figure endowed with incredible charisma. On the other hand, we have Lenin, Hitler, Stalin and several other names that I prefer not to mention.
Charisma and charm are the qualities of a psychopath (let's not be afraid of that word) but not only his. Besides, being a psychopath does not predestine one to do evil (contrary to what k-dramas claim). Xiao Zhan, however, has one very visible and strong characteristic that makes it impossible for him to be seen as a psychopath, ergo a monster. Xiao Zhan has very strong empathy. A person with strong empathy, or as one prefers emotional intelligence, cannot be a monster, because the pain he would cause other people is felt by him. Such a person is incapable of calculating, deception, manipulation, because the feelings of the victim are felt on his own skin. Such a person can only be seen as a monster by people who themselves have some trace or stronger traces of psychopathology.
So if anyone is lost so far, let me summarize: Xiao Zhan is very charismatic, which is a trait of a "monster" (and more) but because he is strongly empathetic, he cannot be a monster.
In season 1 we had relationship building within the team, conflict within ML that led to its development, a clear…
I for one do not have good hopes. The new hero is an additional comical element. I understand the desire to introduce something funny, but I don't like it when you suddenly start making clowns out of normal characters. I don't like what was done with Mr. Mo. I'm still watching but it's just something totally different from season one and it's not the fault of the viewers who usually don't like continuations just the creators that they completely changed the atmosphere and personality of the characters.
That's today! Yey, it's been a long time since I've been so excited in anticipation of a drama. Too bad I don't have time to rewatch the first season. I hope they do a good introduction - not too much, but not too little either, just right :)
I dropped this and wrote about it because people who are considering whether to watch this (or any drama) have…
I was intrigued by your comment. First, I explained why I personally go back to the titles I dropped. Perhaps I'll elaborate. There are times when something comes up in a drama series that greatly discourages me from continuing to watch. I stop watching. However, sometimes there are comments that present information that something interesting to me happened in the drama so I return to that drama. The drama "Stranger" I dropped twice in the first episode, to become my favorite after a year, and I returned to it after reading some commentary. TLP is a title I want to watch to the end, but due to the oversaturation of romance at the expense of everything else, I can't watch it because it makes me nauseous. If I read a comment that encouraged me to return to this title, I probably would. I don't know if it is obsessive behavior, unlike you I don't have a degree in psychology (because you graduated in psychology, since you give diagnoses based on someone's comment, right?). In my opinion, this is the normal behavior of a person who is interested in the topic, but is not an obsessive fan, so they hesitates. You should have been taught in your psychology classes that people have different personality types, which entails a different pattern of decision-making or behavior. Not everyone will behave the way you do, just as not everyone will have the same opinion as you. This makes the world more interesting, although not always pleasant. Do you understand better now, or do you want me to explain something more precisely? I will be of further assistance :)

Good point. A lot of people don't care if I like this drama (or any other drama) and whether I watch it or not. But many people don't care if you or anyone else watches this drama and enjoys it. The information or announcement that a drama has ceased to interest someone is just as important as the information that this drama still interests someone. Both of these pieces of information are useless to certain people, and yet I don't write "stop writing every episode about how wonderful this drama is if it's impossible to watch". Everything is based on individual taste and mutual respect. On the other hand, it is disrespectful to say that someone who dropped a particular drama has no right to speak about it, because not only each of us has the right to express our opinion but also to talk about it. If you don't want to talk to a person whose opinion you don't like, just ignore those statements instead of mocking that person. I'm sorry if my statements seem too difficult for you in terms of language. Correct use of language was taught to me in school and I will not change my style of speech to please someone anonymous on the Internet. I am glad that I provided you with joy. I hope to provide it to you more often. It is really great to talk with people who have such interesting opinions :) Wish you well :)
also i really want zhao lusi and xiao zhan to reunite in a drama where he is the ML. i started oh my emperor but…
Yes, 2ML syndrome after "Oh! My Emperor" was terrible. It will comfort you to know that most of the audience definitely preferred XZ to Gu Jiachang? At the X-Nine concert in 2018 when they sang the opening song, XZ garnered all the cheers from the audience. This concert belonged to him and this supporting role opened the door to his success. Acting-wise, Xiao Zhan had already surpassed everyone else by at least one class. I personally was rooting for him and 2FL. She loved him so much!
Credit goes to me :)
