Yes that much is entirely obvious, but his characters personality is original. The personality traits of the other characters are typical for kdramas and webtoons and webtoon adaptations so I don’t think they were based on the main story’s characters

No ahn suho is original, Alex go is meshed with gerard, kang wooyoung is also an original, and wolf isn’t meshed with anyone he’s exactly ljke he is in the manhwa

If it helps, from what I can tell they're meshing him with Gogo. He interrupts Si-Eun and Colton's fight and swings a very precise kick with high confidence at Colton, which he could never do in the webtoon. Seems very Gerard'y to me.

as a hardcore webtoon reader this is what I and everyone else should be expecting, I mean season 1 strayed very far from the webtoon, I don't know why people are expecting it to be different this time around 😭

Agreed, but I don't see what else they could do. They can't fit all the content, and if they were to add more characters they'd struggle to pay enough attention to/flesh out the existing ones.

Seems like they'll definitely be shown in season 2 in flashbacks. I first thought the flashbacks could just be edited clips from season 1, but there was a shot of Si-Eun sitting in the boxing ring which didn't exist. They will definitely appear in flashbacks, and considering fan demands Su-ho will likely appear at the very end.

Yeah I also remember you, in fact I remember all of the people who used to actively comment here when it wasn't popular lol. Personally I really like it, it'd take a while to list everything I thought was good about it but some examples include the characters' personalities (ben/humin/baku seems to be very comic accurate, and they've meshed Gerard with Alex which I'm also a fan of). Only complaint I have is Donald/Baekjin 😭he has no tattoos in none of the scenes we can see of him, yet he had them in season 1? I wonder if they're just gonna hope people forget. Anyway I do wish they made him look less generic, like at a bare minimum have hand/neck tattoos. I also wish they did something with the season 1 characters (though they could! it's not out yet) - for example replacing manwol with the gang from season 1, I mention this because we've already seen manwol in the teaser so I don't think that'll be happening. I'm going to guess that other than Si Eun's trauma they'll just forget about everything else from season 1 such as Kang Woo-young, Young-yi and Seok-dae 😭

3 years, 20+ rewatches, hundreds of comments here, thousands of messages in the weak hero kdrama channel, a fancast made, editing account made, a screenplay for s2 made (in my head), and overall a crazy obsession with this show 😭

‘butchered’ and ‘altered’ are very different words, they obviously won’t be able to compress a 260+ chapter manhwa into an 8 episode show

because by the time they’re on season 3 some of the actors will look 40 it’s just not possible

we know how strong si eun is compared to sooho, therefore comparing si eun from beginning of manhwa to si eun from whc1 i conclude suho is ben park level
