Is it a sad ending? Thrown off by the earlier comments that it is more political than romance drama. From the synopsis, I thought it will have more romance.
I think this drama is just...ok. Pretty flat drama, maybe for those who like slice of life genre. It's mostly realistic and not so much fluff. Some cute parts only at the much later episodes. Quite a bit of filler episodes. I kind of regret starting on this just because I want to check out the chemistry of the main leads
#1 Japanese (HYD) #2 Taiwanese (Meteor Garden) #3 Korean (Boys over Flowers)
Best Female lead: Inoue Mao as Makino (least annoying, most comfortable to watch out of all 3) Best Male lead: Jerry Yan as Dao Ming Si (very believable) Best second leads would the Korean version: Yi Jung and Ga Eul Best parents of female lead: Meteor Garden Best chemistry: HYD's Inoue Mao and Matsumoto Jun
Very light, heartwarming, comedic and brought back some of my high school memories. The female lead is fabulous, she's natural in acting and plus point would be a little chubby unlike other stick thin actresses. Male lead's gorgeous, reminds me of a skinnier, paler version of Eddie Peng. This drama has some Love 020 vibes except Love020 is more mature because it's set in university. I dreaded the arrival of drama's end, because I didn't want it to end. That's how good it is
*Parents finding an auspicious date to open their new shop* Xiao Xi: "This Saturday is an auspicious date" Parents: "Is it?" *Checks date on Chinese calender* Parents: "A day fit for burial... What nonsense are you spouting?!?" XDDDD
This drama is gold, with many funny moments. The moments are not too childish, just the right amount of comedy
Mixed feelings about this. On one hand, kinda excited to see a remake 16 years after the original Meteor Garden. On the other hand, the original F4 of MG is already quite iconic on its own
Run out of energy/attention watching lakorn in the first hour. It's like a freaking movie for every episode and I am just not used to it. Sometimes I have to pause and go back to it again. But the ONE and GMMTV channel dramas are kept to 1 hr so that's still good, like Leh Ratree, I wanna be sup' tar
This revenge hatred turned to love kind of drama is just not my thing. I think it all goes down to personal preference. The female lead is really gorgeous and exotic looking almost like a professional model but I just don't connect with her appearance. But her crying scenes were good, touches the heart. I think the whole story was moving a little slow too. Piak and Chaiyan story was going in circles. Distrust..lack of communication..misunderstanding..crying.. repeats N times
I dropped this.. something about the execution just did not hit me well. I actually liked the first few episodes, but the drama slowly faltered and my interest faded gradually too.. Maybe I will go back and watch the last episode to see how it ends.
Didn't like suspicious partner too, even Ji chang wook can't save that drama for me. It's just too lengthy and lack of engagement. Now that you have said it, I think they really did not fuse the suspense and romance nicely together, so overall the genres just didn't fit very well. I felt W was great though. It did get a little confusing in the end but the hook is good, it kept me watching to find out how the story will end.
