Plot wise ? Yes. It becomes hype because of ending. Nothing new in the story line. But if you have ever have first crush in high school, this drama is like a trip to your memory lane; fall for that cute guy in the same club that turned out like you too. It's nostalgic and the actors safe majority of story line by their acting. I personally will give the plot 6/10. But seeing KYJ running around helping her friend get her crush, remind me of my school life when everything just simple and fun and honest. For that bring the old feeling alone, I will give this movie 8/10. So, if you just want to feel nostalgic, and have good smile, try this. But if you expect like original quality youth drama, this plot won't surprise you .

No romance at all ? Even just fling ?

Japan don't make this kind of drama anymore. Smart dialogue, good plot, good acting, good directing. NWP is not coming of age drama, it's about life lesson surviving against judgemental society in order to be "acceptable". This drama doesn't have any Japan drama cliche, sometimes I couldn't believe this was produced by Japan creator (except the craziness part of character that remind me of silliness of anime).I recommend this drama for all people who likes the story about understanding life.

Aoi and Eita reunion after Sukida when they played classmates in high school. Sukida is one of Japan movie with beautiful cinematography I've ever watched. I am happy to see them pairing again after so long.

Ikuta toma does bring the best version of Nakatsu (even more than manga). His comical expression and his acting timing, really outshine in this drama, even surpassed his gorgeous looking. Oguri's sano is still behind cho min ho's Sano,tho. Hana Kimi best in portraying fun, and friendship of youth, while Korean version lack of it.

well, to be fair, most high rating Chinese dramas in mydramalist have bunch of decent male leads characters, e.g Li bu yi in LLTG : a gentleman, Zou Shiye in Our Secret: Friendly, fun, and approachable genius, Ke Lei in You Are My Hero: strict as captain, funny as hell as boyfriend, Ling Xiao in Go ahead : Responsible type of boyfriend despite have mental health problem, etc. But I do admit, the "ISWAK revival era", has brought drama world (kdrama/jdrama/cdrama) to over produce the same theme story between "the cold rude genius boy and the stupid girl". although, as avid fan of ISWAK, Jiang Zi Shu actually not cold and rude character. He's more on reserved and get-it-together kind of guy. He only acted "cold and rude" toward Xiang Qin, not because she's lower than him in study, but because she"stress" him out since he never met a girl like Xiang Qin before that gave him so much "trouble" in life. In fact, he's still nice and polite toward other people. but somehow, the ISWAK wannabe tried to combine Jiang Zi Shu character with Dao Ming She (the mega drama Meteor Garden) and they associated genius with arrogant/cold trait toward not-so-smart people.
and, yes, IU is a queen.

imo, the story will be much better :
1. IF they show more the struggle of Mi Ka to be neurosurgeon and more on her daily life as young residence. I really enjoy when she suddenly moved to ER team and overcame her own insecurity, dealing with failure. But as she's back to neurosurgeon department, everything become to good to be true for her storyline. just as Ke Lei have stepback in his jobs when he has brain tumor, I kind wish Mi Ka also have her own setback story.
2. IF Dr Zhao never have past romance with Ke Yao. And instead, they should have started romance when they just meet in present time. I think it would be nice as Dr Zhao is very talented doctors and it's normal for his character to work hard in his younger years and put aside romance. I'll definitely invest in more adult first love romance.
3. IF there has never been 2ML for 2nd couple. It's really unnecessary heartbreak. Love story between "rich girl and poor boy" already interesting enough.
4.IF the 2nd couple love story is the filler distributed in several episodes instead of become one of main theme in some episodes.
5.IF they have been broken up before Mi Ka go abroad. Then the hostage story have more impact as they "re-fall in love" as they meet again after years.
6.IF Ke Lei don't pretend to be doctor , and should have shown more scenes on police tactic and strategy dealing with hostage situation. He really didn't have plan when he's going inside. if you want to make it Speed situation, you better make it at least interesting.
7.and the most important one, IF THEY HAVE MORE KISSES.

I wanted to give this drama 9 but I will settle for 8.5. It's started strong until middle. I don't want to say boring, but it feels like anti climax. It's started focusing more on romance instead of their professional story (which I truly believe is the gem of this drama).It's no even t the main lead romance since their romance kind of settle in former episodes. Of course viewers are spoiled with some lovey dovey moment between main leads. But when you have a doctor and a policeman love story, you kind of want spice things up a little bit or bring romance to more on "melodramatic" side . Don't get me wrong, they do have one of mature relationship we've all viewers ever wanted for (they are both silly and hilarious and sweet, all at the same time). It's just the story feel mundane and nothing much happened. The first half gave effort on telling their jobs, struggle in career, too bad it was more less and less as story progress. It's still overall good quality drama, but I just feel the story could have done better.

Ouch. LITC is a mess tho 😔

Just starting to notice CZ in our secret. I like how he delivered his character there. proceed with all about a secret,his earlier work.while his acting shows some prominent there,the bad storytelling and how they wrote his character, made me could not appreciate his acting. XL wise,still can't not move on from LLG couples 😭. But Saoshang transition from 15 yo to 20 yo women was done perfectly by her. Her character, her face, even her voice just change like that. So, I am eager to see her works more. She has a lot of drama going on,but most of them just not my cup of tea.

From the leak scene it seems he's already in college, not high school tho.

I actually don't mind with the age gap,like My Mister. Goblin case,the FL is so childish, that I have a hard time seeing grown up man saw her as potential fiancee when she's still 17 (except with period drama, cause the proper age for women to get married is quite young). If she's young and shows some maturity (like Doctors), i guess it's okay,but Kim go eun portrayed her character as normal 17 high school girl. It's just mess up in my mind 😂.but from answer here,it seems more like childhood crush that eventually get into mature relationship once all of main leads in proper age.

Then you should know better. And what exactly the mom did? she meant well.but your mouth that instantly tell to punch your own mom because she give you tough love, showed how entitled you are as a kid.

Ok.I can live with that.in Goblin, ML was flirting and confess his love even when FL still act like toddler.the gorgeousness of Gong Yoo could not buy me to continue watching 😭

Hope so. Love like galaxy also she's being 15 and Buyi being 20. I don't feel ick. But, it's different era. I think I will skip the junior high era and start watching when she's in college instead. Lol.

But she's a girl, not even women yet.how come she has romantic feeling over college student ? Admire ? Ok. Love? I remember being 14 and crazy over boybands. But real life older man ,,🙈
