Big age gap not issue here. But being 20 fall in love with 30 something man is not the same like 14 fall for 20. 14 is just just just too small. I took a peek on tiktok the manhua, and they portrayed her as this little cutie. I guess if she's 14 but has mature thinking, look mature, it's okay. But she's literally this bubbly 14 years old little girl. ML will be 21, college senior,almost a gentleman. And they have scene where he's sort of "date" with her ?? I want to see Lusi but I am afraid I will get ick feeling. Is there any way the story really interesting ? Sigh. The goblin is so much fun but I couldn't even finish it since the FL acted too childish. And I can't not see how a man fell for child with childish behaviour.

I watched movie version then this drama version. From movie, chi zi character is much much much more understandable than drama. In movie, she just this clueless kid who thinks she knows all,but ends up correcting her mistake in mature way. Drama version ? She's borderline villain.I don't get the writer. How come they make her so difficult ? She literally put tantrum on everything,like every small thing. And she did out of shallow reason, her "jealousy". She's 17, for God sake, not 10. She did come to her sense, but it's almost like in ep 20ish. Viewer patience tested for almost 10 episodes back. I feel bad for her actually. The ML shows nothing. Even in her worst time,the 2ML did all the work to be there for her. The ML was too busy with his own problem and share nothing. sometimes out of the blue he showed some compassion, but mostly just leave the FL misunderstood all the time. Their romance is doom from the start.

The Movie version gave more narrative to FL and ML character. And FL was so lovely there. Don Bowen movie is a mature character that look out for chi zi childish behaviour. While chi zi is his support system in a way that she's a home to him to go back to. CZ tried to be knows-it-all character not out of her jealousy,but genuine concern for DB. I feel like she acted more like "annoying" sibling to DB,but he always forgave her no matter what.

If you still prefer to watch cause the actors, try drama first and heal your soul with the movie version. Chen ze yuen good act already shown here. If you expect him to be like Siyuen character,prepare to be disappointed. let's say DB more like Siyuen in his first college years, and nonchalant about FL feeling.

For those who has read the novel, is it going to be like, I dunno, icky? When junior high student fall in love with senior in college ? I want to watch, but I can not get the fact why she would fall for college student when she's only 14 ? The same I could not pass Goblin. It is just to weird for me.

With tons of youth cdrama that tackles almost the same story line, secret fruit story felt like a new breath to youth drama. I did enjoy every bit of the movie. It's beautiful, the dialogue seems have more depth than others. Nothing grand about the romance plot,and kind of slow burn, but this is movie. So,you kinda watched it and knew that everything would happen in next two hours. I give the movie 9/10.

It's not that she's not smart,it's just she's not passionate enough to go up and beyond in computer science.and this is in China. I guess, science department quite common for "average asian student" to get into, and most people just going through without being high achiever in their major. And yes, siyue did go abroad and graduated there before came back at the same time Xian graduated.

It has the same vibe with Put Your Head In My Shoulder for high school era, but much much much better cause we have FL character that interesting and have its own character development, and FL and ML character that more relatable. It's 8.5/10 for me for high school era. It's down to 7.5/10 for college era. Mostly due to FL character that started to feel annoying. Thanks God writer came to him/her senses (as well as FL senses), made the show slightly up to 8/10. I don't put as much high as school era cause it's started to get a bit cliche toward end. It's still sweet but not as sweet and "awwww" moment as in high school. The acting of ML on point, he has good crying expression, but need to improve on kiss scene 😁. Overall, it's solid 8/10 for me. And compare to other famous high school Chinese drama,this drama actually have higher ranking compare to all. But of course it's still below ISWAK (the original) in term of passage of life-theme drama.

Nah, ML doesn't have instant crush on her. At first he just remembered her from the past. In first episode,she made savaged answer in his front room door scene,then from there, her holding a little grudge resulting her always bickering around him, made him a bit of "aware" of her existence. Beside, the FL kinda cute.imagine some cute neighbors just move in, every boy naturally have "curiosity".he's pretty much portrayed as normal character. Not super cold and anti social. So, yeah,if I remember clearly, they don't just fall like that. And ML crush started much bit later after her "hardwork" personality started to shine. And most of their closeness came naturally. Being neighbors, deskmate, her father asked him for help,etc. I mean, how long does it it take for teen normally have crush on each other ? I guess a month is kind of normal pace for me.

It's typical Asian mom. They hard on you but most of them just want you to prepare for tough world. Saying her a B just show how much spoiled you are.

Wait, but 2ML kind of jerk.he's okay during high school era,but not after that. And seriously,he rarely there.for me his character is not utilize properly and just used toward the end to make an old love rivalry cliche. They could have made him just a trusty Senior. He doesn't make much impact during high school story either. ML "jerkness" at least understandable.money situation is always hard and change your life in bitter way.

I watched moonlight first.he's very fine for romcom saeguk style.probably not the serious one. The last two dramas have bad writing,and the pair has zero chemistry.not to mention he played along then his best friend's wife. How could viewer should believe their chemistry real. Anyway,with good script, I think there is hope for him to shine again. He should avoid character that only has charmed. He's quite good in monster or nodame

The cliche was done beautifully. piggy back scene: instead making it cringe, they were keeping it real by making the boy looked very exhausted carrying weight. First kiss: instead making it like they were kissing in movie,they made the boy getting trouble holding the girl while kissing (it was so awkward) but maintaining the hot hot kiss above Korean standard. My favourite scenes must be the "empty home". I bursted out watching the ending of that scene.

I watched for second couple only. I think from story pov, while it seems carry too many kdrama trope,they succeed make it feel like original (more to it below). And both of leads delivered everything on point. I don't think the act cringe at all. And the FL succeeded bring many emotions to her face. Many scenes made me laugh out loud (more to it below). And I like small detail the director put on the show, or how he/she directed the actors. They all looked natural. The classmates scenes reminds me of another masterpiece from Asian drama, nobuta wo produce. It gave me the same craziness vibe that I really love from teen drama. I agree with all comments here,they chemistry is on another level.

They should focus more to glasses girl and bad boy. They are hilarious.yet, they invested more on not so interesting couple.

Kinda understand the feeling,since I hold the same with reply 1988 ML/SL. But it won't be totally same,cause SZ character here not meant to be as second lead in romance story.it's not even love triangle per se. His "romance role" here to add narrative to his own main story. Go ahead addressing story of seemly normal people,but actually hold deepen mental health problem, like pstd, abandon issue. And if you like Stephen zang, you probably won't be disappointed with his story cause his not really focusing on romance here. his story is so good, I cried several time with his acting.

Go Ahead is cdrama.I only have one or two drama to watch in a year.and it was my go to drama last year. It's family/romance drama.i don't normally watch cdrama,but this one too worth it to skip. The script is well written (by any drama standard), the acting superb, the family story give you reply 1988 effect, the romance givea you butterfly, and the friendship between girls just remind you that good old feeling. Anyway, give it a peek..

I want to say it's not about which country, but lately manga adaptations are extremely bad, whichever country make it. I feel only anime interprets manga better. Kdramas only good transferring webtoon into live action, but not manga. I am sick of cdrama that use 100x version of iswak...

Just watched the raw today, and yeah, unsatisfying. Tougo and haru wayy too much age gap from appearance. Natsumi too feminine and can not pull the gloomy side of natsumi
haru is too overly cute and looked like kid. And tougo, not like tougo at all. I don't mind older actor play the younger role,but he just doesn't work in terms of delivering tougo character alive. And his mother, yup, over the top acting make it like haru no noroi a soap opera drama. I don't think the production team understand the manga.

I am going to go rampage if they mess this up (they already messed up with my little monster). From the cast, it's not so promising. I can't see any resemblance with the manga yet. but let see how the actors play the character. the story is simple, therefor it won't be an easy task to make it to has the same depth with manga has.
