First watched this as a teenager many years back. It was a light and sweet drama. Just finished rewatching this as an adult. Still good but realised there are different feelings watching the same drama at different phase of life. Realised this is actually a very unrealistic drama XD and alot of overacting from the female lead.. Sung Hoon definitely pulls off these manipulative and confident chaebol roles very well. And there's no real kiss scenes, maybe they had to keep it PG

Story telling starts slow. Was kinda bored for the first 4 episodes before it started to pick up. My advice: Do not scroll down to the comments section if you are watching using myasiantv / dramacool website. There's this nasty person who commented the spoilers of what really happened in future episodes. That destroyed the watching experience for me. My bad. Better to stay confused and watch all the way to the end to find out yourself.

This drama is a little overrated maybe because I usually like drama that hooks me from 1st ep and has a faster pace. It also has a heavier tone and romance is not the main focus. I'm guilty of watching it at 1.25x speed for some parts. Could be because of the spoilers too..

I agree. Many overrated dramas here, including this. At least we see some mixed reviews for this one and not just a flood of people over-praising it in the comment section.

Are we finally at the end of the whole So E and Youngjae arc? They are dragging it out so it feels boring & unreal (like acting). But imagine if So E was cool like Sejong, there will be no drama for a reality show. I am assuming Sejong dropped Youngjae the moment she knew that he isn't interested in her. She is just kinda fading into the background now..

Jinyong is able to hold conversation with each lady if he wanted to but for now feels like he's most interested in Seul Gi. And damnnn, Seul Gi is one busy lady. So many guys wanna chat with her.

Starting this for the first time.. Most ladies seems introverted except Seo Eun and Sejeong. Seo Eun gets the advantage because she's fair skin, has a nice/outgoing personality and a gorgeous smile (she was Miss Korea 2021..) Imo she is the most natural behaving participant for now.. Seul Gi is kinda awkward but since she fits the Korean beauty standard too (i.e fair skin, big eyes, sharp nose and nice figure..) she's popular.. Nadine is kinda in her own world and doesn't stand out for now. Like a female version of Jong Woo.. Feels like Sejeong and Seo E taking a backseat for unknown reasons. Hope there will be some change in dynamics or this will just be Seul Gi / Seo Eun focused? For the males, Han Bin stood out to me most but Yoong Jae ended up the most popular.. Seems like these reality shows are largely scripted so let's see how this act plays out..

I think I dropped that drama.. Wasn't my cup of tea.

Disappointing.. few months of on and off watching but eventually dropped it at 30 plus epsiodes. It is a waste of time, but I had to do it. Rather waste 30 hours than 50 hours. It started promising. Wang Yoo feels like the male lead. But Ta Hwan is actually the male lead but felt no main character energy from him nor chemistry between him and Empress Ki. Story progression is slow. Whole show is largely greed, greed and more greed. Gets boring.. Filming method is strange with many close-ups.

Yes.. but she is quite popular in China right? Unfortunately not a good indicator for acting skills.. I watched her in I Hear You alongside Riley Wang.. Not much chemistry too..

Love Like the Galaxy is more of a family drama.. Even with the (sparse) romance scenes, the leads' chemistry is weak.. And I agree Zhao Lu Si has quite a few blank expressions.. also noticed her occasional avoidance of eye contacts with her co-star..

I'm on the fence with this one. I would say it's above average but can be forgettable. There are some good and some not-so-nice. The good will be the engaging storytelling. A long series, but I didn't feel like dropping it at any point in time. Things are happening in every episode. The acting by Shao Shang's mother. This lady's eyes can speak and she played her parts well. Definitely has a gift for acting. The filming and editing is smooth, except for a few unnecessary pondering shots in the last few epsiodes. The not so nice would be main leads' chemistry. I came from L&P because ppl over there were recommending this. I would say their chemistry is kinda lacking. ZLS is a sweet looking lady and a few of her crying scenes are very heart tugging. I loved her character's story arc with Lou Yao. (I'm sorry, but I felt more chemistry between them than her with Buyi. I cried at that last scene where their arc ended..) But I feel like ZLS has issue with forming connection or having good chemistry with some of her costars. I think it's the lack of eye contact. The male lead can be looking at her with love but her eyes are sometimes looking downwards or staring back blankly. For Leo, I think he can speak with his eyes but his occasional chest/ arms out, shoulders back body langauge to portray a confident general was too intentional for me. Could have been more natural. And as much as name and poster seem to suggest romance, I feel like the first half of the drama wasn't focused on romance. In general, the show is more inclined towards friendship, family interactions within the various clans and politics. It's a family drama.

I came from L&P too and just finished this yesterday. Honestly the chemistry is lacking here. (There were sparks in eye contacts over there at L&P..) As much as the poster and title seem to suggest romance, but I think it isn't the main focus. It contains more of family ties/interactions, friendship and politics

It's really good for me. One of my top 3 modern c-dramas. The characters are charming, acting is natural and looks are refreshing (minimal plastic surgery). The story is well paced and doesn't feel draggy. It is a well-rounded and high budget production. Rare find in cdrama land.. Currently, there are some mixed reviews about this drama in MDL. You can try a few episodes to see if it's your cup of tea. For me, I was hooked before episode 3 and found myself binge watching it. It did not feel like 40 episodes..

I am at episode 2 and the pace of drama is reallyyyy slow. Any idea if it will be like this for all 50 plus episodes? If it starts slow but is amazing after 10 episodes (like Nirvania in Fire), I dont mind continuing it. Does it get better...?

Based on past experiences, chinese remakes of taiwanese dramas won't surpasse the original.. Look at Fated to Love You and Meteor Garden.. Nothing close..

Yes , I agree with above. You Are My Hero is good. It's more for those age above 25. More mature setting and the story is realistic. My Sunshine and A Love So Beautiful is good too. Oh right, Autumn Concerto too. Thats a taiwanese drama, not sure if it fits your bill. Old but gold

The director did a cross reference to My Sunshine in one of the episodes. Fang Shu Miao is working in the law firm co-owned by He Yi Chen. He is the male lead in My Sunshine directed by same director as LAP. Not as addictive but remember it's also quite good and has similar theme for anyone who is interested..

Great chemistry.. love the gradual relationship development and sweet / natural interactions. The filming method is very smooth too. It's not a perfect drama because some tropes are cliche, a few abrupt editing here & there and some unanswered questions. But overall still enjoyable because the story telling is engaging and felt like the leads are truly meant for one another no matter the amount of detours they make.
