also can I js say how refreshing they were ?? like ik this is not new bl but stilllike they were COMMUNICATING…
also not to mention how Hao Ting and Xi Gu weren’t the stereotypical feminine bottom and masculine top a lot of BLa like to push. Both characters were well rounded and didn’t have everything about their life revolve around the ship. True greatness 🚬🚬
loved Big and Park in monster next door so I’m glad to see them in another series! I hope this series is good but based on the director I won’t have high hopes
Just finished episode 3 and it was so beautiful. It seems like Yeong is experiencing that “pure” love for the first time. But now I’m expecting to cry and see how this relationship ends in the next episode 😆
I need another season, movie or even a short 10 minute special episode just something from these two again! I don’t think anything will come close to Hira and Kiyoi. I wish I could watch it again for the first time!
I just finished episode 3 and I can’t help but feel extremely bored. Some of the scenes also seem a bit scripted compared to other queer dating shows I’ve seen. Also, I find the panel unecessary and odd. It takes away from the intimacy a lot of dating shows have because of how much the judges are ogling at them as if gay men are some sort of carnival attraction. Does it get better? I don’t really get the hype so far.
Couldn’t get through the second season….Minato is kind of unbearable. I get that he’s flustered but he’s also a grown man who should be more mature than the literal high schooler. The constant chase between the two leads was also kind of boring.
The jealousy and other nonsense would be more fitting if it was between two high schoolers but it becomes cringey and too much if it involves an adult.
I seriously don’t understand Wabi Sabi. Earth is a pretty decent actor (from what I’ve seen in UWMA) yet they’re so insistent on giving him the same unbearable character every series. The man is 28. He can be cute while ALSO protraying a complex character that doesn’t pout every episode. This type of “confused cutie” role with no nuance was okay in early 2019 when BL standards weren’t that high but now it just doesn’t work anymore.
This series is basically just a visual example of how Wabi Sabi hasn’t grown with the times and is stuck in the same mindset of what worked for BLs years ago. The series isn’t the worst I’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely not the best.
