Right! They both spread hate of course, I didn't deny that at all! 我想说的是，alot of her new fans are increasingly defensive and hostile with a "I'll bite you before you bite me" mentality. And Wu Lei has really unique (and conventionally unattractive) looks and so when people went in on that I was so embarrassed...as well as them purposely trying to demean his new show that came out. But what can you say about Zhao Lusi? She's gorgeous and can act...and had hit dramas back to back. Maybe I'm gatekeeping her as an older fan of hers, she's my precious baby. I don't want her image to go the permanent traffic star with a toxic fanbase route. Also you're right, Sina Weibo/Billibilli is a weird cesspool for lies and hatred...over human beings that they'll probably never meet lol. I just go there to get a Chinese perspective, because many Intl. fans can be unconsciously ignorant, and although her fans on Instagram/YT reels make fun of him theyre mostly intl fans so I just saw them as not knowing him or the industry too well.

Uh...you're being very aggressive and wrong? I read your first sentence and last one then gave up... But maybe I can reach you with some sensible reasoning. I was a fan of Zhao Lusi before Wu Lei(because I always found him very funny looking and boring puppy personality), so I'm not a toxic Wu Lei fan. If someone slanders him I'll just counter them calmly, just like I do with any actor or actress I like. Any person with a careful eye can research and see the routes and present statuses of their careers, as well as how they're fans behave/behaved in the past. Me? Well, 我会很难过, but could give two shits if both of them died tomorrow or got married tomorrow. They're public celebrities for goodness sake. Meanwhile, people like you are part of the problem. Another fan countered me respectfully, but here you are saying hate filled nonsense. Stop taking thinkpieces on celebrities on as personal attacks. <3
Honestly I'm for everything except for Liu Haoran and Zhao Lusi after what I saw happen to Wu Lei. Liu Haoran is someone whose more so under the radar and niche...everyone knows of him but he's not too popular and yet he's not ignored. He perfects his craft and has been trying to be a serious movie star, but he also reads a lot and is interested in various different scripts. However, he's had issues with releasing his breakthrough movies in the past, except for Detective Chinatown. As for Zhao Lusi, no matter what people say, in Chinese media and in the public is seen as more of a traffic actress, although she was a beloved one due to Tiger and Rose. After Love like the Galaxy though, a lot of her fans got big-headed and began saying very mean things about Wu Lei, even talking about his looks. To be fair, Wu Lei is someone cemented in the industry since childhood, and some of fans of the novel were mean towards the Zhao Lusi casting, so some of her fans got defensive over that. But as someone who was only a recent fan of Wu Lei and always found his features a bit weird, I'll say the things that were said about his acting and him as a person as well as his looks just because of Zhao Lusi was ridiculous. Some of her intl./Chinese fans are 太疯狂, like K pop male idol fans. They shield her and protect her, but are always comparing her to her male co-stars as if she's better and they are undeserving. For this reason I've started to distance from her fandom. I don't think Liu Haoran or his agency likes that kind of fan war and fan obsession. He's been doing a lot of International stuff lately, between the Cannes Festival and Fashion Shows overseas, amd he recently trended for a bit on Weibo as a 'forgotten handsome'. But I don't think he's someone that would want to pair with someone with fans like Lusi's for now. Especially when he has so many dating and marriage rumors with Zhou Dongyu 周冬雨 since 2022.
I really want a full on historical drama with Zhou Xun and Chen Kun.
That would make the internet crazy!! But considering their long friendship and the speculation about their relationship amidst Zhou Xun's marriage in the past, that's probably inpossible. :( Those two are well grounded and seem to despise their privacy being blown out
