Just watched my frist show from Taiwan, Refresh Man, and it was pretty good. Well the second half at least. This girl reminded me a lot of the actress of hometown cha cha cha and oh my venus
Ep 12: after a fortune teller says they are a match in heaven (ep 11), they dream about their first kiss.Ep 17:…
Thanks so much. I would have dropped the show if it werent for your guide. I didnt like the episodes where he bullied her at all, but knowing when to expect those things kept me watching, and I liked the show once they were together. I wish I had such a guide for every romance I watch.
Just finished it. My opinion has 3 parts: - The start us aweful. Before they are together, caring for her on the background is no excuse for the amount of bullying and humiliation he puts her through. The first 9 episodes were not enjoyable for me. - When they get together it gets better. Gradually, since the start isnt very good either. But it gets better and by the time we also see her clearly in love, there are some good and enjoyable episodes. - The ending is the best part. It is cool, and it is beatiful.
This was my first show from Taiwan. From Asia I usually only watch korean dramas, and a few chinese ones. I must say, the quality of this one is on par with those, I was pleasently surprised. The voice sound was the only thing I think lacked a bit of quality, sometimes it sounded like they were talking from the other side of a room. But the acting, the visuals, the story (like it or not, just talking about quality), even the music, all very good.
So although I didnt like the bullying of the first 9 episodes, it was a nice discovery. It will make me try more shows from Taiwan
Hi!1. No explanation. This is the major flaw of this drama. The AI device doesn't make sense, actually. But it…
Your explanation of point 3 makes me feel a little better about the ending. I still think it was out of place though. You are sad, ok, but you know he should be even more sad, he told you many times you comfort him, he was already away from his past love for 10 years, and you have the guts to tell him you need time apart... Maybe under other circumstances, ok, but in this context I feel it's not a nice gesture towards him
Your comment almost made me not watch that drama, but I am glad I still watched it, because it's not really they…
All that friends with benefits is only true about the first part. When he comes back to her, he specifically says he has changed. And it is true. He now only wants to be with her. And she is starting to like him again. Everything was going perfect until the lie. Without that lie, everything bad that happens later wouldn't have happened. anybody wanting to be with her would have just said it was a lie. Even if it wasn't really cheating BC they were not yet together, he was trying to and only failed BC of that lie.
Theres no explanation other than the writers trying to create a problem without reason.
Many comments say that the show is supposed to show a toxic relationship. Well in that case they failed too because ML doesn't really look toxic, it's just some stupid missunderstanding
Just saw Im not a robot and A piece of your mind, and liked FL in both a lot. She creates such good chemistry with ML in both shows. Even before they fall in love, their chemistry is awesome. Then again I think both male leads were great in those shows too.
Just finshed it. Beautiful. What a lovely story. One of the best chemistries between leads... which is even more amazing since he starts madly in love with another girl. Incredibly how they manage to show this chemistry between the leads, without even showing kisses (except a small one once). And the chemistry starts the moment they meet, even while they arent in love yet
I liked it a lot. Amazing lead actors and the secondary ones were great too. Loved how the leads were always flawless with eachother.
The end wasnt very good tho, they tried too hard to revive the problem that was already solved 5 episodes ago, and it made no sense to me (dont worry, it's happy).
Like I say in my comment above, I love the show. But I got a few questions I didnt quite understand
1. Did they somehow explain how they manage to get the memories into the devices? I mean, behaviour, sure, but memories? Did they give any explanation, even a sci-fi one?
2. Did they explain why Ji Soo left ML 10 years ago? They clearly show how they were soulmates. Did they give an explanation or just because she suddenly wanted to marry the other guy?
3. Why did FL need that final sepparation time? I mean, from my point of view everything was fine, she started feeling sad for ML, because of what he discovered about his mother, and that saddness grew unitl she said she needed some time appart. So she feels sad for him and decides to leave him, after knowing he was sad for 10 years because another girl left him? Daaaaaamn girl.
Yes, it is very realistic that somebody lies to the girl you like saying you are in a relationship with another…
But why wouldn't anybody, be it a toxic person or not, that wants to be with her and can not only because she is running away because he cheated, not tell it was a lie ...?
Just finished it. I guess it's good. It kept me interested... even though I wasnt really likeing it. For a romance, this has no romance scenes at all. In 20 episodes theres like 4 barely romantic scenes of 30 seconds each. We just never see them together. So if that's what you're looking for, this show doesnt have it. But on a positive note, even I, who just wanted romance and didnt find it here, could enjoy the show. That means the show is pretty good.
you should have checked beforehand. its a remake of the taiwanese drama after all. it's not like they can change…
Well I'm not bashing this writers in particular, just whoever wrote this. It's even worse IMO because the first 10 episodes are very light-hearted and funny. And suddenly it turns into a melodrama...

I do a lot of research before starting a kdrama. But I obviously don't read the entire script. Many dramas have tragedies, which I try to avoid, but this one wins by far. Breakup because stupid reason + accident + loosing their child + she leaves with love triangle + timeskip.... Omg I wanted to kill the scriptwriters at that point...
Till episode 15 it is a 9.5 rating drama, and afterwards, it goes to 8, and if I include the ending, it is 7.…
Exactly. If this show would have continued at episode 15 how it was going, it would have been over 9.5 for me. But they decided to sabotage their own show. I gave it an 8 for the good first 15 episodes, but the taste it left for me at the end was lower
Not sure why this is classed as "healthy relationship", I'm eight episodes in and the ML has been nothing but…
I agree with you. The arguments other use is that he cares about her even if acting like that. I know that, but it is no excuse. Her father just died, she is loosing everything, and 100 other small bad things are happening to her. Treating her like that for 5 episodes is terrible. I think it is a good show, and I enjoyed some parts, but I hated episodes 2-7
Ok….I honestly enjoyed this a lot..was in my watchlist since god knows when but other dramas always took precedence…
Agree 100% with your review. While I loved the show, it's the last 4 episodes where all the awesomeness is. The love triangle plot, while not annoying as other love triangles since there was no jealousy involved, was far far too long. And those side stories you mention aren't very interesting
But the chemistry between the leads was awesome, and some of the scenes were so satisfying. Like the way their relationship becomes known to their friends. Or how he cares for her father in secret. Or when he hides in her closet. Those 4 episodes had more satisfying scenes than entire other romances
