On Find Me in Your Memory Feb 7, 2021
It's a really great drama. I love love love their chemistry. The leads look so good together. The trauma and thriller part were well written up until around the last 4 eps.. I get all the struggles that needed to happen to tie up the plot but the writers really pushed it with that one last angst at the end that's a little unnecessary. The way they resolve it was not very satisfying and lack depth. It's just angst for the sake of forcing a break up before reuniting the leads near the end. It has little no to no value to the plot or push their relationship forward in any way. It's just useless and frankly a little out of character for both leads. Having watched their story and how they love each other, I just don't buy that entire reacting from either of their characters. The writers were on a great track and then they almost screw it up a bit at the end. All is well since they wrap it up nicely. I just wish we didn't waste a whole episode on that dumb plot so we get have even more happy episodes of these two because they were so cute together. I was skeptical at first when I scanned over the ML but he ended up looking so handsome and charming. MGY is beautiful as usual. It's her first true lead role and she did a great job. I can see her getting even better in the future.

Exceptation : The drama is confusing if you didn't watch go go squidReality: the drama is confusing if you watched…
Honestly C Drama is the worst with continuity in spin off like Eternal Love of Dream and TMOPB, so treat it like its own thing . Kinda like an alternate timeline. That way it's still nice to see the OG cast cameo but you're not married to the original plot.
I love Li Yi Tong so I'm liking this recast as long as there's some cameo. Since Cdrama is not the best with continuity in spin off, I'm expecting this to stand alone (like eternal love of dream and the TMOPB) but it's going to still be cute to get some cameo of the OG cast here and there. Especially with the change in the game as well.

Title Poisoned Love Spoiler
Im at ep 15 and this was my opinion even though we know that shi meng is the one who can cured fang yan im a little…
no one is using him. He played along with the cure thing bc he like her and then he used it to keep her around. She was honest with him through and through. She never said she's into him. SHe's clearly in love with Shi Meng. Shi Yi even hypnotize her to convince them he's the cure. He took advantage of her illness and her incapacitated state to satisfy his selfish need to have her. Gross. He kissed her while she's passed out even after knowing he's not the cure. In another context that would be sexual assault. The moment he crossed that line his character is no longer redeemable in my eyes. No matter how hard the writer is trying to write a redemption arc for him. I refused to tolerate normalizing such behavior.

I didn't know that about her, but I do know she is KILLING it in this drama. She's lovely & a fabulous actress!…
Ahhh that makes a lot of sense. Damn good for her. She really created her own place in the industry. That also explained why the trailer really surround the FL as a central character and less about the ML or the romance. Refreshing. I'm excited to check it out.

They spend a life together, but she dies in the end. Those years of conflict took their toll and took her to death,…
ah okay. that's not bad. I guess that makes sense since they got marry early on and just build from there.

I just started this, but it's really not that bad LOL just take it as it's own thing. I mean I love the C version too, but I didn't ahve that high of an expectation going into this show. It's like a cute, youth story of unrequited love we saw time and again. You know it's not going to like blow your mind or anything. It's just light, cute and entertaining. I thought the actress looks cute. It's just how her face look. This is her version of sol i. She's little more animated, brighter and more fun than C version, which I'm totally okay with. Not that the C version is worse in anyway. They're just different. Heon is also a little warmer to Sol i in this version. He's definitely more aloof to her directly in C version. Almost NEVER smiled her way, just to himself. Here at least he will smile at her, he's more awkward than cold. I think people going into the show guns blazing ready to pick it apart bc they love the original. Just keep an open mind & enjoy the show for what it is.

I saw a clip of this drama and instantly assumed it was film because of her penchant for working only in films.…
I know it looks really good. Seems like a lot of angst and intrigue tho, which I'm okay with if it's done well and doesn't insult the viewers' intelligence. Because I know it's gonna be a little more complicated plot I think imma wait a little while for more episodes to come out and then binge

Oh she's the queen in the movie world. I remember watching her when I was younger. There was a period where she was in every big box movie from China and support roles in some hollywood ones. I remember seeing her face everywhere. She's a very captivating actress. I didn't even follow her because her rise was when I was around 13/14 and was really into Kpop LOL but she was a household name from just movies alone. I always have an impression that she's that high end movie actress that ever touched drama. At least in a celebrities world, she's definitely up there. I do think she wouldn't change lane unless it's a good project. I'm pumped to watch this.

WHOA zhang zi yi in a drama?? she almost exclusively does movies. Big hollywood level movies too. Oh I'm excited to start this show. It looks like a trip of heart aches but hopefully it will be worth it. Can someone tell me if it has a good ending in the novel...? Like the main couple actually stayed alive and together in the end?

Yeah. Not related but what I would love to see from kdrama is not just having lgbt issues as a focus, because it doesn't have to be always be a show about LGBTQ issues to have LGBTQ character. Those characters are just there as a matter of fact kind of way. A normal, healthy gay couple/character living their best life in a normal mainstream Kdrama and just a normal well written character in the drama just like any other character. Not over the top for comedic relief, not some dark twisted plot line they're suffering bc of their sexuality. Just a normal character in a drama with being gay as a normal character trait like all the others. anyways thanks for pointing out the brother/secretary convo! Totally missed it

I think she lied to stay away from marriage...
I know that's probably it but I just wanted to voice my worst case scenario fear. I don't want it to go that way because I'm currently really liking the show and hope they don't mess it up haha I've seen some ignorant messages in some of the older kdrama and chinese drama in the past so I'm just a little anxious about it

Yeah I agree. Honestly this show is still pretty progressive for Kdrama as it is so doubt they're going to be that tone deaf.

I understand that's the joke she was making. I'm talking about that whole conversation about her being a lesbian and into women. That's why I was wondering that's the deal with that. She said something about theyre both into women and the only thing that set them apart is their gender and that's the only reason why their dad is letting the brother inherit the company. I don't remember the exact details but it was a great line. Honestly that whole conversion was great in pointing out the absurdly discriminating tone from the brother both for her gender and sexuality. That's why I wasn't sure if she was serious or not, since that's such a good clap back it makes me hope she is gay but then that makes the whole Yong Hwa situation a pretty messed up. Obviously i know the most probable thing is she was just lying to get out of marriage, but I just hope to get some clarification. Her dad literally just mention about curing her gayness with straight marriage. The whole thing just annoy the heck out of me.

She can be bi too. That would be really intriguing in kdrama lol
If so, I hope they really write it well and not just brief over it. Otherwise, it just feel like they want o use the bi angle for the edginess but really the girl just HAS to end with a guy no matter what she claims to be. That's how lots of parents think when their kids said they're bi. They just think they're messing around but really ending up with the guy is the only acceptable outcome. Especially old school Asian parents. It feels like making her bi without really make the reality of her sexuality real to us would just normalize/romanticize that idea. If they just have her really end up with a woman in a mainstream Kdrama and continue to defy her gender role and go on to be her badass self in a normal loving same sex relationship, now that would really do her character justice. Otherwise, tbh I rather just have it be a lie all together and even tho it will reflect poorly on her but with her lack of empathy and manners, it's an understandable character flaw that the writer can help her grow out of. I'm just sick of LGBTQ characters in popular kdrama either there as comedic relief/punchline or stuck in this sad, repressed situation lusting over a straight character or just become a crazy villain .

sorry I know this is just a drama and they're not required to make a social statement. I wouldn't have these issues with it if they just stayed out of the gay angle all together. I will still enjoy the show no matter what since I love the main couple, but this would just put a damper on what could have been a great storyline. It's just how I feel at the moment. I'm only on ep 7 so that might change.

Okay since no on is mentioning it, I have to ask... Is Dan Ah actually gay or she just said she was to her family to avoid marriage... I do fast forward a few scene with just the other family members and not our 4 leads, so may be I missed smt. Please do let me know if I did. The show is clearly pushing her together with Young Hwa, but I'm confused about her entire convo with her brother about liking women and him outing her... I'm not that comfortable with the narrative that someone said they're gay but it's not really true, they just haven't met the right guy... As if a cute enough guy will cure their gayness... UHM no? I know she can be bi or just flat out lied about it to mess with her family (with her character she def would do smt like that) but I just hope that got clear up bc I'm 100% not okay if they just left it as she said she's gay but the writer will just give her a nice boy and that will all go away and we will all forget about that tid bit. That sends a very f** up message no matter how many nice aesthetic they put over it to make it romantic.... Also, it would have been so freaking cool if she is actually a lesbian and we have two central 2nd FL being played as a normal couple in a Kdrama. Wishful thinking though
