this is the only drama i've been looking forward to since it's okay to not be okay ended...hopefully it comes at the end of the year at least so i can watch after exams :(
i'm always amused to see the difference in ratings on mdl and douban (chinese rating site) for any type of asian drama...i think c-netz just tend to be harsh and their comments are kinda funny, i'll give this drama a try since the reviews here are good
is this drama worth the hype? i've been seeing a lot of great comments on both chinese/western platforms alike! i'm not usually a huge fan of song weilong's acting as i feel like he's more visual than actual skill, will this change my mind? i'll definitely give it a try if it's as good as it seems :)
When you say netizen you mean the antis? Are they really that huge in number that it shakes these multicorporations…
i personally don't believe it is such a mass amount of antis - rather, because of how serious the covid situation has been and still is, maybe stations want to be more careful in how "clueless" they come off as now so not to discredit the hard work of medical workers. at the end of the day it may not even be that, as these are rumors, and simply that they are having internal disagreements on airing dates that are completely unrelated.
here's the current conflict: mango tv (online streaming) and hunan weishi (one of the biggest broadcast stations in chn) cannot agree on an airing date. lots of tension comes from backlash of netizens. if you know xz, you know about his controversy from earlier this year, which was at the worst possible time bc of covid's peak. he's also playing a doctor in this drama, so netizens are warning the stations to be careful of inaccuracies and his "reputation". yes, it's not his fault, but the effects will follow him everywhere. it's actually common for cdramas to have unreliable airing dates and air long after filming (if you're new to this), but this situation is quite particular. we can only hope the aug schedule still pulls through.
sina entertainment page on weibo has confirmed an august air date! although iqiyi hasn't confirmed the air schedule it would be hypocritical for their infos to clash especially since so many people are waiting for it eagerly. let's try to put our worries aside :)
if someone hugged me and stroked my hair the same way kang tae did...i think i'd pass out LMAO i'm so touch deprived. on another note that scene was just insanely well done! props to seo yeji for always taking on such emotionally draining roles, it must be tough.
it's really interesting to me how some people are portraying juri as this villanous character and hate her so much. i personally really enjoy her so far and don't find her irritating. honestly all her actions have been pretty reasonable if you look at it from her perspective. i feel like the writers thought her out well enough that she's not shallow, especially since kdrama side characters tend to be super extreme. her interaction with her mom was also super funny! so i'm actually excited to see what path her character will take. (also i'm so in love with the osts so far !!!)
lotssss of rumors this past week on weibo saying that it's slated for an august 9th air date, edits have been made to the official episode guide and xiaozhan got a sina interview ? take that with a grain of salt if you will but i'm betting on an august release
What are you talking about? Lee Jong Suk will never be out of trend. His followers in weibo and instagram is still…
no, i'm not saying lee jong suk or korean actors in general are out of trend. it's just the fact that since korean-chinese relations aren't the best right now, it is less likely for dramas with BOTH korean and chinese actors appearing onscreen together to air.
does anyone know if this drama is pre-produced? i know netflix kdramas tend to be, but considering that it's a tvn drama i'm not sure. anyways the main leads look incredible and their chemistry is literally oozing offscreen !! <3
i'm convinced that this won't ever air, considering the fact that it's super outdated (filmed in 2016 before the hallyu ban in china) and there's no way to do promotions. dramas with both korean and chinese actors are also not really trendy anymore in either countries. the only reason why they'll air it is probably to pay off production costs or something, but realistically i don't see it happening. it's best not to keep your hopes up.
My favorites in here but they just won’t release it please release it already! I thought it was suppose to be…
adding onto what janec said, they got the greenlight yesterday! it apparently came from a screenshot by production staff on weibo so it should be reliable, and it's rumored on some websites that the drama will air in august. hopefully it'll be sooner than that though.
debating between watching this or extracurricular while waiting for all the kdramas coming on netflix in june (it's okay to not be okay, sweet home, school nurse files etc) - for anyone watching so far, how much would you recommend? the ratings seem to be on the lower end...
