As much as I love SWL, like you say here, I do too find he has his good and not so good moments in this drama.…
Yeah agree.... Of course as WL is younger, may be as his life experience changes he will be better. Right now he still has a lot to learn. I can see why they pick him for this role because LX character is quieter and has the demeanor that SWL already possess. However, the thing about filming is in the character private moment when the audience needed to feel the hurt from the character in order to truly connect and that's where the acting chops become important. He's not bad but I think this character is is too layered for him and I don't think his portrayal fully hit the mark in some very important moment. Like when he was saying lines about how desperate he is for JJ bc of how much he struggles mentally or when he has a panic attack... Like I hear it in the voice and the way he mimic the body language but I don't feel it in his eyes. Idk it looked like he's acting it out rather than making me feel like this is someone who's suffering. He just kind of keep his head down and cover his face to look sad. I think things like this come with a person's life experience and how they can channel their emotion. I mean I know I've had panic attacks myself and it did not feel/look like that. I think that's why I was a little meh about his performance bc I feel like I should be relating to this character a lot more, but I couldn't get there as much as I wanted to. SWL would need to learn to be in touch with his feeling and emotion more to better portray different depth of characters. ZXC seems like he already has a good sense of that and it makes all the roles he play really believable for us as viewers
Yes, in terms of acting skill and the ability of empthy, ZXC is above SWL. But I also know it is unfair if you…
That's true. They do have 4 years different. I feel like I knew about WL before Steven, so I always assume they are about the same generation. Either way like I said, I didn't think he was bad. I just couldn't help myself because the two characters are side by side on the same par in way. I feel like if I was watching WL alone, I would think he did just fine. I don't think he's a bad actor. He's good for where he is now, I just think he got outshine by Steven bc of the side and side nature of the 2 character. WL still has room to grow, that's a fact. I'm not trying to be mean to him. I think he's not bad. I've seen way worse actors his age in a lead role before. He has lots of potential. Just thought it's a shame I wasn't able to concentrate on the portrayal of his character as much as I would like to. It's just an opinion and I don't think it's a wrong one.
I think I understand what you are saying about the lead but in the end,who has been a result of his life.He coulndn't…
I don't think any of really got over the diagnoses. Out of all the patients only 2 were well enough to leave the hospital. The rest were still there. They might have shown them getting to the core reason of their illness, but that doesn't mean they're all good and ready to leave, since they're all still there..? It's just the lesson from each patient's story and how they're slowing healing by facing their past.
Cry from not wanting to leave the show and cry from how happy we are to see everyone finally find happiness. These characters do that to you. It's the ebst
The age gap here look less creepy than count my lucky stars. I guess since rosy is taller/mature looking and the…
Agree. I think it didn't come out that bad in my lucky stars, but ppl like myself who can still remember gushing over the 2001's fully grown F4 when I was like 6 and now seeing him with a girl even younger than me .... it felt a little weird
I'm half way through and I love it. However, I have to say I have a hard time not comparing Weilong and steven's acting because their characters are equally essential with different yet similar struggles in a lot of ways. I must say Steven really act his heart out. Weilong is obviously very handsome and definitely not a bad actor. However, his role has so much psychological struggle and depth that I feel like he didn't really convey it enough. He just kind of look sad the whole time. He's really great with cutesy scene and being seductive., but part of me can't help but feel like Steven out acted him.... i feel bad bc I'm sure he works hard, but without the music and nice directing, idk if I would have felt touched by his character's situation. On face value, I feel like I should be feeling for LXcharacter wayyy more bc I relate to it a lot, but I'm biased towards ZQ and think he deserve the world, bc Steven's acting made me feel all the hardship of the character. I don't feel the same of LX. Like the scene where he got a panic attacked..... I feel bad for the character of course, but I wasn't really sold by the acting.... I hope WL will break out of his usual acting style and challenge himself to a role with more energy, may be that will help him.
the problem with the love story is that the main couple rarely share any meaningful conversations. as cute as…
Can't agree more. With such a good back story they could have explore together, the writing is too weak that it failed to create any depth in the relationship. No meaningful conversion. Everytime they start to be sweet to each other, it became a slo-mo montage with music and then on to the next. No matter how natural and good the leads are, how can you feel their chemistry when there's no proper conversation or moments of them building real connection. they have a good baseline, but it's all ruined by the writing and directing. I hope these two can be in another drama with a better production together. They are really cute together and both of their acting is good for this type of drama.
I'm on ep3 and so far am really disappointed with the acting and directing of the FL. (and other characters are…
I think she lack 6 senses, meaning she can't feel physical pain, touches, colors, tastes, etc. If you think about it, as a human, our senses is closely attached to our emotions. We feel pain so we know what it feels like to get hurt. We get happy because we appreciate and love the beauty and food around us. We feel affection through our mother's embrace, etc. That's why when describing emotions we usually relate it to a physical sensation like sour for jealously, sweetness for love, etc. If you've never been introduced to these sensation, you might not be able to grasp emotion. It's like someone who can't hear, usually can't speak because they can't hear their own voice or others voice, so they don't know how to sound it out. Even though physically, there's nothing wrong with their vocal chord. I think it's very smart have her not have 6 senses, but not exactly 100% can't feel love (like YZ in Ashes of Love). That's why we see her feel without actually feeling. When her love to XF keeps brewing to a point where she recognize and able to feel the emotion, that's when she act differently and as little bit of senses come back, she was able to feel it more and more. That's why I think her love for SF started very early without her able to physically feel it and it was intense enough to get pass the physical sensation barrier. Of course being introduced slowly to her other senses help, along with SF teaching and patience. On a day to day basis, she learn how to react to things through mirroring reactions and learning what is good and what is bad from her family and sister.
She isn't unfeeling though. She clearly has feelings but not as much as normal people does. However i too don't…

I think that's reality for you. Some people takes a long time to change, after living so long the way they are. I have a controlling mom to a level you can't even imagine and I can tell you even after a huge confrontation and everyone trying to talk sense into her, her first reaction is to be defensive and dig down even more. Howver, instead of just attacking the parent, we also need to realize they are just human at the end of the day and they are very flawed. I will see the sun split in half before I would ever see my mom verbally accept she's wrong. If somethings do get through to her, it would show in small, gradually changes in her action. It's unrealistic to have them just learn their lesson and becomes a fairy the next day. That's the real version of how someone with that personality start to change for the better. As for the dad, You might say it's victim blaming, but personally as the child who have to suffer through the excessive belittling and control, what hurts the most is to see your father, who is supposed to be your support, just sit there and watch it happen. He might not agree but he never stood up for his kid and that hurts the child just as much. It's disappointing and hurtful and eventually you give up expecting things for those who were supposed to be your support system. You eventually start to lose your self esteem and confidence in the end. There are 2 parents that raised the child. Father also take part in making a kid and just as responsible in making sure your child feels loved and happy. It's cowardice to say bc you're making money outside why should you concern/get yourself in more annoyance by taking part of your child's life. They're people not a job. No matter the reason, the damage is done. Men do tend to get the excuse from these matter and the women become the sole villain. I find that very wrong.
can we just talk about how decisive and no nonsense the little king in this show is? He's like 7/8 but he behaves better than most kings i've seen in other shows. He's super stern and doesn't get manipulated by the the court officials yelling and arguing. Very interesting
I was thinking bout binge watching it but u managed to convince me to drop it with your valid points. The leads…
yeah I think it's good to be a filler show if you're bored, but it's hard to really get attached and connect to the character because of the production...
holup. a trailer doesnt mean it is alrd airing lot of episode there might be alot of scene that you havent seen…
He barely needed to act in Eternal love of peach blossoms because of the way his role is written.... The guy who played his role in EL of dreams did a much better jobb. I felt a little weird with the new actors at first but he actually was able to make the role interesting in ways I didn't realize it could be. Alan Yu did not do that role justice either. It was just too minor a character without enough need for big emotion. That's why he got away with it. I'm not saying he can't improve BUT he does not have the chops to be a ML right now but that's the role he seems to keep getting... There are a lot more talented actors that could use his luck. I really tried and wanted to like him but his acting just keeps turning me of after a few episodes. I will give his a shot bc I like the actress for the FL, but I don't have high expectation
Exactly! The ones who are so in love with 2ML is probably because he's hot. While the ML loves her unconditionally.
UGH Thank you. Like oh boy you're suffering the consequences for your stupid choices. One of which is insisting on being with the girl knowing you will hurt her,but insist on it anyway. Idk he's not bad but he's too annoying and acted like he's the noble one, while doing a bunch of shady stuff and lying constantly. He also just takes credit for showing up and save the FL when ML is the one that told him to come.... Real nice. ML literally will do anything for the FL without even a thought. Most importantly, he loves her the right way and let her be herself.
I stumbled on this drama on YT, searched it here for reviews, and found out its Kris Fan! Really love him in Where…
viki has the best translation, but if you don't have access Kukan drama channel did a good job too. MQ Media is actually pretty bad in my opinion but I guess good enough to get the gist of what's going on
It's all the construction work on his face. This is why his best acting was at quarter-profile and kissing...
Totally agree! I thought the FL was really cute. The voice is a tad high pitch, but other than that she did really well to act cute but not annoying and she's very pretty. All the other characters are better actors than the ML to be honest. I think his hair still bothers me the most LOL I think his stiff acting would still be tolerable for modern idol drama with modern hair. The bangs and hairstyle did not do him any favors
OMG the editing and production are just so terrible!! What a shame. It's already a good drama with pretty good actors but honestly, the choice of their background music make dramatic moment anticlimactic and romantic moments lose its depth. Lazy writing as well. The cast actually did a good job but the way they build each scene is so anticlimactic . Then in romantic moments where they could have wrote some good lines and zone in on the characters interaction, they chose to to a montage instead with lay over music with slo mo... This is why despite having the leads with great chemistry and natural acting, a lot of viewers get bored. Meanwhile during dramatic moment, like when the friend discover the contract or when tiffany expose the contract to FL, there's barely any music or some ridiculous casual background like it's no big deal.... Like they make their own dramatic moments boring..... Jeez. I appreciate the actors and how pretty the house is, but man what a waste of a good story line.
