I subbed the movie. :D https://www.dailymotion.com/playlist/x5z2bx
Dear, there's a mistake in the last video. The "event" (to not spoli anything) at the end.
It's "5 years ago, were were merely children, but as I spent time with XXXX, I've come to understand a bit what it means to be YYYYY" (again not adding the critical information to not spoil it). It's currently saying: "During these 5 years we still didn't have ZZZZZ" X'D
I fear I didn't follow the subs closely. I only consciously check them whever the spoken words are too complicated for me. But in this case the sense of the subs was so different that I consciously noticed. Which is probably good news for the rest (since, you know, nothing came to my attention in an irritating way).
I won't say HYD was terribly abusive, especially if you compare with its predecessor Meteor Garden, since Japan…
Thank you very much for the detailed insight. I can absolutely deal with realistic, with cliché (to a reasonable extent), with love triangles or open endings. I can handle the dark side of being human, too.
It's just that HYD such a pile of unreasonable, (self)abusive and ugly behaviour, that it wasn't fun watching. Simply, because it never got much better after that first "bigger" step out of the plain cruel bullying. It never became "right". Which is different from it having to be a happy ending! A sad ending can be just as "right". But they made it look like their relationship was something to aim for. And never-ending self-sacrifice honourable. Which it isn't. And judging by how many people (especially women) really loved the show, it tells a LOT about our overall mis-conceptions as society/ies and as women. And part of it is to blame to these shows being made years ago. I've recently been looking at manga and anime and movies from Japan that are older productions. But also older productions overall, not just Japan. And it's striking how much things have changed. How many things are no longer considered normal or socially accepted. Which includes things like: There is bullying and it's not "normal" that it's happening in basically every school and class. Or that it's honourable for women to be weak quiet frail beings. Or that they're otherwise very bold, mean and incredibly annoying. With nothing in-between. XD Ofcourse the way they portray men is also different now.
These changes are wonderful. And I'm grateful to have grown into a person picky and sensitive enough to not put myself through too much ignorant insanity and fake, (self)abusive "love" in my free time. There's simply too much sad stuff in the world. And while it's a good lesson to think about this with the help of media - when you're watching from "outside" rather than being personally involved - I have come to treasure myself enough to prefer truly touching, beautiful(ly sad), interesting shows that feel "right" at the end.
I'm giving this a chance. It's good to know it's not obviously messy or empty. We'll see if it can live up to my personal standards on top of that, too. My personal minimum standards, mind you XDDD. I'm not expecting to see anything fantastic. Not yet.
So I remember Hana yori Dango as a terribly abusive, psychological mess treating people like garbage. And I was absolutely shocked over the good rating and how people kept saying it's good.
Now my question: Is it still a psychologically abusive mess? Because if it is, I'm not touching it even with my little finger.
I was left utterly disgusted. There had been 0 romance and 100% unhealthy masochistic addiction type of "relationship". Cruel, heavily immature characters that do not grow up much. A female lead that acts to be "strong", but apparently has just little self-respect and keeps on feeding a sick system. Which is OK to try, but what good does it do if you keep it up after it hasn't gotten much better.
Another one of those with two same titles. It's really confusing. Is this a movie? A Drama? What is it?
Thank you, but again, if you're in the search list it won't help you, because you won't notice you've scrolled by not one entry, but two different entries. ;)
It's not up yet. It's all the same user, so you can just click their name and check their video list :) You'll be able to see if they uploaded part 4 yet, or not.
If I see right, there's another part that's supposed to follow, according to the user. That message is 23 hours old, so by the time you check it out the rest might already be up. However, if I look at the release dates, they have been uploaded every second day. So it might take another 24-48 hours or more, depending on the users real life schedule :)
So, it's quite adorable. There's not much new about it asides of the experiment setting. The "surprises" are rather obvious. The acting is fine, the characters cute. The story has a problem with time. As in: It's going to fast and jumping a lot to make it into the movie format. But it's quite nice if you don't expect it to throw it off your socks! You'll see a very normal Japanese school romance with the usual checklist *lol*. But again, it's nice! It's just not "WOW"!.
It's out there already (but with registration, so I'm waiting). So it's just a mtter of time now. :) Subs will…
Nowehe yet asides of that one site that you need to register to, which I don't feel comfortable to recommend. If you insist, just google "watch" and the Japanese title in latin letters. But I'm sure it'll be on the usual streaming sites within a reasonable time from now. You can check back here to see if people posted links, too.
Awww it's really sweet and adorable. The actors are really nice, too. Unfortunately they've very (typically Japanese) awkward about the kiss and contact scenes *lol* Sometimes just being odd because, well straight men. They're slacking in their acting there *lol* Sometimes they're coming at eachother a bit too roughly. But asides of these short moments where it's either funny or hard to watch them, the whole big rest is very very well made! A slow pace, little to no action. A beautiful flow.
I LOVED this! Ah, it's been a while I watched through a drama feeling this positive! They had the typical elements, but didn't overdo it. They showed the struggles but didn't overdo it. They steered around tragedies! The characters are so adorable. Keiko Matsusaka and Mirei Kiritani did SUCH an awesome job playing their shared role. Playing an older woman that is yound in heart without looking ridiculous even for a second and a yound woman playing an old soul such accurately, that I never thought "ah, now she's out of character!". They left her with her attributes to the end (like being clumsy with computer).
If I noted it down right, the DVD release date is 9th of May. It won't surface until a few day past that date and subs will take lots of time above of that.
m(_ _)m
It's "5 years ago, were were merely children, but as I spent time with XXXX, I've come to understand a bit what it means to be YYYYY" (again not adding the critical information to not spoil it).
It's currently saying: "During these 5 years we still didn't have ZZZZZ" X'D

Again, thank you for your reply!

It's all raw. Or rather, I think it's Indonesian subs or sth. similar?
*goes "Eh?" too*
XD
Looks like it could be funny!
I highly recommend to watch it.
