Itās a movie, not a historical documentary. You act like people do not have different accents even though they speak the same language. If youāre really from Hong Kong, youād actually explain what felt off instead of just throwing around āterrible cultural appropriationāā and not avoiding the question.
Right now it just sounds like big words without much substance behind them.

This is a low-budget drama, not a big production trying to pass itself off as the definitive portrayal of Hong Kong. lacking perfect accuracy doesnāt automatically equal disrespect or appropriation. not everything has to be 100% authentic to be valid or enjoyable.
Itās okay to notice the flaws, but itās also fair to view it within the limits they were working with and just enjoy it for what it is.
