The very depressing film surprised me considering I am not used to this topic from Taiwan. Full of alcohol and drunken stupor (mother, as if deranged younger son Rat), cigarettes, then disability (prostitute Ya Ba), dysfunctional families. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the acting was probably the strongest point of the film (already mentioned, but also the elder son of Shanghe, Ren Shuo). I also didn't mind the sound-music. Processing was the worst for me. I understand that the creators wanted to "darken" the sex scene between Shangh and Shue a bit, but half of the scenes in the movie are so darkened that it hurt my eyes, so I think, not this movie again, at least as a demonstration of very solid acting. Taiwanese Chinese is spoken in the movie and not Mandarin.

Plno alkoholu a opileckého otupění (matka, jakoby pomatený mladší syn Rat), cigaret, dále zdravotní postižení (prostitutka Ya Ba), nefunkční rodiny. Přesto herecké výkony byly dle mě asi tou nejsilnější stránkou filmu (už dříve vyjmenovaní, ale i starší syn Shanghe, Ren Shuo).

"Best Filipino Movie Ever". Well, in my opinion, it no longer applies. Yes, I can include it among the better films of this country, so much tested in the past by the immense poverty that was already sown by the Spanish colonizers of the time and perfected by the Americans. On the other hand, this country is the only island of Christianity in the sea of Buddhism, Taoism and Islam that is coming from the south, many inhabitants have parts of words or whole Spanish words in their names and speak completely differently than the surrounding countries, including the fact that they speak a second language after filipino and tagalog is filipino english. The film gave me a lot, but it has already shown the ravages of time. What I appreciate most is the conveyance of that time, poverty, lack of law and crime, solid acting. The story isn't bad either. It is worse with the feeling itself, the perception of the whole story, because I only had a very bad copy at my disposal, otherwise it would certainly be much deeper.
So goodbye, Julio and Ligayo (the actors of the main characters are still alive today).

"Nejlepší filipínský film všech dob". Tak to už dle mě dávno neplatí. Ano, mohu jej zařadit mezi ty lepší filmy této země, tolik v minulosti zkoušené nesmírnou chudobou, kterou už zaseli tehdejší španělští kolonizátoři a dokonali Američané.

An above-average series with a plot different from most of the HIStory series, I was particularly interested in the main couple. Jake Hsu in the role of a policeman was really cute, in some scenes he reminded me of a 16-year-old plucked-eared boy, whose wiry figure is precisely intended for teaching martial arts and karate. In fact, he was 28 years old at the time of filming and played his character convincingly. The plot didn't drag on, on the contrary, in some moments I was even afraid of "what hasn't happened yet" and the references to the past were good so that the viewer could better understand the plot. If it was a combination of state power and crime, I would have easily married the other couple for the sake of believability. Excellent Taiwanese product.

A series that caught my attention, mainly because of the choice of actors, the acting was really top notch (Wayne-Hao Ting was top class and Wilson-Bo Xiang was great in his youth). I also agree with Extasy that the Taiwanese series are different from the often "laced" Thai series, they are closer to the eye of the European viewer, more natural, the plot has a faster flow and does not drag on like a snot.
It took me a while to get used to the characters. The athletic, tall and fit Hao Ting and the skinny greeting from Dachau Xi Gu. The second couple was with me from the beginning without a problem (young Bo Xiang and bistro owner Zho Gang). The parents and sister were also very well chosen. Overall, I rate it highly, only the conclusion in the year when the marriage of same-sex couples was legalized in the country, they could forgive themselves. But even here Wayne showed himself and "transformed" with his excellent acting, perhaps we can look forward to the second one that is shown on MDL, which will hopefully be - HIStory4: Make Our Days Count 2 and Wayne should play the main role there again...

Atletický, vysoký a vysportovaný Hao Ting a vyzáblý pozdrav z Dachau Xi Gu. Druhá dvojice byla u mě od začátku bez problému (mladý Bo Xiang a majitel bistra Zho Gang). Velmi dobře byli vybráni i rodiče a sestra.

I like Buddhism and its theory of reincarnation, reincarnation, and the bottom line, the story of this series is the most interesting for me. That's why the story is 10, even if it starts "terrifyingly tragically".
Otherwise, I evaluate the processing, prepare for an even slower pace than "normally" slow are Thai series of this type, sometimes stilted, weepy, but that's probably how it should be and it's actually a flowing drama, when in some parts there is a gradual uncovering and understanding who they really are in the thicket of Pharm and Dean's tangled family generations and sometimes those who "believe" get chills down their spines, others who mainly look for faults remain cold.

I don't have much to complain about the acting, I rate the level of acting not by Meryl Streep, but by these series, some of them shined (surprisingly for me, Manaow, Koi's grandmother, Wina's relaxed speech and some others.). I can't even condemn Dean and Korn as actors, whose characters were written this way and they were both damn hot.
The music is fine, because if you have a longer series, you simply get used to the central theme of the songs. I also see a positive in the fact that this project creates a positive, realistic relationship with gays, despite the fact that there will be a tragedy at the beginning - it is treated with respect throughout the series and not as a farce. I RECOMMEND it to all sensitive souls.

Odsuzovat herecky nemohu ani Deana a Korna, jejichž postavy takto byly napsány a oba byli zatraceně sexy.

I laughed with gusto many times. How to perceive this series must be in the person himself (he must understand Asia) to distinguish the subtlety of the playback here, which is brought here in a spicy form deliberately sometimes to the point of pie creation and complements the overall comic, from some other Asian productions, where naivety, the snobbery or the twistedness is too much for non-Asian viewers. Those who don't get it will condemn the series unnecessarily, but that's their business, not mine. The main thing is that everything has not slipped into a set of "western" sitcoms, when the viewer is "forced" to laugh at every stupid thing in the form of constantly imposed "laughing viewers". Here, the viewer is left with room to consider how to react. This excellent Thai part just ended in January 2021 and I can only write that it was a really nice experience.
Both main characters here are very original. A frail and youthful looking Chonlatee and a sporty type Tonhon with a chest tattoo (which has a meaning in the story - Navigator vs. Ocean). In addition to light entertainment, deeper thoughts also appear in the series, e.g. in one of the late episodes, Chonlatee's mother Nam literally flashes in an argument: "...BETTER TO BE HATED FOR WHAT YOU ARE THAN TO BE LOVED FOR WHAT YOU ARE NOT... .” and I also appreciate the overall message, the attitude towards men who like men, which certainly has an impact on the audience.
The two other gay characters Ai and Nhai (Ni) are also excellent, and the girls Miriam and Pang also contributed to the good fun. There are quite a few fans of these series here at GT, and I definitely recommend this piece to them.

Lust or love at first sight or both? A small pebble from a line called life. And quite a good one.
"If you lose, I'll be on top."
"And if I win, we'll see each other every day after that."

A docela povedený.

What to write... I watched the uncut version of the film, 2:11:26 long. A touching film, even sad, and confirms my assumption that some older Thai films that touch on the issue of BL or just love as such are worth watching. A trio of stories, where I was most interested in the story of the first two guys, the second is dominated by the experienced actress Tai Penpak Sirikul, whom we know here at GT, for example from the heartbreaking film It Gets Better, the third story is a bit lengthy for me, but we will learn the answer in it, how the first story developed and Buajan also appears there. A film where it doesn't just say "I love you", but convinces the viewer that love is much deeper than just words. A film that will make the viewer smile and cry.

One nation and two regimes.

One nation and two regimes. In one, one man decides everything and everyone, in the other, he would like to decide (see recent political problems). I was completely shocked by the beginning, where behind the propaganda texts read by crazy North Korean announcers, two North Korean soldiers are greedily kissing and then having sex in an explicit scene. The film probably won't be for everyone, but it appealed to me with its harsh reality to the bone, the ending is different than I expected, but I have to admit that, fitting the story and at the very end, the scene with Jae Sung brought tears to my eyes. An immense symposia by Kim Tae Hoon in the role of Youn Joon, even though with a Thai cap on his head. The acting is superb and all three gentlemen had a great time in those revealing scenes. A deep, sad, misunderstood by many and depressing film with beautiful, subtle background music about relationships between men, hard life and a divided Korea.

So it was a total cut ... well, rather a cut, and I can understand that some viewers will take it as a game, an exaggeration, a sudden search for "something" in today's hurried, chaotic and Internet era, and will evaluate this "effort" solidly, and three other viewers condemns the film. Nevertheless, the film scored victories and nominations at festivals such as Sundance, QCinema, Sunny Bunny, Society of Filipino. Therefore, I rather do not recommend the film.

The story of this sad comedy was probably not only very strong for me, and the end of the film only confirmed it for me, which is also proven by the three wins and a large number of nominations of this film at film festivals, but ...
The way I'm used to trances mainly from RuPaul's competitions (and that there are still many different kinds of competitions), but mostly good to excellent professionals perform there. Filipinos, on the other hand, are known in their film projects for often horrible, mocking, grinning trans people, and actually these people do not have a good reputation in the audience world, and I was a bit bothered by the second roles of "miracles" of the two main characters Mark and John, otherwise two well-known and excellent and sympathetic Filipinos actors (Guzmán+Gamboa), when I didn't believe their "hands" and femininity for an inch and these scenes had a rather repulsive effect on me. Damage.

Subtle, short, predictable, simple, but it had that "something" at least in part, and I didn't mind at all that Day is 9 years older than Mem. The boys especially struggled with the kissing. The way Day was in that icy lake almost shaking with the cold and his nipples were like antennae from the cold made me smile.... 😜

I liked the short precisely because it was informative, believable, true, it didn't play on anything, and because the creators filmed it just like that and not otherwise. That's the Korean characteristic - to be yourself. Many viewers will not like this short film and will look for any flaw to justify their rating or even disappointment. It's a forgotten work of cinema over ten years old and underrated, and it gave me exactly what I expected.

This short pinoy film told me what he had. Viewers who can and understand the Philippine production with all its mistakes and missteps will certainly be interested in the fact that the farmer after the loss of his beloved wife went completely crazy and the originally antagonistic relationship between the farmer and the activist became dull and secondary. Both the main protagonists cut these roles two years before playing the main characters in Lodi. I do not recommend this short to most viewers, especially critical ones, don't waste your time.

Originally a strange Hong Kong film about a fulfilled, partially fulfilled or unfulfilled life. Deliberately (?) melted edge between love, friendship, relationship, sex, nice bodies, a bit of Asian nudity (you mean a huge bunch of hair with a little camp girl), passing the plot slowly and yet not losing its distinct depth, evoking a reality in me as if from a part of my life and the life of many others ... just according to me and my experience, even open-minded gays and straights can understand each other even in bed, and the subtitles, if they were two lines, sometimes flashed by so quickly that I couldn't finish reading. The film will remain in my soul for a long time

Originálně zvláštní hongkongský film o naplněném, částečně naplněném či nenaplněném žítí. Záměrně (?) roztavená hrana mezi láskou, přátelstvím, vztahem, sexem, hezká těla, trochu asijské nahoty (rozuměj obrovský houf chlupů s malým camprlíčkem), ubíhající dějově pomalu a přesto neztrácející svou výraznou hloubku, ve mě vyvolávající reálnost jakoby z části z mého života i života mnohých jiných ... jen dle mě a mých zkušeností si i gay a hetero otevřené mysli mohou rozumět i v posteli a titulky, pokud byly dvouřádkové, se tam někdy tak rychle mihly, že jsem nestačil dočíst. Film zůstane dlouho v mé duš
