How many of you would just say "f#$% Enchante" and go with Gawin?
Although if Sun comes back from Paris it would be a tough choice.
I'm having trouble maintaining interest in this. I think there are two problems. One is that Theo is really, really dull. Second, since we all know who he'll end up with, who cares who Enchante is? It just doesn't matter, and since that's the central plot, it's hard to engage with the series.
It feels like Akk is carrying this, and it's just not enough, although more peach scenes would help.
Jao is really adorable with his pouting. I enjoy SkyJao more than the leads because they are much more natural…
I don't think I could have been friends with you in High School, lol.
I have the same feeling about the show - Toh is kind of icky, and I don't find him funny or sympathetic. Jao, on the other hand, is cute and I like his holding the line against Sky.
I'll probably skip most of the Toh story except all the times Nuea takes off his shirt.
Who carries around a band-aid in their wallet? I guess ifs you're a seme you need to, since ukes can't walk or be near anything metal without injuring themselves. I was going to say "sharp", but now apparently even zippers are deadly to ukes.
I usually hate the boy-boy-girl triangle, but in this case it's an all-out bitch-fight, so I'm OK with it.
Sky & Kao are a bit intriguing, since we've rarely seen the seme pusuing an uninterested uke, although he's probably playing uninterested since it's a "game".
This is OK, but it's so silly & juvenile that I get bored. Like who lets their phone ring for THAT long,? There's too much incredibly long pausing, like before they got into Nuea's car. If used sparingly at the right moments, it could be funny, but because it's ALWAYS, it's just tiresome. Also, I just don't like Toh - he needed to be more sympathetic to balance out his utterly psycho obsession. What is ge going to do with that crab? It's going to rot and smell so bad people will call emergency services. And lying about the kiss is pathetic.
I typed this while taking needed breaks from the ep.
i really don't know how to feel about this maybe i'm too grown up ?? the second hand embarassment is too much.…
I'm right there with you. Especially the scenes where people stand around staring like before they got into Nuea's car. That was just ridiculous and a little rude. I guess it was supposed to be funny or something?
I don't think that was transphobic at all. His fear is what was portrayed as ridiculous, not the character, and…
One thing that's getting lost is that sexual and emotional attraction ARE linked to gender.
Everyone Trans has the right to be treated with respect and dignity. But that does not confer a right to be found attractive. If a lesbian is not attracted to women with penises, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. That's valuing one person's gender identity over another's.
The childish representation of sex unfortunatelly it's a thai thing. Ive seen in so many sereis now that I'm used…
Totally agree. Misogyny and homophobia are closely linked - that the uke or woman has to resist and be forced is because women are not supposed to seek sexual pleasure (and nobody cares if they have any), just like it is not acceptable for a man to seek and enjoy bottoming.
Essentially, being penetrated is less morally acceptable than sexual assault or coersion. That's why uke sex resistance bothers me. It's deeply misogynist, because the uke is a substitute for a girl, as well as homophobic.
In BL, the focus is always on the pain of bottoming, as if it's a sacrifice the uke is called upon to make in exchange for the privilege of handing over all his agency to the seme, who he requires to "take care of him".
What did he do that’s illegal? It’s all pretty light childish things so far. Chill out.
Teasing is part of socialization and is an important means by which people form friendships. If it gets into dangerous or hurtful hazing or bullying, then that's something else. If I refused to associate with everyone that's ever teased me, I'd have no friends.
Anyone who can't take a little teasing is likely a humorless twat that you don't want as a friend anyway. The lack of ability to distinguish between teasing and malignant bullying is concerning. I've been finding at work that for many young workers, there's no difference between insufficient positive reinforcement and visceral hatred.
I blame my own generation for over-parenting. I'm just thinking about what would have happened if I'd complained either to the administration at school or my parents if someone wrote on my face. My parents would laugh at me and the school would tell me to stop being a whiny little troublemaker.
These are the same people who basically gave shows like 2gether a 10. Which had horrendous acting and poor chemistry…
For some reason when it's a Korean BL the comments section gets, as the kids these days say, toxic.
Many people seem to be unable to tolerate differing opinions - so what's good and bad is "objectively" whatever their opinion is. If they like something, then you are a troll if you criticize it. If they don't like it, you are a neo-Nazi who rapes puppies for fun if you do like the series.
Don’t blame the actor if you don’t like the character and also don’t watch the show than if you don’t…
It's unbelievable that you can't see the difference between what J100 did, which is criticize a single aspect of a work of fiction, and what you did, which is launch a personal attack. You're right, though, it's not necessarily childish - it could also be malignant narcissism.
Don’t blame the actor if you don’t like the character and also don’t watch the show than if you don’t…
I have to correct you - it's OK to be negative if THEY don't like it. In that case, it's unacceptable for you to like it. It means you're a toxic gaslighter.
Don’t blame the actor if you don’t like the character and also don’t watch the show than if you don’t…
I don't always agree with J100, but calling someone's opinion "wrong" is itself objectively "wrong". I find it really telling that you don't think it's possible for people that don't agree to be friends. My closest BL friend likes things that I can't believe anyone could force themselves to watch.
J100 made one critical comment in this section, and all of the rest were positive - in fact in the comment you were responding to, J100 was looking forward to the next episode, and in an other comment said it should be illegal to be as good-looking as PSH.
So what you're saying is that someone who doesn't agree with you 100% is a troll.
Frankly, J100 was criticizing one aspect of an episode of light entertainment. You were launching a personal attack against an actual human being. One is critiquing something in the forum intended for that very purpose - the other is bullying.
A genuine question. I swear I'm not trying to star a fight. What does the fact the show is based on a webtoon…
I can't agree or not because what you're saying didn't make sense. You can act like a child if you like, I've come to expect it in discussion sections for Korean BLs - I don't know what it is about them that brings out the immaturity in people, but there it is.
I am supporting it in the Viki app, and I don't care that the budget is low - but I do care that the writing is…
Normally I would not agree, but these eps are so short that there's not enough time to let a scene develop, so I do agree with you. In this format a different type of story was needed, like a slice of life story. Either that or it should be in "real time", maybe an action film that covers a period of time equal to the runtime.
I think you need at least 15 minutes for a story like this to work. By contrast, Semantic Error has ep run times of 20 min - it makes a huge difference, and I really like it so far.
The childish representation of sex unfortunatelly it's a thai thing. Ive seen in so many sereis now that I'm used…
I wouldn't mind if they just didn't show much - Bad Buddy showed almost nothing, for example, but the characters behaved age-appropriate. It's the way in most BLs that grown men act like they're 12. TBH, it turns the whole thing creepy. because it looks like the uke doesn't want it and the seme is trying to force it.
i know everyone has their own opinions and i respect that, but isn't the rating a little to low?? like the production,…
8.2 is actually not that low. Bad Buddy had an 8.6 and I Told Sunset About You was also an 8.2 and it was much better than this show. The rating will probably climb slightly when the moral police ease up after they become friends.
What did he do that’s illegal? It’s all pretty light childish things so far. Chill out.
100%. If he felt threatened, he would say so, and then only after that the behavior would be problemmatic. People are setting an incrediby low bar for "bullying" and "psycho stalking", which usually results in someone being raped and murdered, not having their face drawn on.
What did he do that’s illegal? It’s all pretty light childish things so far. Chill out.
He took that apartment before he even knew who his neighbor was - it's just a coincidence. Going to your own apartment is not stalking. In fact he wasn't even the person who issued the first invitation to meet. He would never be able to get law enforcement to view this as staking and they'd like scold him and tell him to man up.
