In the novel He Rufei's father and He Yan's father are brothers.
her whole family including her in laws were in cahoots to kill her. only her birth mum and her biological younger sister were innocent / not involved. just how that family is.
I watched up to 5 Eps. Honest opinion, this is so mulan coded, and I'm up for this, however I'm disappointed that…
give it time.. it is clear they are utilizing flashbacks like the novel - first min of the eps seems to be dedicated to that. won't be surprised if we get a full fledged episode covering the past later prior to a big reveal
Someone clarified it in the comments...... that scene when He Yan went to the battlefield with reinforcement,…
the biggest point missed is he yan nearly died (lie in corpse story) after running away from home and joining the army, but was rescued, healed and trained by her master bu ling wang for at least 6 months. her biggest improvements, and mannerism are from that period.
the whole "i give you this sword" drama sequence will undoubtedly challenge the narrative and believability as previously mentioned, XJ never meets HRF again after she runs away from home (iirc correctly they were class mates for 2y) until HRF's face reveal in front of the emperor.
HRF was never the reinforcement for Senior Xiao - she was a minnow then, and XJ was not a general - he only made a name of himself after taking back Xue City as revenge for his dad (and mum since she killed herself as a result of his defeat)
if i recall correctly it was a 5 year gap from HRF running away to join the army to the beginning of the novel
that is drama only. in the novel she was ambushed at home by her own family and servants 9m after she got blinded, and was held down and drowned in the lotus lake there
I literally logged in just to reply to u. Ok so shes not just a nobody recruit. The reason ML goes (which is explained…
yeah the book was more descriptive. HY will see ALL the wolves dead when she gets pulled up from the crevice. how else can the horse lazily trot through the forest
Did ML,'s mother commit suicide after his father was declared traitor?? It seems generals and their families had…
in the novel yes. likely the same as drama. Scarred ML - the sweet he gives FL in ep 1 was the final sweet made by his mum. ML actually dislikes sweet but always takes the sweets made by his mum
Can I ask about Chu Zhao? What is his motive? Or background?
drama already hint it different but he is the illegitimate son of Chu Lingfeng . Mum is a courtesan but died and he was brought back into the family but systematically bullied by the wife until the prime minister noticed him and accepted him as his final and youngest disciple, placing him under his protection.
near the end of the novel, it was revealed while the prime minister was grooming him to be a pawn he can use, he was also making use of the prime minister to advance his own means and usurp his power. The strategy gap of both him and the PM was being able to handle XJ and HY and basically chose the wrong (losing) side.
He was also smitten/greedy and wanted HY but in the end lost everything including his soulmate Ying Xiang. He was also married to Xu Ping Ting even though he did not love her but due to his machinations that she ended up as his concubine instead (and not primary wife) and was later written out of the story.
In the extra chapter HY (and XJ) runs into him 7 years later.
When you say rebirth, what exactly does that mean. In a chinese drama it either means, reincarnation, dying and…
in the novel - FL actually died for real - but her consciousness transmigrated to another girl also named He Yan who had just passed away (been a while but i think there was a small forward timeskip)
Please, who's more good at swordfighting between the ml and fl?
in the novel, the FL's martial arts were first instructed by ML then later by her master Liu Bu Wang (you see him in Ep 1 but reveal in novel was much later). FL started out weaker but after all her battle experience is still slightly below ML but showed marked improvement ( a key sparring sequence in novel that I hope will get adapted)
In order not to be outed as General Fei Hong, she also stayed away from using swords so that her swordplay is not recognized until a particular mission / battle where ML was not present, but he later found out.
to be evil.. HE is only if they adapt the epilogue and extra chapter. if they follow the novel up to 2nd last chapter - it might become separation with 10s screen time reunion lol. Reason being time skips before the epilogue chapter as well as the extra chapter
Transmigration??? Omg I didn't know it. The synopsis is confusing me
husband is not in the cast list so that whole part is likely gone. my gut feel is she gets ambushed and dump into river/sea to create the water phobia weakness that we see in trailers
i need to reread to get the exact chapter.. but it stands out because this is the scene that HY will always use to blackmail XJ everytime she is about to lose an argument - being the only person to have seen his birthmark at the waist
just how that family is.
