Haven't started this show yet, but it looks like pretty mixed feelings. I think lots of people were so excited to see Zhao LiYing return and with Wang Yibo no less, so they had high expectations about the production quality coming into the show and was disappointed. Whereas the others with lower expectations or not used to really quality productions are pretty happy. Glad I read the reviews because I was in the former group. Now I can adjust my expectations and enjoy the show knowing it will be flawed.
With such a lie yes it somehow gets bad...but he finds out first. Will leave you with that. :D Yes to your last…
Don't worry. It's not going to be that bad. They will definitely be mad, but at the core both his parents are kind people, so they're not going to be cruel about it. Overall, the leads take turn misunderstanding each other a lot at the start but as they get closer they became a pretty united front. They might lie a lot but at least they later became very honest with each other and communicate so all the angsts don't last that long. Just relax an enjoy knowing it will be nice and good at the end. If you get stressed about it, you won't enjoy it as much i think.
The voice that you hear isn't really her voice if u listen to her in the bts her voice is a bit deeper
its really common for chinese drama. one is bc there's just a lot of different dialects and accents in both mainland china and even more so if the production has actors from different regions like taiwan or hk. Some actors don't have the proper Chinese accent. Plus, there's the whole thing about how the set condition affect the way onsite sounds are recorded, because they can't control the environment due to the limitation of their set (most common for period dramas). This forces the production team to dub it post production and it costs a lot more to let the actors record their voices themselves than hire dubbing actors since dubbing actors are more professional and efficient when it comes to dubbing and they are also cheaper than a famous actors' time. This youtuber explained it pretty well if you want to know more. It's really an annoying practice but I guess I can see the reason behind it. They just need to improve the production standards all together tbh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcRYGmzcWv8&ab_channel=AvenueX
Half way through ep 13 and from all the comments, I guess I will pause until next weekend LOL I'mma stop while it's still sweet and resume later. That way at least I know my heartache will get resolved right away and not a week later
Rara found out about Jun's age and family in Ep 10, actually they just became a couple at the end of Ep 8. So,…
That would work just fine with me. If everyone likes it then I'm sure it was done well. I really was not looking for adult kiss scene, but just as long as it looks pleasant. Some of Ara's old kiss scenes that I've seen look like she was uncomfortable almost, that's why it turns me off her romantic shows. I'm glad I'm not the only one who found her romantic scenes in the part a bit awkward. It looks like this one is going to be different! I can't wait to watch it!

AH! awesome. I'm not looking for a whole make out or anything, but idk the old kiss scenes from Go Ara looks so "dead fish" and disinterested, even tho her acting is good normally. I like a cute kiss scene that actually look like the FL is enjoying herself and not look like she's forced to do it LOL. Last time I watch one of Go Ara's show is a long time ago tho, so I'm glad to know she has improved.

That's great to know. At least it's on a drag on misunderstanding after they got together. How was the kiss scene ? LOL weird question but Go Ara's kiss scene is always stiff from everything I've seen her in. Part of the reason why I stopped watching her show that's heavy on the romantic side, because she get me invested in her coupling and then the terrible kiss scene ruin their chemistry for me. I mean the clips from there two look so cute so I might watch anyways, but I want to prepare myself to not get my hopes up haha
I'm now really considering this show. The clips I've seen are really cute and it seems very well loved. From some YT comments I found that he had to lie about being 18. That's not a big deal with me but Can someone tell me when Go Ara character found out? Is it before or after they became a couple (or kiss or wev the mutual feelings confirmed kind of moment) or has it not happen yet? Altho I have no issue with the age gap and can wrap my head around the plot of his lie bc I'm sure the writer will make it reasonable, I know it will annoy me so much if they get together on the basis of a lie like that.
Totally agree with u.leon looks so manly and likes u said he has a good looks and good body.i like him so much…
Thank you! I couldn't believe how many people were commenting that he's not good looking enough to be a male lead. Like wut. Are we all looking at the same person?
I'm loving this so far. Leon Lai is great. His character is supposed to be awkward and stiff. He does great with his timing, chemistry with the FL and he's absolutely good looking/captivating enough to be a ML. Idk why people have an issue with his acting. It's not amazing obviously, it's only his first lead role*, but it's pretty good. There's wayyyy worse actors out there with a ML role, who does not have the chop for it. Leon is not that. I think he captured exactly what I imagine for the character and I'm sure he did what he was directed to do. Apparently some thinks Alan Fang is better looking?? uhm no? They're both handsome men but Alan looks like a boy and Leon looks like a man. I watch Love by hypnotic and thought Alan's acting was a tad too cringe and exaggerated for my taste. He shines in shorter moments but as a lead, I thought he's not there yet. He's getting better with each project though. I thought they develop things for the relationship at a pretty good pace. It's a nice and cute show. Definitely not perfect but very enjoyable and fun to watch. I like the ways her perspective of the ML changes slowly without having to spell things out loud with some dramatic turning point/event that just magically made her change her opinion, like normal idol drama. May be that's why people are not used to this kind of development. It actually require some thought process and things aren't always spelled out with "in-your-face" type of explanation or moment to express the character development. If you have doubts about watching this, I'd say watch it and judge for yourself. Don't let these comments sway you. Just relax, watch and enjoy the ride. Don't expect some groundbreaking drama but it will be an enjoyable watch.
But wait, did the ML's aversion to women get cured for all women or just for the FL. Or was this something that…
I think it's just FL, but it seems like just a psychological thing in his head, because he got dizzy in the beginning when he touched her accidentally, but it went away a few eps later after it's clear he's catching feelings for her. I'm only half way through but my assumption is it went away when he starts to like her.
Oh, god. Modern dramas with plain kissing scenes are sooo disappointing. T___T But it really does seem like he…
I know it's kind of a shame. I like the actor but he should stick to serious dramas with little to no romances if this is his choice. Bai Lu always have amazing chemistry with her co star so it will be a huge buzzkill to get half ass kisses. I was hoping for intimate and loving husband and wife moments like story of Minglan, since it involves a lot of marriage life....

I heard part of the reason is because he's married so I guess you gotta respect that, but UGH the intimate moments really seal the deal for these type of shows. I get ming lan vibe from the synosis, so I was hoping to see similar interaction. He is a really good actor so may be it will work
What the heck is going on with all the cut off scenes in this show on IQyi. It makes it hard to follow the whole scheme. I'm at ep 14 and it's annoying the hell out of me. So far, Duke An is so ridiculous. His whole reasoning for revenge is so flawed. All these villains acting like they're only doing what they must with no regard for innocent lives.... Anyone else annoyed by how fast they forgave the uncle? Like BRUH he tried to kill a child who clearly didn't even know what he saw. If he left the kid alone, he wouldn't even know to tell anyone about it. No matter if he's under duress or not, still super messed up. Especially considering he has a child of his own that he cherish so much. Duke An act like he's not a bad guy and just getting justice for his mom... but in the process, he harmed and killed and bunch of innocent lives with the explosion. 0 Second lead syndrome with this one.
Is it possible that Fu Rong and Prince Su are just the reincarnations from their Yun Xi characters? Is that why…
nah I know about that but honestly I find those double ending just a way to please the fan and often not logical enough. The story is what it is. To force a happy ending that doesn't make too much sense like how they did in Sleepless princess seem too out there for me to believe it. As cruel as writers can be with their character, the structure of their story was created for one ending. If they meant for it to be a sad end, but bc of fans they create twists that's out of place in the scheme of the entire story just to make it happy. That's often how it goes with all these 2 ending. It's like convincing myself things are good when in reality it's not. Knowing there's 2 endings ruin the story for me and make the characters no longer feel real. I know these shows are fiction but that's just how it feels to me after investing my time in the character. Thanks though. I rather enjoy it while it was sweet and leave it that way
Is it possible that Fu Rong and Prince Su are just the reincarnations from their Yun Xi characters? Is that why…
I don't think so. I think because they have the same writer and producer and gathered many of the old cast , it's like a reunion for the production team and cast so they want to drop Easter egg here and there for the fans. The weird cut is strange but I think it might be because they changed their mind on how they want the mystery of what the dream is to be revealed and it's too late to refilm scenes to fit. There might be some other issue that forced them to edit scenes out like new tv regulations or some things in crucial scenes that didn't pass inspection so they have to cut those out and rearrange everything to make it work. It's not uncommon for China. They're really strict there. Some shows get shelved forever bc of things like that. The plot and what we see so far in the dreams in no way relate to Yun xi (from what I've seen so far) and this show seems to be based on a whole different novel but again, I didn't watch Yun xi all the way through because I know of the sad ending and didn't want to watch the ending, so I could be off.
Lol so true. But unfortunately it has become JJY’s signature look. This same makeup was inflicted upon us In…
yesh I remember that. I think It's feel even more extra here to me because of the lighting and color correction of this show . In class of her own the colors are adjusted to look a little paler in the face to get that smooth buttery look and it somewhat work for her make up bc it makes the red a little less crazy and does its job. Here, they choose a more realistic coloring and it makes the red looks wayyyy over the top. She's is already really pretty. She doesn't need that.
Okay I just started this bc the reviews seem so good but so far the real villain is the FL's eye make up..... They need to calm down with the red under her eyes... when she cries it looks like she getting eyes infection....
Edit: *it's his 2nd one since 2017
