Give this a pass if you are considering. This isn't really a good drama. The start was a little interesting but the pacing became slower with every episode. No urge to continue watching. Only completed because I was already half way through.. Average acting and it kind of dragged towards the end. I would recommend Master's Sun over this.

Do you guys like this drama? I tried watching to ep 3 but idk if I should keep on watching this. What do you guys…
I am at episode 7 and having hard time continuing it too. Story moving slow and there's lack of chemistry between the leads. Just wondering when the guy will get back his memory..
On Forget You Remember Love Mar 30, 2020
At episode 7. There's weak chemistry between the main leads. Something is lacking about the female lead's acting. Her eyes are enlarged intentionally most of the time and it doesn't convey any emotions.

It's nice that you articulated the same things I felt about the show. I don't understand how people overrate some…
Lol thanks for the explanation, but I didn't know expressing our doubts and opinions on this drama will result in your low key insult on our "low attention span, lack of comprehension skill." It's not that deep gurl, it's just a drama pls don't cross the line and insult us thnks

Thank you, we have some similar views. Have you read the novel? I wish to know who summoned his soul back as well. There's indeed some slow parts to the show but thankfully not major. At least this show ain't that bad for me to drop it, I think you should try to finish because the last 20 episodes is better in the sense they unveil some of the truth. I don't think it's fair to compare it to NIF because that's not fantasy (xianxia) genre and I could tell the budget is really high for NIF.. (from the costumes, filming techniques and setting).

"best of buds"... is how someone with straight views and preconceptions wants to see WWX & LWJ relationship. No…
Yes from the way LWJ look at WWX sometimes, you can tell the guy likes him. Then again, there's no further development beyond those subtle glances. And WWX mentioned about pretty ladies in the show, subtly hinting he's kinda straight so I think BL isn't the direction the show is going towards.

For their friendship, I couldn't relate to the process they became friends/soul mates. WWX took the initiative to strike multiple conversations with LWJ, but the latter seems really annoyed and unbothered. But at some point of the show, LWJ is suddenly ok and interested in WWX. I can't see the progression or transition that led to him softening up, or any particular event that shows his gradual increase of interest. Or maybe it did happen, but the events wasn't seamless or believable for me to relate to..

Erm.. I disclaimed that I am watching this show as someone who's NEW to this story. This means I did not read the novel and am watching this as bromance, not them being smitten with each other. It's very easy for novel readers to have background information on how their r/s is like. But for anyone new to this, this show is trying to censor that BL and portray them as good friends which failed to make me relate to their friendship/"bromance".

And even if they are meant to be smitten with each other, this drama isn't portraying them as that due to censorship.. So the final product is something that's neither here (believable solid friendship) nor there (BL).

This is just ok, but not darn good. I did not read the novel, anime etc. so I am watching this as someone who's new to the story line. The last 20 episodes got better but I think this show overall is lacking in some aspects.. the filming techniques seems amateurish, the acting of the guy who's portraying JGY was a little uncomfortable to watch when he overacts, they didn't set the foundation right with how WWX and LWJ became the best of buds at the beginning which makes their reunion not so touching. While I do admit this show is engaging for most parts and touching at one of the scene, I think it's just so-so. Got my expectations up reading the hyped reviews, but am kinda disappointed..

I'm at episode 41 and since it is a whole episode with Meng Yao, I wish I could skip it. Really. I've been watching…
A little bit of over-acting, which makes it unnatural sometimes

Title Before We Get Married Spoiler
I felt like the writers made LHY the bad guy for the last few episodes just to validate WW's decision to leave him. This show started strong, but it got unrealistic when CKH joined the same project team as WW. Shortly after, ZY joined the team as the CEO's secretary overseeing the team. Then, LHY also joined the team as part of their investment partner/technical member. So, the whole love square is suddenly part of the same work team which is quite a ridiculous situation. But then again, you realise the whole premise of the show is unrealistic when you have a very rich and hot guy chasing after a 'plain jane' who scrimps and save. Anyway, Puff and Jasper's chemistry is what makes the drama lit. Jasper literally has this smoldering, in-love eye contact whenever he looks at Puff.

"The episodes afterwards were ok, but then somewhere down the road, the leads had very little screentime" This is the saddest thing (or maybe it's just something common) about most modern day Chinese dramas. Thanks for the heads up. Originally wanted to give this a go before reading this T_T

It's full genre is romance and there were about 3 kisses in the trailer
They got together at very late part of drama so the romance/sweet parts only happened in the last few episodes.
On Well-Intended Love Jul 20, 2019
It was difficult for me to finish this. It started off promising but became boring. I find this is a very common issue among China's modern dramas. The story might be good for reading like manga/webtoon but they did not do a good job converting it to a drama. So it came out flat.

After watching the last episode, I think WW just needs an excuse to break off from her bf because she really likes…
I think different people may interpret it differently. But I watched it without subtitles, and the literal translation WW said to her friend is "CKH has never been my own choice, so what do you want me to say?" I interpret as CKH's persistence and continuous pursuing made her question herself/made it look like there's something between them. She did not want this to happen and it was beyond her control.

The moment Wei Wei decide to wear the floral dress for Ke Huan & Zi Yuan's visit to their home, I know shit is about to go down. She has already fallen for him. I think I screamed about 5 times in episode 4. Everything is wrong but so right at the same time.

You can't.

I was trying to crack my brain to find answers for questions 1 to 5. Then I saw question 6 and started smiling, but completely lost it at question 9 when I read the translated song lyrics.. I will try to answer some though

1. No. of episodes
I personally attribute it to the large number of characters (i.e emperor has a lot of concubines and sons, there's many clans/realms) so they can develop the story long (endless people trying to harm the main characters, endless plotting/scheming/fighting etc)

2. Types of series
This has been well-explained by the other users below and I learnt something new too. Summarized:
a. Wuxia- There's martial arts and some flying around. E.g I will never let you go (Chen yu flying from the ground to top of tree/rooftops)
b. Xianxia- More unrealistic with CGI, "magic powers" and cultivation to increase power E.g. Ten miles peach blossom, Ashes of love
c. Historical- The most realistic usually based in palace depicting the dynasties E.g Story of Yanxi Palace, Nirvania in Fire.

3. Names
I read the following article before for the drama Siege in Fog because I was curious why all 3 brothers had 2 names.
a. Apparently once a child is born, they would be given a nickname before their official name is created.
b. Before the child reach 3 months, their parents will give them a personal name (the child, parents, teachers and friends uses this name to call him).
c. During the coming of age ceremony, their parents will give them another name which other people would call them except their parents who would continue to call them using personal name.
Read it here: https://productiveprocrastination.site/2018/03/18/the-secret-behind-yi-lian-kai-yi-lian-shens-names-10-min-read/

8. Drama
Don't look for romance in historical dramas, I find that in the awesome productions, usually the romance isn't the major highlight. E.g. Nirvania in fire, Story of Yanxi palace
