why’s this have so little ratings and comments it seems pretty popular on social media

for some reason they tried to compress the entire main story of weak hero into 8 35-40 minute episodes. clearly didn't work - if they just adapted season 1 of the webtoon which ends with the Si-eun vs Seong-je fight (which btw is 100x better in the source material) this show would have been so much better

Beom Seok had a whole origin story what are you talking about 😭and no it's very much hard to figure out why Baekjin became evil, there's no explanation for why he turned out that way and no way to figure out. He clearly isn't a psychopath considering how he still cares about Hu-min, his evil-ness isn't explained at all whatsoever and there's no way you 'read between the lines' and understood the reason why he came evil. It's not explained at all, you'd have to just be making things up in your head. Actions, dialogue, quotes and whatnot aren't enough to make up for what the show lacks also. A show can have all of that but if its plot and characters aren't fleshed out enough it will still be incredibly lacking. Humin's relationship with Si-eun for example developed WAYYY too quickly. Compared to the webtoon counterpart he barely knew a thing about Si-eun yet cried over him and cared as much as he did. It was incredibly rushed.

What 😭 the most important characters got the development they needed, the ML is much more developed than his k-drama counterpart. Compare his starting point in the show vs the webtoon and the difference is very drastic, having a backstory that was explored more in depth ≠ more character development. What do you mean the only character with a decent backstory?! Depressing ≠ good the other characters had good backstories as well that explained how they ended up as they are in fine detail. The drama not only rids almost every character except Si-eun of their backstory but the two who did have a backstory have an extremely underdeveloped and vague one. Why did Baekjin end up bad? We don't know. Why did he start the Union? We don't know. Why did he choose all that over his friendship with Hu-min? We don't know. Saying the drama took the story and characters much deeper is frankly ridiculous, every aspect of it is underdeveloped. Si-eun's arc in season 2 pales in comparison to his development that occurs in the first season of the webtoon.

After like 3 episodes I just skimmed through the parts that involved the main villain and any uninteresting side characters that had no importance to the plot (I understood the story as it went on perfectly despite that), I finished it 5 minutes ago and forgot her name already - the plot is the main focal point of the show but is boring and the actually interesting part (mc & fl relationship) is underdeveloped by the end of the show

very good and fun drama but I wish the last few episodes focused less on the NIS plot line 😭felt like a watered down version of cheon seo-jin & ha eun-byeol's storyline from the penthouse

- my favourite types of dramas are ones that balance multiple genres well, for this it'd be action, drama, romance, comedy etc and for the first half/three quarters it did that very well, but it kinda fell off a cliff near the end
- still a solid 7.5/10 first 8-ish episodes are an 8/8.5 though imo

'Love' doesn't have to be romantic. Si-eun is in love with Su-ho, that much is obvious. Shippers just take anything and everything at face value which is why they're saying 'ohh they are gay because the director said this and that' SHSE as a ship is not canon. Frankly I avoid shippers in this fandom because their personalities are insufferable, exemplar 1: a commenter on the WHC1 page who recently stated 'if you don't think that these characters are gay you are media illiterate' and 'straight people are media illiterate', but this is just ridiculous levels of stupid 😂

just wrote a comment in one of the discussion posts 'TOP 5 STRONGEST CHARACTERS IN WEAK HERO DRAMA SERIES' regarding why Su-ho is the strongest in the verse. Please debate me if you want 🙏 this topic is interesting to me especially since I'm a manhwa fan and power-scaling is something I'm familiar with
