I claim no expertise on understanding what runs in Sun Bo Xiang's brain (he does the most unexpected of things lol), but I his thoughts are probably along the lines of "This boy doesn't know what's coming for him. Hao Ting is sooo gonna break that poor behind." or something. IDEK. LMAO.
Sun Bo Xiang & Lu Zi Gang - I'm loving how we're actually getting a sort of opposite arc with their relationship compared to that of Hao Ting & Xi Gu. They started out all fire and passion, and we're now being treated to all the softness and uwu scenes. And to be quite honest, it's these sweet moments between couples that really win me over, and that scene on the bridge was just sooo heartwarming.
Can't help recalling that moment when LZG said that he'd need SBX whenever he was feeling lonely, and boom. He really showed up when LZG was feeling sad and missing his family. It's like he knew what LZG was thinking and feeling! The proposal was a complete surprise but really, I shouldn't have expected anything less from one Sun Bo Xiang. HAHAHA.
Xiang Hao Ting & Yu Xi Gu - my precious Xianggu couple is finally given the chance to fight for their love! OMG. But honestly, I feel for them so much because damn it - why do they have to prove themselves more than other couples should? They wouldn't have been this strict if Hao Ting was still with Xi Yu. :( Sad realities. Anyway, Xianggu is more than up to take on this challenge, and they're going to be brave together. <3
It goes without saying, that the scene at the cafe is one of my favorites in this episode. HAHA. When XHT & YXG got lost in their own world was just sooo adorably funny and sweet. I can't get enough of it. And YXG's puppy bark, anyone?! THAT WAS JUST SOOO CUTE. I CAN'T EVEN. And the way he pouted after everyone laughed at him. I was melting. And then XHT went in for the kill and fed him some CARROTS! Like who is this couple and what are they doing to my poor heart!
AND THENNN when XHT failed his latest exams and YXG was all upset about it! That's the most innocent and most adorable (help i'm running out of adjectives) lovers' quarrel I've ever seen on BL drama haha. YXG definitely has XHT wrapped around his little finger. The way Hao Ting was begging and explaining himself was too cute. I was just shaking my head at how silly he was being. Then when he got upset because YXG was upset and wouldn't take him to dinner... bam! A kiss! I can't even! WHAT CUTENESS. WHAT SWEETNESS. WHAT LOVE. AHH.
Okay. I need to calm down. Let's move on. Lol.
Hao Ting Bo Xiang friendship - this is a gem. From the very start till now, all the scenes with just the two of them have been precious. They never fail to put a smile on my face. Their friendship is just too real. You can feel that their level of trust with each other is really high. They hide nothing from each other - not even their positions in... you know. LOL. People accurately describe them as Dumb and Dumber hahaha but this friendship really surprisingly works. Their stupidity is endearing, and I can't wait to see so much more of them. :)
Zi Gang Xi Gu friendship - this is also a gem. <3 As a loyal member of the Yu Xi Gu protection squad, I must send a sincere THANK YOU letter to Zi Gang ge for always being there for Yu Xi Gu. He always looks out for him, and takes care of him, and makes sure that he eats. Despite all his personal struggles, he was always able to put those aside just to make sure that Xi Gu is well-cared for (ex. Reaching out to his ex(?) to get Xi Gu a job at the bar). Without him, the life of our dearest Xi Gu would definitely have been much more difficult.
No special mention characters for me this week, as I dont think anyone outside the 2 couples stood out for me in these episodes. HAHA. Maybe Xia De, but that's just my personal bias speaking. His expression when he saw the Xianggu PDA was like "Really, right in front me? Don't you know I'm nursing a broken heart?!" HAHAHA.

Sun Bo Xiang & Lu Zi Gang - Honestly, it took a while before this couple started grow on me, especially with a problematic beginning. But damn, were they a breath of fresh air in this episode. The initial scene was hot, not gonna lie about that. LOL. For a bit, I truly felt like a voyeur invading their personal time and space. HAHA!
I also enjoyed their sweet moments - especially the one after LZG's shopping. Slowly, but surely we're uncovering the past of this man who seemed so closed-off and aloof. Painful histories often harden people - and I guess the youthful and carefree nature of SBX is helping him peel away all that closed-off-ness. I'm loving it!
Big props also to SBX's cousin. That had me a good laugh - right after crying from the scene with XHT and his sister (Oh, HIStory, how cruel of you to play with our emotions!)

Their stargazing date was nothing but elegant. It was simply dreamy and romantic. I couldn't describe how happy my heart is to see YXG opening up more and more about his past to XHT. And each time he does, XHT seemed to know just what to say in return. When XHT said that he's sure that YXG's parents are smiling down on him at that moment, I truly believed it too. Because after a long time, YXG finally had someone that could make him happy.
The couch scene, dear lord. Where to start. Besides having scene the teaser, I could already tell that the parents were going to walk in on them, after they've mentioned that they don't lock the doors. But damn it! That make out session was beautiful. Youthful, check. Intensity, check. Passion, check. And you could see them really communicating just with their eyes and their bodies. "Is this okay?" "Yes, you can touch me." I can hear these lines just by their actions alone. LOL, maybe I'm crazy.
XHT's Crying Scene - heartbreaking! If YXG was the one that made me cry last week, then that honor goes to XHT this time. The line, "I want to go after him and say, 'Don't Be Scared. I'm right here!' But I can't." was so raw and believable, and I felt his pain. Thank you little sister, for being there for him, when no one else would or could.
The Phone Call - Wasn't this supposed to be a lighthearted drama? HAHA. Why do they want me to cry buckets?! I can't express how much my heart was moved by XHT used up the money he saved for Switch (I'm assuming!) to buy YXG the phone - just to tell him to be strong and to keep fighting- because he didn't want what's happening to be distraction for the other when it comes to realizing his dreams.
YXG fighting for love - If you're not moved by this act of standing up for love, then I don't know what else will. Lots of people say they were surprised that YXG went for it - but I wasn't. This young man, is a man with determination. When he set his eyes on a goal, he would always find the way to achieve them. You've all seen how he persevered throughout his life, studying hard, working hard, just to get where he wants to be. So if by now, being in a relationship with XHT is something that he wants, then you can bet your ass that he will definitely do everything in his power to make it.

The one who earns an extra mention this week would be Daddy Xiang. I was truly disappointed with him. Huhu. I think anyone else would agree. In previous episodes, I would always say, "His heart is in the right place, he just doesn't know how to express it." But now that he's said that it's indecent for 2 guys to be together, I'm not sure if his heart is even in the right place. Misguided is what he is. And I cant wait to know how his mindset will be turned around in the remaining eps.
Lastly, I guess we wouldn't really see the Hao Ting - Xi Gu - Xia De love triangle now, lol. Xia De seems to have recovered from the surprise lunch visit in ep4 and is now happily joking around with the others again about XHT & his infatuation with YXG. HAHA. Guess fanfic is the cure for that!
