Main leads were okay but side couples were kinda boring, especially the young couple that was arguing initially. I find their scenes filmed to add to the length of drama
how's the ending?Don't want to get too traumatised !!
It's a sad ending. A few will die. Edited: just realised there is a special 34.5 episode. It is still sad, but at least not that sad anymore knowing the ML will come back..
Traumatising. Won't have started this if I knew it was such a tear jerker. Remember to watch the extra special episode (ep 34.5), makes it less sad.. Story, music, acting and CGI are good. But felt like some dialogues were too slow, cameras stayed on the individual character's faces way too long than it should and some scenes played in slow motion so some fast forwarding/1.25x was required. Chen Du Ling is definitely one of the better young female actress in the industry. Her eyes can speak and her crying feels realistic. The genre is heavily focused on friendship/bromance, little to no romance, and more xianxia fantasy than wuxia..
Loved this during my first watch a few years ago. Just finished my 2nd rewatch and realised everything was less…
DFQC was so cool and impressive with his powers and words during the first part of the drama. Sentences like "how dare you hurt my woman" and ofc going all out to save Orchid. On my 2nd watch, I realised he did it out of self-protection and not deep feelings/atrraction since he is incapable of feeling emotions. The 2nd part of the drama starting from the DFQC dad arc became slower paced and there were quite a number of recap scenes.
Loved this during my first watch a few years ago. Just finished my 2nd rewatch and realised everything was less impactful and some parts were a little slow. It's still one of my top xianxia drama, but feels like this is more suitable for only 1 full watch. Spoilers in below
This was just average, don't think it should be rated higher than 8.. It started strong in the immortal realm. Things were funny, story was interesting. But after they went to the other realms, story became slower and more predictable. Chemistry was okay but not strong enough
The main leads looks good, story moves fast and a few funny moments. Overall, a light hearted and easy drama to watch. But just like most other mini dramas, the story has no depth, logic and impact , likely will be forgotten a year later on what the drama was all about during a re-visit.
Good chemistry between the leads. Both of them are good looking and acting is ok. One of the better short dramas out there with a good director. Storyline won't make much sense as with most other short dramas out there. Quite an interesting watch overall.
This was enjoyable. Great chemistry. Pacing is comfortable. Story is interesting. Charcters are flawed especially FL in the beginning, but she becomes better progressively. To me, Gong Hyo Jin is one of the best actress in Korea. There's something very natural & lovely about her personality & looks. This reflects nicely in her acting which by the way is great too. Her eyes can speak and there's a spark in them. If she picks the right script and production team, the drama will turn out great like this (and Master's Sun). Jo In Sung is handsome and acting is decent too.
Average. Just something to pass time, nothing great and will not recommend. The pacing is slow, will need to watch at 1.25x sometimes. Only 10% romance and the rest was just normal friends behaviour between the leads and scenes between lead and the side characters.
It is a light and fluffy watch, with typical tropes expected in a chinese youth drama e.g. high school exams, after school activities etc. Pacing was a little slow sometimes and had to 1.25x. Definitely sweet and I can't help but smile whilst watching sometimes. But overall nothing groundbreaking and couldn't stir strong emotions. As someone who prefer dramas with plot twists, interesting happenings/problems or cliffhangers, this drama falls flat.
8.1 is an injustice to this show. Just the acting of ML should be able to get 9+ rating. It's the first time I…
Some of the korean shows are definitely overrated here. Just because there are some A-list actors starring in it. But story and production is actually boring. And when you leave (negative) opinions in the comments section, many become defensive and criticise because how dare you comment something bad about our favourite "masterpiece" drama.
Another semi-nonsensical / fluff but forgettable drama from IQiyi. Just finished Time to Fall In Love and that was even more unrealistic compared to this. The bad thing about these short web dramas is the flawed writing and premise. But the good thing is they tend to get a hot male lead and the director knows how to film to make it addictive. Chemistry is good in this and the leads look like they are ready to make out whenever they look at one another. The story started strong and addictive but kinda dragged for last 4 episodes.
Edited: just realised there is a special 34.5 episode. It is still sad, but at least not that sad anymore knowing the ML will come back..
