I completely agree with your interpretation. I could see where both sides were coming from in their confrontation, and it could really have been executed better. At least it's realistic because couples probably do fight like this in real life lol, hitting each other where it hurts just because you can.
If only Bora cut him off, once for all giving him no hope at all like ML done with his ex. But they taking it…
I tried very hard to empathise with Bo-ra but yeah she should've been clear and distanced herself from Ju-wan ASAP. "Friends" my ass lol. What's with all the hemming and hawing this episode... argh
To be fair, he's been deliberately oblique the entire time and he does fit the "non-committal asshole" archetype that Bo-ra instructed her listeners to avoid from the very beginning.
YES actions speak louder than words but ultimately he has provided no assurance or stability to Bo-ra - even Ju-wan was right about that. Bo-ra can be faulted for being unclear, but not for his inability to be (verbally) honest about his feelings.
If BoRa ends up with Ex: my rating 1/10If BoRa ends up with ML: my rating 9/10Writer and Director, decide how…
honestly with ep 13 even if she ends up with ML it's probably 7/10 max for me. The drama managed to pull off such a feat this episode that I have stopped caring for any of the side couples and I'm just flabbergasted that I was made to sit through this. LOL
wow ep 13 was simultaneously brutal and absolutely unacceptable for a penultimate episode. It would be an act of god if this show could satisfactorily wrap everything up (it will not).
- Ju-wan may play an essential role in bringing the central conflict between Bo-ra and Soo-hyuk to the fore, but my blood pressure peaked every time he appeared. Writer-nim, screen time is not meant to be wasted on trash like him. - The same goes for Sang-jin - he should've been kept as a comedic foil and just that. - I CANNOT believe they made Bo-mi pregnant - this is literal character regression. Did she/they not learn anything throughout the series? I actually grew to like her, now I just feel cheated. EVEN IF the drama does a cop-out later and reveals that the pregnancy was a false positive, the damage is done. (And don't touch me with that "he accepts me for who I am" bullshit.) - I was so excited that Yu-jeong finally seemed ready for a divorce but look what we have here in the preview for the last episode??? Playing mind games again??? For the love of god. Why should viewers even care if we are going to watch characters destroy themselves like this.
The only saving grace of this episode was the confrontation between Bo-ra and Soo-hyuk, which is critical for their relationship to last from a character-building perspective. But the hubris was so difficult to sit through - you would think that since they'd spent so much time together, they could've learned to appreciate each others' feelings and actions better.
i agree - their r/s is not well-developed enough. that being said i don’t think she’s a unlikeable character, she’s just young and naive - weren’t we all? hahaha
since everyone has their theories about the meet-cute here’s mine below
soo-hyuk recognised bora immediately (as “the girl from the wedding”) the moment he saw her in the ring shop in ep 1. it’s “foreshadowed” when they’re talking over drinks in ep 12 - when bora is talking about first impressions, and it flashbacks to the ring shop when he looks at her meaningfully.
him making this connection immediately is important because it makes the scene that follows more significant - when bora walks by him seated at the cafe waiting to propose to yu-ri. she gestures to him that “the ring is mine” playfully, and the fact that the girl of his dreams is right in front of him doing that (in his words, a bit of destiny) shocks him so much that he drops the ring.
he figures out that bora is the author of the book only after they meet in the office, which explains his “dislike” for her that follows. but in retrospect we know he never actually disliked her, more likely he was nervous - he even chuckles to himself when he first gets her number and saves her name as “deborah the liar” playfully.
can’t wait to rewatch this drama again after it finishes, lol

Everything else was a waste of time.
I am so disappointed in this drama.
