OMG, I’m so happy rn. This is the show that I’m most addicted to rn. It’s so good and blew away my expectations.

Reading the novel, XZ is even more unhinged. The way he says the most serious of things in unserious manner always gets me. I can already picture this scene 🤣.

Well, let’s hope they follow the novel, something a lot of dramas forgot to do in the last few eps (Cough Cough TTEOM, TLP…)

Did not have expectations when starting this drama, mainly because having expectations can hinder the enjoyment of a drama. I am pleasantly surprised that I did not skip through episodes, which is the case for majority of the dramas that I watched. So far, the storyline and chemistry between the leads are good. Let’s see where this takes us, hopefully not sad endings - have had enough of those in 2023.

In my opinion, it has the same plot as a mini drama (8-10mins), I guess you can cast this as a mini drama too as it doesn’t have full ep length. With that being said, I don’t have much expectation. It’s most definitely not revolutionary drama, there are a lot of typical troupe that you would find in any typical drama.

Some SPOILERS (these are summarised important bits):
- he is a CEO and she is a girl with a dream (fashion/crafting etc.)
- Huge misunderstanding between the leads (she thinks he destroyed her family’s business and she nearly dies but he wasn’t there to help)
- she falls into the sea, gets saved but ML doesn’t know and searching for her for like 5 years even though everyone else thinks she’s dead
- she disappears for a period of time with the help of few ppl, comes back with a higher status and seeks revenge
- she also had a kid with him (so she kinda left him with the kid and disappeared so she’s not winning mum of the year anytime soon).
- she comes back with new identity (name) and is a renowned independent fashion designer.
- the ML sees her and thinks it’s his wife and investigates her by testing her and doing a dna test with their kid.

don’t worry, the long comment is fine. I think it’s also the fact that JY was reading those emails which HYZ thought were private between her and YF so she could’ve been sayin stuff about JY that she doesn’t want him to know. And also the fact that he hasn’t reached out to her physically despite knowing the things she’s going through in 12 years. it’s a messy situation.

IKR. Like I get trying to protect her from the trauma but it’s just gonna make things so much worse. Cuz not only she gonna find out and remember that her friend is dead but her other friends have all lied to her instead of helping her to get through the trauma.

Wait isn’t ep 24 out yet? I already watched it. What you said is overall true about LYF.

I am watching it on Kisskh cuz YOUKU app that I have don’t have the drama. And Yh, there’s no translation, it’s machine translation. It’s a shame really cuz the VOD quality is HD and the shows good.

Yh I preferred XY over AG, cuz it made more sense but I guess opposite attracts in fulle effect.

Though I love Xiao Zhan, the Longest Promise probably is worse than TTEOM in terms of Angst and ending. Though I still go back and watch it from time to time. I liked The Last Immortal ending as it was similar to ALP. I’m not complaining cuz TTEOM gave us Jin in a shell, don’t know if he’s alive or dead. The Longest Promise made the ML become a flower or part of his spirit is a flower (it’s hella confusing, even more than TTEOM).

Zhao Lusi is my fave but I have soft spot for others like Bai Lu, Xu Kai etc. But ultimately, I watch any cdrama tbh regardless of the actor unless I feel like I’m not connecting with that drama or actor.

I feel like everyone said all the ones apart from WHO RULES THE WORLD, which is my personal fave. STORY OF KUNNING PALACE is also really good. And WONDERLAND OF LOVE too. Basically if you just tap on Zhao Lusi’s or Bai Lu’s profile, you can find loads of good dramas.

Yh, the Longest Promise really did us dirty, the ML died twice. The way he died first then being brought to life only for him to die again like nothing beats that foolish scriptwriting. Same with Starry love, they become flowers or BFTB, just a few seconds of reunion. Don’t get me started on TTEOM, self explanatory (still haunts me till this day). And then LYX other drama LIP, the man couldn’t catch a break.
