I also couldn't understand the lack of tension and seriousness that the characters desplayed while being chased during the whole middle of the drama by the big bad villain... I understand the characters need to eat, sleep, and watch Tv but it seemed so out of reality with the matters at stake! Especially during a scene when they all know that Eul Tae will come to their hideout but they (Sang Un and Shi Ho) still decide to stay inside the house and make one do the laundry while the other hides in the closet ? The worst is that it actually worked and the villain was fooled! I usually like the use of "filler" scenes because it's a great way to develop the relationships between the characters but in this drama it was way too much and the pacing was affected because of that
(I already posted this comment way back in the feed but I wanted to see if maybe some of you could answer some questions I had)
So I clearly loved the premise of the show (the "vibes" of it like the cinematography, the OST, the folklore with tales of betrayal, love, monsters, curses...) but the biggest disappointment for me was the villain. The writers introduced him as a highly intelligent and cunning character (in fact his charisma was a big factor in me liking the show more than I objectively can say lol I can't resist a good and stylish villain so thank you Lee Joon) but all his theatrics were just for show and illogical in the end... I can't understand his obsession with Hwal at all and I clearly wish they took more time to develop his backstory because like someone already said in the comments before he wanted power but why was he so lovesick and obsessed with Hwal was a complete mystery. I think it greatly diminished the meaning and impact of the whole show because he was a big factor in all of this happening and his actions in the past required so much more reasoning than a simple "coincidental" meeting with Hwal that lasted for 5min max...
In fact, I'm sure that if we took the time to re watch the drama from the beginning, all the depth behind his lines would be nullified. How could he have known the history between Hwal and Sang Un when they were bulgasal ? Why did he say Hwal had a one-sided love ? How could he have known Sang Un abandoned Hwal to care for the children? If he was the one who killed his family, why was Sang Un also present, which resulted in Hwal transforming into Bulgasal? Why did he wait 600 years to approach Hwal again if he was so obsessed with him from the beginning? Why did he have so much hate towards Sang Un when in fact it was Hwal who gave him the dark hole and thus his never-ending pain? Just because he was jealous, he wanted to kill her during every reincarnation she had? Or did he think her death would result in him becoming fully bulgasal ? If so how ?
The bottom line to all that is that I just can't understand his reasons/motivations at the end. All these questions and not many answers were given unfortunately. Well I still liked the drama but I simply wished the writers took more time to explain these things. It's also possible that I missed some important informations during the show so if someone can take the time to reply, I would very much appreciate it! :)
Woww I absolutely love the way you summed it all up, I completely agree with you. I had the same reaction watching…

Such a strong start but too many unanswered questions by the end. I know it's not always possible but it felt…
Agreed on everything you said! I thought we would finally see his "wild" personnality when they showed him covered in blood and his hair disheveled and all that at the bottom of the well but the next scene, it was like he took a shower?! Like the villain was doomed to be dirty and covered in blood during the majority of his scenes but our hero can't be seen like that for more than one scene.... I know it's not a grave matter but I found it funny lol
I thought it was pretty nice honestly ! Perfect after a heavy watch like many people in the comments said. Yes it's cliché but I think it was pretty well done. The relationship between the band members, the romance, the OST (like seriously it was amazing !), the cinematography were all great. I admit I wasn't very convinced with ep1-2 but the story eventually succeeded in drawing me in. The only downside for me was the final ep. I think the whole kidnapping thing should have been left out to better focus on the "happy ending" between the couple. I'm not satisfied with a 10 secondes reunion in which the leads just stare at each other tearfully... Well I guess it could have been worse but I really don't understand what the writer thinks when they decide to incorporate a romance in their story (moreover a romance that takes the majority of the screen time) and conclude the relationship between the 2 characters with a lackluster and abrupt conclusion... (yes I'm very salty about this type of ending that shouldn't exist in any romance production, even if it's to give us a more "realistic" vision). Apart from that, if you want to watch something light and sweet, with some funny moments and great relationships (and character development !) then go give this a chance! Also to be more precise, I didn't watch any other "idol" drama like Imitation and the like, the only one I watched was Dream High and I don't think we can compare the two. So maybe this drama isn't something very enjoyable/new for others but it worked pretty well for me.
Anyone has any idea when the full album with the instrumental tracks is coming out?edit: i.e. The background music…
I would like to know too! I hope it will be soon considering the OST of Our beloved summer was scheduled to be released a few weeks after the drama's ending...
Yes thats what i thought had he not come back would they have escaped ? At least he would be alive but would the…
Yes Soo ho would be alive but maybe if he didn't come back, the "prophecy" with the death of the 13 virgins would have been true then... Because at that point I'm sure the SWAT team would have killed anyone who tried to escape, even the students... Well maybe some of them would have succeeded in escaping but not all of them for sure... So with his death, he really saved them all... :'(
It's different from one which Sooho took, the paper and the material used for writing was different plus the way…
Right both options can be possible... But I admit I tear up if I think too much about Yeoung ro returning to the dorm after all the trauma and leaving the paper plane in memory of him... I would like to think they would take the time and respect to at least bury him in a place where he can rest but it's maybe too much to hope for considering he's just a north spy for the government :(
Wait... it's actually '다들 (everyone/everybody) 보고싶다... (i miss you)먼락 or 언락 *failed to see…
Thank you so much for your precision ! I think it confirms the idea that the paper plane is actually a tribute to Soo ho placed here after his death by Yeong ro... :(
Another question : if Soo ho didn't came back to the dorm during ep 16, how did they plan to escape ?? Because he was the one who took care of the SWAT team... Kang moo had a rifle and Han ha a gun but I don't think it would have been enough to escape without problem... Was it like a suicide mission then ?

I just had an idea ! Considering the words you could read, maybe it was Yeoung ro that wrote it in the form of a "tribute" to Soo ho then ? She placed it herself in the fence because she remembered that it was here he picked up her paper plane, and she surely dosen't know where he is buried, if he is...

Thank you for your reply ! I also thought it was a different one but then I don't understand why the camera focuses on it if the meaning behind it isn't immediately known by the viewers... Maybe you're right and it was a paper plane that they folded together but if I remember correctly they flew it inside the attic and not outside the window... Well it's not an important question but it made me curious haha
Can anyone tell me what was written on the last paper plane we see stuck in the fence at the end of ep 16 ? The camera focused on it but its meaning was lost on me... Was it the same paper plane Soo ho took from the ground outside the dorm that was written by Young ro ? I don't think so because she wrote it using a pencil and here it looked like it was written with a pen?
I had the same question! Do you mean the paper plane Soo ho took from the ground outside the dorm when he came back to recover the weapons ? Because I don't remember he had a paper plane already with him during the blind date... I thought all the paper planes were Young ro's thing

I agree with you ! I couldn't understand her at all. First when they are about to escape by the window (after…
Yep all her reactions concerning Cheong San were a total mystery... I know her character doesn't solely revolve around her relationship with him but I really don't know what the writers wanted to convey when they decided to make her so indifferent and hostile towards her supposedly best friend... Also I don't really think he was mean to her when he was teasing her in the beginning... It was just drama for the sake of drama to be honest, I couldn't even feel pleased when they "kissed"
