No. I think you have to read the novel, understand and like it before you even start. Otherwise this whole drama is pretty crazy

JCW and NJH has the 'couple look'. Their smiles, eyes and nose looks quite similar and purely started this to see how their chemistry works. Overall, the drama is just average. If you are looking into fast paced drama with several crime cases, this might not be suitable because they spent the whole drama working on one murderer case. Some comedy effect was there, but not quite there yet. The plot is quite predictable overall, with a small plot twist at the end (that's about it)

Managed to make it through with a lot of fast forwarding and x2 speed for the last few episodes.

Need to give credits to the middle/older lady who acted as Mei Wen. Her acting is so natural and she fits her character like a glove. Apart from the 2 side characters (zhi lin and ya en), it's my first time watching all the other characters act. All did ok, no bad acting. Jasper is so pleasant looking (those dimples!) that I found myself sometimes smiling unconsciously like an idiot when he's on screen lol.The pace of the drama was quite nice, so idk why some mentioned they drop because its slow pace. Maybe in comparison to korean dramas, taiwan dramas tend to be slower, with some side story fillers so some adjustment is required. The 3 gangsters also made me laugh most of the time at their antics XD I think for taiwan drama, generally there would always be this 1 or more side characters acting in ridiculous manner to create the comedy effect

Rated this 8/10. Not good enough to be a 8.5/9 but not unpleasant to the extent of 7 or 7.5

Short, sweet and apt review! I agree with every single point you have. I think pace is good aside from a lil too many flashbacks.

Sigh synopsis has so much potential, but the drama was executed unpleasantly. There's no hook for me to continue watching. Like what many said, its a childish kind of drama and the target audience is more aimed towards teenagers. Towards the second half, I was forcing myself to watch with fast forwarding to see how it will end but found out there's a season 2?? lol. Modern chinese dramas/web dramas (aside from My Sunshine- the only chinese drama I truly enjoy) really has a long way to go. edit: love 020, boss and me, a love so beautiful. These are good too.

Slow paced drama, not spectacular. Would recommend you to save time, give this a pass for better dramas.

5 more episodes and can't wait to see how it ends. The one episode a week airing interval isn't exactly helping..

Good actor! Really like his natural acting. He can be funny and serious, depending on the scene requirements.

How did you derive the real ratings, just curious because it seems reasonable for NIF to be around 9 and 3L3W to be a 7 or 8

I think I am one of the few odd one outs because I did not enjoy the drama as much. Yes, the quality is okay--not too bad but not to the extent of thinking "I can't get over it!!" or "This is such a masterpiece?!" after I have completed watching. I know it's not really the same plot, but if I were to compare it with other historical dramas I have watched recently like Nirvana in Fire and Sound of the Desert, this one pales in comparison in terms of how the drama is executed (hook, logic, cinematography) and the chemistry of the couple. I wouldn't say it was a full good 58 (episodes) x 40mins well spent because some scenes were repetitive while some were quite good. I think I only fully found myself enjoying this drama from about episode 17 onwards >< just my personal thoughts (no hate pls)

and a tip for anyone watching on dramanice, the comment sections are randomly filled with spoilers.... e.g. you finished watching a particular episode (say ep 17) and scroll down to read the comments and somehow accidentally reading what will happen on ep 27 etc because of other commentators who are re-watching or have read the novel. Depends on how you see it, it can be good but to me greater extent bad because no more surprise factor.

16 episodes in.. still can't get into the main couple :(

I did some research to recap the synopsis.. and I think the most similar one would be Her Legend? The girls are cousins though and not sisters, but they did work in designing luxury handbags. When the poor girl was young and an orphan living with her aunt's family, she was supposed to be adopted by a wealthy family, but because the rich woman who wanted to adopt the poor girl got into a car accident and had amnesia, so the aunt and uncle passed off their own daughter as the poor girl. After they grew up, they got entangled with the same guy, worked in the same company and the rich girl always trying to sabotage the poor girl.
