This the worst ending ever, it was her attitude from their first fight that split them up at the wedding, and…
EDIT: Oh no! :'D I'm sorry. Had I noticed before that your comment is two years old I would not have commented on it. Since you propaly don't even remember what you wrote! XDDD
I'll still leave it here as personal opinion for anyone who happens to watch after this.
======================
*pales* Selfish? I won't deny she's annoying but it he not just that? She knew but he knew, too. What's so selfish about wanting a relationship to start with? What's so selfish about wanting to gain a common ground and to work on things together? That, I don't quite understand. She has been chaising him and putting up with his quirks throughout most of the first movie. And ofcourse he put up with a share of her mess, too. At some point, any patience will run up if you keep straining and straining it. They both absolutely messed up. And they both concluded on having messed up. And they both had to learn that in real life love is not enough to run a relationship. Because love doesn't need a single thing, but relationship does need a whole lot of effort from both sides.
The one thing I was sighing over was that after being pushed away again and again she had to be the one running after him again. It's realistic, because for his own reasons he's someone who'll need a ton of support to manage such thing in such situation. But then again that just shows how much more she'll have to invest and stay open and endure to help him open up just another step. They just move a single step further at the end of the movie. How many more times do you think they'll have to go through this to get to a pont where they can hold a balance? *loooool*
Well, the truth is that they're likely to be one of those couples who end up separated due to sheer exhaustion after years. To then live apart for many more years still having feelings. And then either be left with regrets, or - if they so choose - a wonderful set of memories. Just in the veeery veery veeery best case they'd end up as the kind of couple which re-unites as old wiser people - who've grown out of the noise enough to spend a few happy last years together. :'D
This is not the end at all. This is only step 2 (ok, let it be 3)
On another note, I think you might have a different understanding of what happened at the wedding. Is it right to assume you don't speak Japanese and had to rely on subtitles? Feel free to correct me. It's just that I wonder what you perceived as taking place there.
Before you do, let me clear two points from the start:
1) I'm not picking a fight. I'm just very surprised about your reaction, although I'm not saying I don't know where you're coming from. I have a rough idea about that, but not more. 2) I'm not saying she's great or has not done anything wrong. They're both annoying and incredibly clumsy characters (and made that way). They constantly mess up but they're also adorable and get back on their feet. But I cannot say that any of them did better or worse throughout the movie! X'D It's more like either both or none of them are to blame.
H....hu? Slow pace? Boring? How did people watch? *lol* It's drama all over! :'D Sooooo stressful. Well, nothing else to be expected from such a job. About as close as you'll get before reaching "butler-stage" in service. This is fun. Hope it'll have calmer episodes, too, though. I was glad for the times she got to breathe or sit down to listen to her customers!
Miura Shohei absolutely surprised me. So far when I saw him he played the kind of man who's easy-going, has relaxed movements, a rather quiet voice and is constantly smiling even when it won't spread to his eyes. This time it's great to see him in an entirely different role. Neat, straight, sharp, elegant and cold. Perfect character to "warm up" at some point ;D. And maybe it's because he's talking in a scolding and strict tone, but his voice sounds deeper than I'm used to! Nice.
Hmm, I rather had the impression is was incredibly conflicted within himself. He neede long to figure himself out and then he surely had the more difficult role as the older and teacher part within that triangle. We also can't foget that Japan works differently with these things. They can be very extreme when it comes to blaming and bashing and so on :'D The group dynamics are quite something. So yeah, over there you need to think more than twice. Out of own expierence I can say that it can take time for a teacher to cross that line when they're very responsible. It would have required a more clever or enduring Suzume to be able to give him enough room to get there. In this setting they went for the way "easier" solution and nozhing can be said against it, really. Relationships with extra complications really aren't for anyone. They're very special expieriences holding the chance to skyrocket your growth as a person and mend a very close relationship IF you overcome the challenging parts. And it can skyrocket your growth even if it doesn't work out at some point. On the other hand it's a high-risk investment, so to say. :) So, it's good at least two of 3 found their way. Sazuki will have to be the adult, overcome this broken heart and hope he'll be granted another chance in life where he'll either not have the challange or be able to pull through. :'D Also, poor actor Shohei. I'm yet to see him in a drama where he does get the girl! (x_X)
Well that tends to happen when you condense a 70+ chapter story into a 2 hour movie. It's honestly one of the…
Yep, that's why I'm not surprised it turned out like this but also felt like a warning is in store for everyone who expects a full fledged movie because they don't know about the manga.
I guess it depends on if the movies are playing on TV or in cinimas overseas or not. And most of the times tgey don't. Ghibli productions made it into cinemas worldwide
Well in the movie they were there equally often. She loved him first she saw him when she saw the star, he's mature AND I like the actor. *Lol* So i would have preferred him but ofcourse it makes no sense to stick with a guy who'll let go of you although you didn't ask him to. And I like how he realised that himself in the end. So yep, we're just talking about tastes here. I simply prefer mature men, if it comes to the visuals. XD Then again in real life visuals are veeery far at the back of my lift of criteria. It's my movie preference, you could say?
Ah, I just re-watched it. I rarely do that and I really still like this movie. It's so wonderfully subtle! I love how it's often just quiet with no background music at all. Silence gives way for all other senses and impressions to sharpen. I like how the twists are realistically difficult but they're still not bathing in drama and tragedy. It's overall kept well within realistic boundries, that is, with the clear exception of that kiss in classroom *lol* I like how they solve it and how everybody deals with it (taken their charcter designs into account).
between 12 and 20 years ago, I would've echoed a lot of the comments here - how this movie is so cute and…
From a real-life experience: Even if it was dificult, even if it doesn't work out till eternity, it's entirely up to her and him how much this expierience has a positive impact on them as people. Ofcourse it's challenging, but having parents disagree isn't any less difficult. It being a work relationship won't be less challencing in many fields either. Age is the same excuse as religion, race or social status. Each of these have their own unique challanges attached. Having a manipulative boyfriend of the same age can turn out way more of a disaster. So basically, it's really all in our heads and there's a chance for tragedy in everything we do. Life is - simply speaking - a constant risk.
It's not about where and how people fall in love. It's about how they deal with it. And in each age group, each circumstances, there will be those who deal well with it and those who don't. And both is not bad, because looking back they can become precious expieriences, too. Ofcourse a relationship with age gap requires quite grown personalities. The way they dealed with it in this movie is very very well and that regardless of things not going smooth. Ofcourse a yet tad better solution could be for one to chance school in time. But then again it's not like that doesn't hold the chance of ruining a whole lot for both parties beyond the relationship.
It's simply not just a manga story XD It actually happens in real life. Because love doesn't care one bit for reasons. It's beyond reason, that's why it is what it is. And when it's a strong love, then getting in the way is about the most damaging and riskful thing you can probably do. If it involves people you truly love, we are to stay by their sides and be ready to catch them if they fall or struggle, like we would do with any other situation in lfe that a person has to figure out for themselves first (like a difficult job environment, like a problem with parents/siblings/kids, like a difficulty between any more "common" couple.). First of all it's a matter between the two people involved. And only if one or both of them starts openly struggling very hard, we are to offer help. And then again , we are to accept when our help is NOT accepted. Everyone has to take responsibility of his own life and live with the consequences anyways. And there's not quite an age limit to when a person starts getting capaple of making very grown up decisions (just as being adult unfortunately doesn't mean that a person has actually grown up X'D). All is to be decided one by one from case to case.
But that's my personal viewpoint, as I said, from real life expierience. I wanted to share this but I'm perfectly fine with leaving everyone with their own opinion. All the more since I'm in the lucky position to not be personally affected by it anyways ;P I might enjoy some nice chat though.
Is this related to the drama but in drama he has another girl
Yes the other one is the pre-quel tothis story. His early days before he met Yuni. Or s I read. I actually didn't watch it yet but that's what the summary said.
I don't know if I should watch it raw or wait for the subs...Hirunaka is one of my most dear mangas of all time…
I can recommend watching it RAW. You'll understand it perfectly even if you lack half of the vocabulary. They're good actors and their voices say a lot, their body language does. An if you know the manga, you do know the story by heart anyways. If it's really your favourite, you'll likely enjoy it enough to re-watch it anyways. Actually subs will distract you from the little details. So yeah, go for both if you have the choice! ;)
Japan *lol* Learn to do previews right please! And Openings and Endings. :'D They're not supppsed to show the whole story. Aahahaha well, guess it'll be worth to watch it to see the outcome, now that I've basically seen the rest of it! ;'P
Ahh mixed feeelings really. I forgot the manga and then remembered the whole mess. The movie is well made in terms of visuals, actors, music and quality. And I guess you can say they followed the original well. Too well, if you ask me. It's an assemply of the "emotional" scenes. But that just doesn't work well for movies. You need a flow to get into it, especially if you don't know the manga. The whole "inbetween" is missing. One setting comes after the other and it's like most of the emotional developement takes place somewhere unseen inbetween those scenes. Basically there's too much story to tell in just one movie. So they were a little doomed even before they started. This movie is a nice "extra" to go with the original and to give fans the whole thing in HD, but as a stand alone movie it's a pretty but chopped and rushed creation. Well, it could have been way worse, too, right? (^_~)
They actually did everything right. ou find me baffled. Because there's about a thousand points where many other dramas showed how it's NOT done. While this one showed how it IS done right. Right including the imperfect nature of humans, which is really great! It shows how surroundings SHOULD be supporting - which is thankfully already the case in our day and age, even if sadly far from always. Ofcourse their entering the relationship was overly rushed *lol* However, I can forgive that, because it's a movie with a limited screening time and it's hard to squeeze so much story in there.
Ah, I'm so happy! I went to work shining from within and making people stare a little at my cheerfulness X'D But I had a great day! Some people out there still know how to put the love (attempt) into focus. Ofcourse this movie shows just the begining and ofcourse they'd be facing a whole bunch of problems from then on, however, with a caring set of family ad friends, these two would actually have a chance to grow together a lot and find a way to enjoy a very long relationship (I don't ship the "always and forever". It's nice when it happens, but frankly speaking it defers the natural flow of a human's maturing process unless you've got two old souls involved)
Awesome. I want more of well-made and positive love stories with a minimum of drama, minimum of judgemental behaviour and next time they can even leave out the tragedy, for me at least :P!
Oh, did I mention how proud I am of Kouta for always calling back-up first? My mom watches a lot of crime series. In 90% of the cases she (and at times myself, when I watch along) is headdesking over some policeman/woman or detective paying the "hero" and not letting anybody know where they are, rushing in without back-up and so on. It's incredibly frustrating and immature (for it to happen all the time, always with the involved people escaping at the very last moment through nothing short of an miracle!).
I watched it. I enjoyed it, but the drama series had more Haruka-coolness. I have to say I like the drama better.…
@himuroyukina There are countries that do that? (°_°) What countries are those? It doesn't make sense at all! I mean, to release it at the same time doesn't make sense at all.
Please read the comments. All of the information is there already! ;-)
You usually don't get to watch the stuff before it's released on DVD and somebody subs it. Two comments below somebody said the DVD will be out on 18th of October. Hence, we'll get to see it sometime after that date. Maybe not too late after, since it's popular and translators will probably hurry to sub it.
I'll still leave it here as personal opinion for anyone who happens to watch after this.
