Maybe this drama isn't for you because many people actually enjoy it.

Those people who have read the novel would think that Yang Yang did a great job in delivering Song Yan character.

It's confusing at first 3 - 4 episodes and there are a lot of characters too. But later, it'll get better. This show is brilliant.

I've rewatched this drama for more than 10 times and it remains my comfort drama.

Also, this is a female centric drama. So, of course the FL character will stand out more since she is the main character. The reason why the title is "The Legend of Anle" not "The Legend of Han Ye"

Some criticisms toward the ML don't make sense. I know people can have different opinion, but I find it unnecessary to look down on ML while praising the SML.

But Di Ziyuan used to be carefree and playful girl too when she spent time with crown prince in their childhood.

Do your research first. There has been many publications calling out Hollywood for their depictions of arabs and muslims.

Maybe next, people should start making journals and publications too about South Korean racist portrayal of muslims.

Then why many arab people also found those portrayal offensive? At this point, you're invalidating other's culture. Also it's not the first time South Korea did such things in their drama/movies when it comes to describing muslim, arab, asean, and black people.

If you think that way, then what's your opinion about how black people used to be portrayed as bad people, rude and dangerous in films most of the time?

It would be different case if the role was only arab business mogul/CEO. But they use Arab Prince, a member of royal family that holds cultural significance. Their responsibilities are to act in accordance with their cultures.

Yes, not all arabs are muslims but most of the countries will be connected to islam. Many arab countries use star & crescent moon symbol (Islamic symbol) on their flags. Countries like Saudi Arabia & Somaliland even use Shahadah (Islamic oath) on their flags. Not to mention their laws are mostly adopted from sharia laws.

Yes, there are many muslims who smoke, drinking, partying, going to nightclub. But it still doesn't represent the whole community. How many percent of muslims doing all those things compare to others? Arab countries are at the bottom list when it comes to alcohol consumption.

Let me compare it to South Korea.

1) Prevalency of alcohol dependency Rangking: South Korea 10th, Arab 174th
2) Number of nightclubs/bars: South Korea: >100K thousands, Arab: except dubai, other areas barely have nightclubs.

So, yeah this drama is offensive. Especially they use "Arab Prince" for the role. A prince is literally the representative of their nation. Maybe if it was only some business mogul from arab, it wouldn't spark this much of controversy. Stop normalizing racism.

Other than his family past, the parents are just worried about Sang Zhi. Economic status is the issue too. Sang Zhi's parents knew that Duan Jiaxu has a difficult life due to his past. Yes, he has a decent income after graduation but he also still has to pay medical bill of his father.

I think this issue will be resolved quickly. The parents are just worried about DJX status but they are still reasonable. Later, DJX will come to her parents and convince them.

I was skeptical too when I tried to watch this drama. I only started watching because Bai Jingting is a great actor and his dramas never disappoint.

I hope someone edited it to be better.

Idk who wrote the synopsis. But the synopsis sucks.

I actually like the ML character since the beginning and I love to see the process of him growing up to be a great person.
