YES! Yes they did! Anyone in the know, not just us EXO-L knows that Growl is not an easy performance to pull off. I was well pleased with their efforts!

In the end, the first episode consisted of 3 of the 8 team performances, with the last viewed being team Growl. Growl being the team chosen as the Ace team by all the trainees, of course we didn't get to see who was the chosen favorite by the audience. They did really well, though.
Now the 7 day wait for next week to learn the audience pick and watch the next 5 teams.

First episode completed. The only MC so far is Lee Gi-Kwang. No sign of Xiumin yet. NGL, as an EXO-L, that's why I am here. xD
I found it to be a very well acted story. In regards to the ending, I look at it this way. .. The small smile/chuckle from Taihe when he saw Dr. Xia in about the same situation he was in the day before gave a little hope. But end? It was far from over. That was just the beginning of a long battle.
Happy endings and closure during that situation 20 some years ago were likely unrealistic, so we didn't get to see it either. Anyhow, that was my takeaway.
