The novel is CRAZY LIKE REALLY CRAZY😭😭I am used to it, i read a lot of dark and toxic bl manga and manhwa.

Morality police should consider touching grass just to confirm the real world is still running in parallel with their opinions.

To the people who do not know why Xiao Chen went back to Lu Feng:

The relationship between Xiao Chen and Lu Feng is toxic because it’s built on obsession, control, and repeated emotional harm. Lu Feng is very possessive and often ignores Xiao Chen’s consent and boundaries, while Xiao Chen gets trapped in a cycle of leaving and returning despite being hurt.

Xiao Chen goes back to Lu Feng mainly because of emotional attachment and the pull of their shared history, even after being hurt. He’s emotionally invested, remembers the good moments, and still feels a strong bond that’s hard to detach from. There’s also hope that Lu Feng might change, which keeps drawing him back despite the toxicity.

Some of us like enjoy messed-up BL stories. Lu Feng in the drama is possessive, obsessive, emotionally unstable, controlling, and often his own worst enemy.

He makes me angry, frustrates me to no end, and yet i still can't look away because he's such a fascinating trainwreck. (Not gonna lie, Lu Feng in the novel is messed up beyond the repair)

I absolutely love toxic, messy BL stories. For me, the appeal isn't that the characters are good people or that their actions are something to admire—it's that they're flawed, obsessive, emotionally damaged, and completely chaotic.

It's dramatic, intense, emotionally gripping, and far more interesting to me than watching perfect people in a perfectly healthy relationship.

Yi Chen perfected his role in double helix. I don’t know why some people do not like him. He nailed his character when you compare it to the novel.

There are people who said Ayden's acting in double helix was so much better compared to his previous dramas.

IKR! Lu Feng made us angry at him, but also made us cry for him at the same time.

The storyline is basically built around Lu Feng’s obsessive and toxic character—without that, the story wouldn’t really make sense.

What annoys me the most is that they will not watch other fluffy bls it is always the toxic ones they want to watch and when they do they complain. Imagine someone saying she is surprised we are giving it a high rating.

I also remember when Chinese bl started airing last year some Thai bl fans were just hating and saying Thai bls were superior, it was crazy especially people from that one particular Thai production company.

Haters can freaking take a chill pill.

Morally fragile viewers will literally see the content warnings, know a toxic BL contains SA, kidnapping, abuse, and all kinds of messed-up dynamics, and still press play. Then halfway through they act shocked that the toxic BL is toxic. If you already know those themes trigger you, why are you watching it in the first place? That part genuinely baffles me.

And no, what you do not get to do is turn around and tell those of us who enjoy dark or toxic BLs that we need therapy. Enjoying fictional stories with morally flawed characters doesn't mean we support those actions in real life. By that logic, people who watch serial killer movies, crime dramas, or psychological thrillers would all need therapy too.

Not every story is supposed to be healthy, educational, or a guide on how to behave in real life. Some stories are meant to be dark, messy, disturbing, and tragic. If that's not your thing, that's completely fine. But stop acting like people who enjoy fictional toxicity are somehow morally defective for understanding the difference between fiction and reality.

FREAKING STICK TO YOUR FLUFFY BLS, THE LORD KNOWS THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM OUT THERE AND LEAVE THE TOXIC ONES FOR US.

People rate shows for different reasons, though. If the acting, production, music, and overall execution are good, i'm absolutely going to give it a good rating, regardless of whether the story is toxic or not. Double Helix is a perfect example.

The relationship was toxic, but the acting was excellent, the soundtrack was beautiful, the production quality was impressive, and the story was engaging. A toxic plot doesn't automatically make a series bad. I rate based on how well a show achieves what it's trying to do, not on whether the characters are morally perfect.
