lately quite a few dramas in China have the same issue. In Wang Kai's drama, as the ML, Wang Kai barely has screen time in each ep, all the plots are around the supporting role. Obviously the company behind the drama is using the NAME of the leading actor for public attention and sponsors. When the drama doesn't receive good reviews, the propaganda bought by the company will blame the leading actor/actress to promote the supporting actor/actress.

Probably lower the expectation for a bit as lots of narrative of Yang Yang's role had been planted to Zhai's role. The director/producer cheated Yang Yang to sign the contract by script A but shot the drama based on script B. Zhai belongs to the director's company which explains everything.

I cant forgive her for going back to her criminal parents after she knew everything tho. In the novel she cut off the tie with her family completely.

wow ppl still debate over FL's character. I watched this drama for firework only. I like how healthy and adorable their friendships are and how realistic and breathtaking they save lives from fire disasters. FL turned to be less annoying in the second half of the drama, but her toxic family kept getting on my nerve that I decided to just screen them out.

The rating means nothing. Quality wise, ZZA deserves much higher. Story started with FL meeting Zhan Zhao, after 2-3 episodes, Zhan Zhao became the center of the narrative. Last 10 eps are the best part of the drama. Yang Yang's acting is phenomenal in ZZA. Don't miss it.

the whole logic is more like Snowstorm Trope. If you watched the original serial, you know Zhan Zhao is the assistant of Bao Zheng, the head officer of Kai Feng, who is a very famous detective. In ZZA, Xiang Zhou could be seen as an isolated mansion, Zhan Zhao as the detective this time needs to collect enough evidence before the police show up and close the case.

The ending is perfect to me. The charisma of Zhan Zhao character was amazing. The fighting between Zhan Zhao and the villain was brutal but extremely beautiful. Will be the best fighting scene in Chinese dramas for a very long time.

No, the director of GOSF is Xu Jizhou, who's one of the best directors in China. The director of Overdo Yi Jun was only Xu Jizhou's assistant in GOSF, not the main and leader one.

Don't worry. FL has very little screen time which is easy to be ignored. I wasn't bothered at all when I was watching the drama.

She annoyed the hell out of me in the first half of the drama. She kept messing up Song Yan's life and kept saying she wanted to be with Song Yan again. When Song Yan finally decided to forgive her for dumping him 10 years ago, she then retreated and said its all over. And then she drunk herself to confess her love again because she's afraid that Song Yan might date her girlfriend, while Song Yan opened his heart and let her decide their future relationship, she retreated again. WTF?! She just kept hurting him again, again and again, which pains me.
