Yeah.. Always hold reservations UNTIL a lot of people recommend it XD The thing about c-dramas is the slower pace and a lot of unnecessary side character fillers which makes it very easy to lose interest. . I have only 4 good modern Chinese dramas in mind. And that's very little compared to how many they release lol

I think this is not worth almost 40 hours. Some of their actions confuses me because some scenes are cut out. I think it starts going downwards ard 30 epsiodes onwards. The chemistry is great. But from 30 episodes onwards, not much scenes of the main couple, more of political discussion between the parties of different warlords.

Hmm I wonder if people who don't understand Chinese is ok with the voice? Because personally I can understand Chinese so it sounds a little off but others might find it ok..

I have to agree that both leads' acting don't deliver enough. The female lead eyes are big, but looks sleepy and no emotions sometimes.. seems like it's an empty hole. The male lead ain't any better. But I will cut male lead some slack since he's supposed to be a cold and distanced person who doesn't talk much or shows his emotions..

It is a sad and open ending. Looking forward for season 2 to be announced. Otherwise the ending is quite -.-

@benedict wow I knew all these are drama adaptations are from novels, but did not know they were from the same author. These 3 happen to be my top C-dramas, together with a love so beautiful. Will definitely keep an eye out for other dramas adapted from man gu's novel in future xD

It did not felt draggy to me. And I think the pace is well balanced. More to the slow side, but still good.

Rating 8.4.. Really? This is at best 7.8 lol. It starts strong but gets draggy mid-way. I think a better option for romance-crime genre, as recommended by one earlier commenter, will be I Hear Your Voice.

Back here after 5 months, happy to see so many good reviews!! Will always be rooting for this drama~ Good drama leaves a lasting impression, and have high rewatch value. This will be one of it. If we compare C-dramas to K-dramas, there's indeed lack of quality C-dramas. This is one of the rare, well-made modern day mainland china dramas ..

I think it's an ok drama. It definitely keeps me engaged to the end, but there was little, if not non-existent chemistry between Hiroto and Sakura. Some of Sakura's actions were cringey and I was wondering if she has a screw loose. I know that's just her character but still not feeling it.. Actually I held on to the end just for Miura Haruma XD

So far so good.. but will need to finish season 2 before giving a final answer. Just finished season 1 but story continues in s2. So 17 episodes to go. Male lead is one of the most frivolous and obnoxious character I have seen in drama-land

Are the actors using their real voice? The male lead's voice sounds dubbed

Can give this a miss.. I think it's too short to fully optimise the story line

I dropped Strong Woman, and no intention of continuing it.. It wasn't engaging enough. It started strong but slowly declined after a few episodes.

Sad ending, which I usually avoid like the plague. But that male lead is one major eye candy.. so I am in lol.
