Title Doom at Your Service Spoiler
I mean Goblin ended good so did tale of the nine tailed and Angels last mission: love and a bunch of others so…
I know there's good ending. I'm just bracing myself. I guess Hotel Del Luna was just 1st in my mind bc of the death/grim reaper type of topic. Let's hope for a happy ending.
On Doom at Your Service Apr 23, 2021
i fear this will have a sad ending loL like i have no doubt the acting will be amazing. It's park bo young and seo in gook. What can go wrong. BUT the concept of a mythical/magical being and human in love have a 50/50 chance of a bad ending every time. Especially with K-drama. They have no qualms getting us invested in a couple just to shatter our hearts.... i'm scared to watch this.

Title Hello Mr. Gu
Yes I wanted them to beat him up so bad but that didn't happen sadly
THat's literally the most annoying part for me. LOL I wanted them to mess up that guy so bad. Or at least for him to realize how scary and lonely that was for her but it didn't happen. I don't mind the jealousy plot or the cliche. I mean I know going in this is the kind of show we're watching but ugh that last punch would have made the drama so much better

Title Hello Mr. Gu Spoiler
It's a fluff drama with all the classic troupe and I know that going in so I don't mind it. It's cute and the couple have good chrmistry. The angst in my opinion isn't too bad. Honestly I'm most annoyed with the fact that all the way til the end, no one knows about her almost getting assault and left alone. Honestly.... like I neeeeeeded him to know that happened. Otherwise it made it seem like only petty jealousy. PLUS i needed to ML or anyone to fucking give that disgusting leech some consequences.

Like.. Jennys dad was only a pushover for Joo DanTae, he even got beaten by him after his wife got angry for Jenny…
To your point, I think the circumstance of Jenny's dad taking the fall for JDT might be more complicated than we thought. JDTprobably had something over him. Doesn't mean he's stupid. Just may be got caught by surprise. In this show even the smartest make mistakes and get duped (ex: SSR and Logan got separate and almost killed in the 1st season forcing and all the others got off scot free)
I think Jenny's dad has been planning his comeback in prison and just sit still and take the beating until he's ready. The secretary clearly was his person all the along that the dad put next to JDT. I do think he bomb the car and pretend to work with JDT for a hot second because 1. he can hurt SSR and avenge his wife getting arrested 2. get some benefit (financially) from JDT since he just got out of prison and might need funds or some sort of connection from JDT. I don't see him becoming a full pledge villain though.
SSR and Logan might be smart but they've proven to let things slip before. It's impossible and unbelievable in my opinion for someone to be so smart that they're almost almighty and never get hurt. They're just ppl after all. They had to take a lost multiple times before making a comeback. I think after rounding up all the Hera palace ppl and throw them in prison, they thought they earned some room to breath so they let their guard down. JDT is not that easy to take down so I'm sure he hid a card up his sleeve without them knowing. Especial Logan is just okay scheming wise. SSR is the true queen when it comes to scheming. Logan kind of just listen to her for the most part.
The new dude bothered me a bit though. He looks like SSR 1st husband that JDT "killed". I mean he's a pretty terrible killer. He tried killing multiple times and only one stick. I 100% believe the husband can be alive. Even if it's not the husband, there's definitely something up with him. It's too convenient that he got out of the car just in time for the bomb so I feel like he's connected somehow.

Just adding my 2 cents. From the dialogue, it's been 2 weeks after Rona woke up when she had a nightmare about…
I thought it's hilarious that he got set up LOL and it's even better justice-served that he was framed bc that's what he did to others every time to get out of trouble. It will eat at him way more to know not only is he paying for his crime but he also lost and got set up the same way he did other people like OYH and CSJ. I really don't think Logan will go dark like everyone said but again I haven't seen ep 13 yet. The woman working for him is definitely cray cray. I don't think he knows... I mean he was surprised to know his parents are the type of people that would purchase a kid to get their bone marrow before, so his judgement is only about 50-50 for me. He's proven that he is smart but also prone to make mistake and getting duped just like OYH. SSR is really the only real smart one and a scheming queen. I doubt Logan realized the lady is insane. I also don't think she works as closely with Logan as it seems. Might be someone he hire out of opportunity. I'm sure we'll get to see how he got to know her. She might have approached him herself and tricked him into hiring her. Who knows. There's a whole other season so they gotta make more drama and cliff hanger. I think making it seems like Logan going evil is a misdirect like telling us SSR is dead. It will reveal to be the opposite. Despite the crazy plot, these characters are set up with very specific traits and tendency. It seems a little too out of character for Logan to go evil even if SSR didn't accept him. He got himself and his dad investigated for the bone marrow thing so I think he plan on fully punishing everyone who hurt Seol Ah including himself and his parents. If anything, I think he plan to go to jail too. SSR prob also just want to focus on her kids right now instead of romance but I think she likes him too. You never know with this drama though ahaha. They might make me eat my words.

I also think that the so-called second leads take up too much airtime but I suppose they need a way to fill up…
seriously. I would love to see more medical stuff too. I think they do a really good job with it on this show. Very Grey Anatomy-esque.

Title You Are My Hero Spoiler
episode 17 if i am not wrong and after that they will start dating
and you will like why he decide to not tell her on purpose as well.
On You Are My Hero Mar 30, 2021
waiting on ep 26 to be subbed no viki and on but I need to gush/rant a little. Man this main couple is so freaking cute! The romance is so natural despite a couple eye-rolling typical romance trope in the beginning. The relationship itself is so nice to watch. Their acting really makes it seem natural and cute. It's Sandra Ma so I had no doubt. I didn't know the ML before but I love his acting here. A rising star for sure. I mean those biceps with that baby face and acting chops.... Can't wait to see more from him. My only annoyance is the 2nd couple LOL I'm about done with Shu Wen Bo and his wishy washy non sense. I don't really care how "cute" he is when he's with her bc it just confuses her feelings & annoy me more. He keeps letting her down bc his grown ass can't make up his mind and just keep finding excuses to push her away. The push is pull is going from cute to ridiculous. Like at this point she's too good for him and now I'm also annoyed with her for not kicking his butt to the curb. Like girl you can't hold onto little sweet glances as a reason to not let go and keep letting him hurt you over and over. At this point you're just a masochist. Like love yourself a little more .... The other guy is actually much better. I like a guy who's clear with his feelings and have enough EQ to love someone the way they deserve. I go from loving the 2nd couple to be too annoyed to watch them on screen. The sister's arc is better than those 2.

how could rona not have talked to her mother all the time she had been alive? also when she woke up and the first…
Just adding my 2 cents. From the dialogue, it's been 2 weeks after Rona woke up when she had a nightmare about JDT and wanted to call Seokhoon. I think she was told at the start to not call her mom yet bc SSR was holding off on letting YH in on the plan and her identity. Rona calling her mom would reveal SSR is alive ahead of time bc how would she explain who rescued her? YH proved to be massively unpredictable with her reaction in the past so I don't blame SSR for not fully trust her enough to pull her into the plan until she's sure of everything. Plus, selfishly, I felt like it's poetic justice to let YH sit in the position of having her child killed for lot longer after what she did.
It doesn't seem like Rona knows the plan until they move her to the basement and even then, she only know her part in it. They didn't have time to give her every detail, so she wouldn't know to let her mom know until after the police found them and she's back in the hospital. By then, as we saw, YH didn't pick up any calls and turned her phone off bc she decided to end it all. I also feel like in the writer stand point, having YH fully felt the pain and despair of losing her child is justice at its best. She redeemed herself a lot but in the end, Seol Ah is still dead by her hand directly and YH betrayed SSR after given the chance to come clean. Her lending a hand here and there and wiretaping phone calls can't erase the fact the SSR's kid is dead and Nae Ae Gyo died bc YH killed a teenager and choose to betray SSR & run to JDT. If she didn't, JDT wouldn't be able grab the chance to set his plan his plan to kill SSR in motion. In a way for the audience to really forgive her, she need to suffer a little more.
just watch ep 11-12 and need to come here to see who else freaking clap out loud when they finally gave JDT a taste of his medicine for real real this time. Omg I was soooo satisfied. Brilliant plan too. I cannot get over how smart SSR is!!! I'm obsessed with her character. I knew if OYH, SSR and CSJ get pool together they can take the bastard down. I'm glad the show made it happen. After seeing JDT just get away with things over and over UGHHHH it's so satisfying to see. This show is so over the top but so fun/frustrating to watch. It's my guilty pleasure. I'm curious about the set up for season 3!

Title Rattan
what is the meaning of "rattan" ? does it mean plant??
I haven't watched the show but rattan is just an English name for different vine-like species of palm plant. They use it to wicker chairs and tables a lot. You can google the word more for clarification but from what i can see the word rattan here is probably talking about the vines that come out of her/from her aka her power.

honestly anyone who embark on a show like this needs to adjust their expectation or just skip the show all together. It's about mind games between women in this time. I loved Ming Lan and from that experience, I know this type of show requires build up and patience. I went in knowing this is going to be a slow burn but given the story and the actors, I still believe it will be good. It really seems like ML and FL relationship will develop well. If you really look at this from the modern point of view, anything happen before ML and FL get married and fall for each other doesn't really matter. Just circumstances and obstacle. With that logic, if ML doesn't sleep with his other wives or bother with them after being with the Fl, I'm okay with it. Hoesntly marriage at that time is almost like a job to these women. They do it to survive and got twisted into endless suffering to hold on to their "power" and take care of their lineage. It's sad but also make it more acceptable for me to understand these concubines set up. Once they're married, i'm sure one by one, they will get taken care of. The romance is a sweet storyline to root for but I see shows like this being about more than that. It's about the battle of wits between the women and a depiction of the kind of life they had to live in this society. There are some that started bad and some were twisted into nasty creatures bc of the way this world operated. simply existing as a women comes with a harsh life. It's also a display of the FL's strength and perseverance to fight against that trend and protect herself., without having to make it about martial art skills and brute force. That was how I felt about Minglan. That love story was super slow burn but so so satisfying. the build up totally worth it to make for a deeper connection down the line. However, the romance is just a nice center line to a larger more in-depth story of life and humanity. I'm hoping for the same in this show or at least something close to it. I hope those who dismissed this show or get discouraged bc of the comments can go into it with a broader mindset or just skip the show if this is not what you are looking for, instead of commenting that that show is bad without taking in the true story and context of the show. It's early and this show could still end up being bad. It's ok to criticize, but try to give it a real chance it deserve with an open mindset and give it time to develop before you just say it's a bad show. This is a slow pace and dialogue heavy type of show, so if you're rushing through the details instead of taking in all the lines and the indication in the change of music, you can't appreciate it. Give it at least 15 ep to get good. I like it so far at ep 10. It's not Minglan level of production but definitely a good show.

I prefer the Cdrama version over this, but I agree with what you said 100%. While the C drama version was better…
The K version definitely feel like another idol drama but a pretty good, fluffy and cute one with decent story line. The Cdrama felt like a nicely done piece of art with very authentic story telling. I love them both in different ways, but like you said, I definitely support the Kdrama couple wayyy more. I always find the over the top tsundere trope very non sense, especially when they take it too far with the coldness. It just makes me feel like the ML doesn't respect the FL as a person. If the role changes and the FL's action was coming from a 2nd FL, we would be trashing her for being clingy and lack self respect bc she keeps throwing herself at someone who never even look at her nicely or give her the time of day. I always feel a couple like that in real life will never last beyond the kiddie pursuing stage before it became toxic.
On A Love So Beautiful Feb 21, 2021
Glad i'm not the only one who enjoyed this version. Sure some of the deeper, emotional story telling wasn't as well done as C version. I think something about the cinematography and the directing in the C version was just very well done and brought this sweet nostalgic feel and realness. I think that's what tugged at our heartstrings so much. The K version is a little more picture perfect and colorful and didn't perfect the character's story as well. It definitely feels a lot more idol drama-esque. However, LOVE the ML wayyyyy more here. Like there's some more layer in terms of personal character story for the ML in the C version but honestly he treated FL like crap most of the time. Act like he's above it all but get mad & passive aggressive every time she's with a guy. He always just never show any real affectionate actions towards her that she can see and honestly kind of mean to her for the most part. It made me annoyed at him and the FL for being so hopelessly in love with him & tolerate such BS. In this version, Heon is definitely still kind of aloof but you can clearly feel him getting warmer and warmer towards her. All the little things he let her get away with shows how much he likes her without saying it out loud. As the audience, it feels like he's just an awkward school boy in love but didn't know what to do, so he act cool instead. It's cute and I relate to that as we've all been in high school before. The C version makes me want to slap him in the face for just straight up being a jrk and gets rewarded just because the cold, aloof assh** lowered himself to apologize and what not. In this one, he pinches her cheeks nicely, rub her head, smile at her from time to time and omg when he fed her and let her cry into his sleeves, so cute! It makes the progression towards them being together makes sense to me. I can understand why despite him not saying it out loud, it feels like the FL just understand that he likes her and kept hanging around him bc he actually treats her kindly in his own way. It feels more natural & doesn't feel like she's embarrassing herself too much bc you can tell he tolerates and loves all her shenanigans. In the C version, after they got together, I was asking myself does even he know how to act towards her now that they're dating and it's not acceptable to treat her like shit anymore? Obviously loyal fan of the C version might hate this but I enjoyed this version a lot. Both versions have their strengths and weaknesses, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

haha I feel that. I like the leads so much I will keep going as well. They're a great pair. Love both of their acting since their prvious projects and they definitely deliver. It's not their fault the writing is a little wonky. I will stick it out just to see their cute moments. Worth it.

Title A Girl Like Me Spoiler
She does tell him about it directly on Ep. 17 but not much reaction/emphasis on the dreams from him.
Kind of. I think he kind of does but kind of also think it's just bad dream stemming from her worrying. I couldn't tell for sure to be honest. He just sort of go with it. However, since he care and take her words seriously, he also takes what she said about any looming threat seriously and deal with it accordingly with her, instead of being dismissive. May be he does believe it but doesn't really care because he's set on being with her no matter what happen. Either way he barely reacted to it.
On Love Unexpected Feb 18, 2021
Ok rant time....I'm quite annoyed with ML's confused reaction and flip floping back and forth between the sister and FL. It took him so long to figure out he likes her after hurting her with his words constantly and now that he realizes he still can't act properly.... And the FL is also such a mess. She keep acting on emotion and can't resist going to the ML every time while still being a spy???Like WTF writer... pick a lane. It's still a cute and fun show damn it. I'm mad bc th leads are so cute together and their interactions are so great. The writers are messing their amazing chemistry with this messy writing. I'm mad bc I like the show but also annoyed with the non sensical set up. Like it really doesn't seem like someone the FL character would continue to spy on the ML esp after she witnessed the fall out of her action. I mean why write a character that's kind of silly but super kind and emotional and follow her heart no matter what, while still letting her continue being a corporate spy.... for what reason?? Someone like her would have come clean or at least stop after the incident with the writer or not even do that at all out of guilt and how "empathetic" she is to the ML. It's just a random out of character plot point to keep dragging on... They did that with the whole pain transfer thing too. Like it took 6/7 ep for the ML to convince her it's real.. like uhm mister genius president can't think of an easy experiment to prove it to her? blindfold yourself or put her in the different room and have her hit herself somewhere and then tell her exactly where it is bc you felt it too. Like all that opportunity to spend time with her and you can't figure out a simple solution to convince her..? SO much for a genius CEO... writers, get it together@@ it's like a good writer that wrote a good character and set up stuck in a room with a lousy writer with non sensical ideas and they're forced to writer random plot point for such great characters. Thanks to the actors that pulled of the awesome chemistry on screen that keeps me going.

looks like a lot of people were like me and dropped this. I dropped around 12/13, I honestly just got too bored with a bunch of weirdly written interactions and draggy storyline with so little going on each ep. Considering the main couple ended up dating in real life after this show, you would expects sparks to fly off the screen (like Ming Lan) It looks like this get better later on for some people so I might skip a few ep and start again. I don't even think it's the acting from the leads. I think it's the poor writing and directing.
