both actors are good and I think their chemistry is there. It's a little slow in the romance, lots of close moment but I don't mind it too much. However, the overall plot is just mediocre. I dropped it sadly.. Idk I really hate the way they wrote FL character and her whole rise to power arc. I mean my sister is a designer and fashion is a very competitive industry that takes lots of work to climb up even when you're talented. It's pretty ridiculous for her to just get dropped into a director position with 1 successful design. ONE! without nay proper experience in design? First of all, the 2nd ML doesn't really know how good she is. He literally just appoint her the position bc he likes her.... Terrible management and he set her up to get bullied. I can appreciate that she doesn't get pushed around, but honestly, if I was her, I would have asked to be a regular designer first and earn her way up. She can be ultra talented or wev, but it takes more than a good eye for styles and good drawing to really make a good designer. You can have a natural gift for design but you have to learn how to sow well and understand fabric, construction,etc. Designers took years to learn in school and then work to gather experience, get exposed to different styles to perfect their own. BUT SURE bc she's cute and got a nice guy to like her, let her just skip all that and become a director of the whole design department??? being a good designer and a good manager are 2 different things. On top of that, we're just all supposed to believe that she goes from a rookie designer to super boss in a day....? I thought they will let her suffer some failure and let her realize she should earn her position and go back to gather more experience, but it's looking like the writers just going with it and making her a good director that's doing a great job, but she's just get sabotage from overzealous bitches. I mean I would be pissed too if I work to move up in a company for years just to have the boss's new crush with 0 experience just drop in.... Nepotism at the max. Of course they have no business sabotaging her, but again, how can anyone not see it coming... AND I know its supposed to be a light fun show but I was just not in the mood for this level of unrealistic trope... Sorry I needed to vent this out

I just think there's a lot of way to protect your love one without hurting them. I just never felt like he think things ahead to bear the pain, while making sure his love one won't be in harms way. His actions are very reactive and it caused his love one just has much pain as it does him. There's a right way and a wrong way to protect someone. In this respect I think JC from Love and destiny does it better. Anyhow, i know TMOPB is a heartfelt favorite for everyone and I love it too,. However, for me, YH as a character in the immortal male lead realm, which is full of crazy heartfelt sacrifices and love through thousands of years, is just okay. He definitely redeem himself a lot later and I cried for the show. BUT for 50k yr old immortal, I still think some of the way he choose to resolve his issues come with so much pain for his love and he kind of just expect them to go with it. Misunderstanding aside, just think plainly from the FL perspective, he's not my favorite. He is however, one of the best looking one. and I love the actor. No need to try to convince me. Like you, I've seen the show all the way through more than once. All I'm saying is when watching L&R, I was reminded of Xu Feng not YeHua, bc I just think what they go through is more similar. However, of course, XF is different than SF. He's a general with a different personality, so of course he also reacts slightly different.

LOl that's true. I mean I think for XF it's just bc the situation never came up. I guess there's some parallel action between YH and SF. Altho they are immortals so it's really not that high maintenance to take care of a kid. As we see BQ and YH do their own thing all the time without their kid. I guess I was looking at the emotional toll and suffering XF and SF went through for loving a girl who can't tell their own feelings. They both got hurt badly by their girl due to all kind of misunderstandings (SF definitely much much more than XF). I mean hell XF straight up was killed out right by his girl due to misunderstanding and had to get brought back to life. I think rather than parallel actions, I was looking at more the level of dedication and pain and the feeling the ML bring me when I watch the show. I got flash back to that painful episode from AOL when watching this show

Interesting... Yehua before Xufeng? I thought XF is a little closer to SF. Idk I never got over the whole eyes things with YH. He redeem himself but still meh. Another ML I think is Jiu Chen from Love and Destiny. He's a little older, so not as pretty like as the others but he got charisma when he acts and very manly. Also does a lot of his love as well

Really? I watched through MQ Media or Kukan. Usually I try to be patient to watch on Kukan bc they have better sub. MQ usually post the fastest with somewhat tolerable subs. This week both channel only post 2. I check Viki too and only have 20 out (partially subbed) with 21 and 22 available in 5 days. Usually with viki, they'll upload the episode when it's out bc they can post without subs and fill in the subs as they work. Where did you watch?

Ugh I was so excited to watch this week. I usually watch all 4 eps at once on Thurs and was so bummed to only get 2. They're also just starting to get some real conflicts going too. I don't want to get all angsty with only 2 eps a week. That's too long for angst LOL

It's not holy or anything, but it's just cute? Like ah juan or juan mei mei are all so basic. Do you not like monkeys? They're super smart, fun and cute. Why not monkey? there's couples calling each other with worse nickname, even nicknames started as an insult then became an endearing way to call each other. It's pretty normal. If he treats her like everyone else, then what would be so special about their relationship anymore. Of course you can have your opinion tho. I

Doormat is a strong word. She doesn't want to just accept charity and live at the big house with her friend, but at the same time had her own livelihood to take care of. She was also in a crappy moment. Why is it so horrible that she just wants to find a place to live that she can afford without burdening people she cares about. ML was being an ass b4, so now that he feels bad, he kind of owe it to her. Why should she feel bad about coming back? She got more problems to take care of and more useless pride would have been stupid. Honestly if you've ever felt stranded and trapped in a situation you can't seem to work your way out of and suffer the crushing defeat of losing your the dream you spent all your life working for, you would just be glad to at least get one problem settled now and think of tomorrow later. I don't think that's unreasonable. I'm not saying that this show is 100% perfect, but I honestly find it relatable in a lot of ways. I cried with her a ton, bc I understand a bit of the crushing feeling of having worked so hard for your dream and have it ripped away by smt you can't control, as well as having to learn to accept that may be that dream is just not for you, but that failure also opened you up to your true calling. I think you focus too much on your judgement of the small detail and that kept you from enjoying the message of the show. I guess it can't be for everyone

The girlfriend is worse than the uncle, but yeah i get it. They're not too bad later on. They help the couple get together but still I couldn't stomach the selfish attitude of the best friend, so I skip her scenes for the most part

That's true. I see that. She is coming off like a character next to HJ, as opposed to an equal main character. So far it is definitely more of a look into HJ's journey right now. I hope that changes later. Otherwise, it would be quite a shame, since I also like PSD a lot. I honestly focus on her story a little more than the ML right now bc I find it so relatable. Hopefully see she will get her shining moments later on. I do hope to see her in a show written for her character, rather than being an added factor to the ML.

I have to disagree. It's a little early to judge that right now no? I feel like there's more to come, especially since there's hint about her family issues. It looks like life was rough for her when she was young and that's what prompted her fangirling over HJ to escape. I don't think she's also meant to be a charismatic character either. I find her very relatable... I mean not everyone has striking beauty or charisma or has the ability to be sassy and over the top. The majority of us are normal people with normal dreams and just want to try our best to get there. She's a fun girl who's just working hard for herself.... I think many people see themselves in her. Their conversation is the best part for me, you see her personality and humor.. I mean it's like the only part she shines the most. This show isn't the over top drama with high adrenaline. Idk I like it so far. It's like how I would imagine a nice fangirl meeting her idol would be like with both of them working towards their dreams and get hit in the face with reality. It's pretty realistic

I think around ep 12. It's when he caught her selling her books about him and then when they were going back and forth he snatched the book and she used her martial arts to get it back and he was impressed LOL It was a really cute moment. I'm pretty sure it's ep 12?

I think it's the make up making her look kinda.... idk fake looking. The intense highlight and doll like make up make her expression feels exaggerated.... Also I think even tho this girl can definitely snap back at the ML, overall, her character is soft and well-mannered. I think may be the actress does better with sassy or carefree character. A few of her moments of trying to be lady like when talking to "yan brother" and ML feels a little forced.... but then in emotional scenes like when she talked about her past with the master and such she does well. She's a pretty good actress. I think She over did it with the lady-like act that it doesn't really fit her? I still like the character & the show so far tho, but I do understand what everyone is saying. I'm only at ep 6, so who knows may be I'm about to hate it LOL

I started skipping so hard, because it's literally the same conversation and situations between the FL and ML over and over and at some point it just drag on for too long without real resolution,. They just keep drag out her confusion about her feelings for 10+ episodes... I actually dropped it for a bit and came back just so I can see the 2nd couple LOL

I think it's the make up too. She was in the white snake drama and her make up look a lot more natural. She's already really pretty so I think this make up is a little too intense in the sense that it makes her features too sharp. I like her a lot tho she was really good in white snake.
