The newest Meteor Garden is on my plan to watch list. The only one I have watched is BOF. It was good but I didn't go crazy for it. It has been so long, I think I could enjoy the storyline again as if it is the first time seeing it. If a drama is from a popular book/manga and the drama was popular, I don't see any reason not to remake it again. I happen to be obsessed with the Itazura Na Kiss series. I have watched every version (Miss In Kiss being the only one that I do not recommend). They were all (except for MIK) amazing and worth watching. Each had it's own charm/area that was better than the others. If I am like this, there must be some crazed fans of BOF remakes that need their next fix... so I am glad they are making a new one for those fans. No offense to you, it is just my pet peeve to see people complain about cliches, when they are watching romcoms; which is a genre that should be cliche, in my opinion. I need all of those adorable cliches. They are what made me fall in love with Korean Dramas to begin with. ... I see it as kind of like the people that go to the Rocky Horror Picture show to act it out. You are there just waiting for your chance to open your umbrella throw your toast. When I watch dramas, I am waiting for the accidental kiss, the back hug, the wrist grab, the jealous lead that doesn't realize he likes her yet... I happen to like the dynamic of Rich boy, Poor girl, but I have seen the same trope reversed and liked it. To me, it doesn't make a difference, as long as they make the female character likable. The problem with reversing this trope is that I sometimes have a hard time getting behind the ship for these relationships even when it is an attractive guy who had some childhood trauma, after he has been a 0!$ for the whole first 6-8 episodes.(Lee Seung Gi as Sun Woo Hwang in Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance). If it were a hateful female character, I don't know if I would appreciate her "changing for love" enough to ship her with our sweet poor leading man. My personal favorite trope is Contract Love/Cohabitation. For some reason, I love to see people in fake relationships fall in love for real. I have no idea why, but clearly, I am not the only one. Gender Benders I can take or leave, but there is a cliche in this type that I love. I love when the guy, who is other wise straight, falls for the lead, thinking she is a boy. He then questions his sexual orientation... and decides love is love and takes the plunge. My all time fav confession scene is This one from Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, where Kim Yoo-jung playing a girl disguised as a Eunuch, tries to discourage the prince played by Park Bo Gum from confessing by telling him but I'm a man and there is a good love and a bad love... no one will bless this. Then he answers with an amazing delivery of the line "However, I plan to do it. That Bad Love". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6r2kKbINhE
have you watched the first 2 episodes? If it is bothering you that people are saying how much they loved Soo Ji,…
exactly, so where are the "constant " comments that complain about Dae Young being a player since the drama started airing? I only see people complaining about people supposedly having a problem with it for the last week... Otherwise, there is one distraught girl posting after Soo Ji's death was aired, one Soo Kyung fan being funny. oh, here we go, I found one. It was also the day of first ep airing... Green_tokki saying she tired of seeing him with different girls hope he will be married with kids in next drama? She does say she is tired of different girls, but also said she wants to see him married in next one... That is what you are calling constant complaints? That one comment? Sheesh.
For me the romantic relationship(s) are not pivotal in the Let's Eat series. This drama is about the food, quirky…
Without spoiling it, just know that there is a reason for people to be emotional and you will find out after you finish ep. 2. btw, the reason people do not expect James Bond to stay with a lady is because he is a spy in a spy/action genre film. We expect tuxedos, sex, and him to leave on another mysterious mission. Is he having romances? I thought he was just having a string of sexual encounters with attractive women while using them for his job. I will agree that the Let's Eat series has much more to offer than the romance. However, this series is still being promoted as being a romcom, so people expect comedy and romance. It is a great compliment to the writers and actors if people are shipping and missing past seasons characters. The people that truly love the series will continue to watch and fall in love with this seasons characters too, because the makers of this series know how to develop a character and tell a story!
why are people like this and write hateful messages just because there is another girl? I mean yeah I liked the…
are you referring to Irusu saying "soo ji was the best wtf i actually hate this drama." I just assumed that was grief talking. I know episode 2 destroyed me. I have watched season 2 at least 5 times. I am so attached to Soo Ji, I was depressed the whole next day. It is a week later and I am still feeling sad. I won't be able to watch season 2 again, for a long time. It went from being light and funny with a cute romance that cheers me up to being tragic love story that I will probably sob during. I am also really attached to Dae Young, so I am especially going to be rooting for him to find someone special in this season, now that I know why he is heartbroken and lonely.
have you watched the first 2 episodes? If it is bothering you that people are saying how much they loved Soo Ji,…
Since episode 2 aired, where are all of these "constant complaints" that are sad about Soo Ji dying? Clearly you are talking about those, or you would not have used the word "constant..." as in still going on.
Are we ready? Episode 2 destroyed me. I was heartbroken for days. Thank goodness for my current fluff drama(Sweet Dreams) cheering me up. There has been a lot of focus on his college guy friends in the flash backs. I wonder if they will pop up in present day too. There are usually a good amount of interesting side characters in these. Season one had the lead couple plus 5 other great characters including a very lovable 2nd lead actor. Season 2 had the main couple plus 7 great characters including an even more lovable 2nd lead actor.
Most people watch romcoms for the happily ever after. In the same way sports fans root for their favorite athlete…
Becoming attached to a beloved character and rooting for happy endings do not make some one Narrow minded. I don't think people have "a problem" with him being with someone else as much as they are so attached to the characters that they want it to work out. Plus, this is not "real life" we are talking about. If you think romcoms should be realistic, I think it is you that have wandered into the wrong convo, because happy endings are a vital part of romcoms.
do people really have problems about different girls each season? lmao
Most people watch romcoms for the happily ever after. In the same way sports fans root for their favorite athlete or sports team, romcom fans root for the Lead couple. Just imagine, your favorite athlete won the gold medal, but later there was evidence of steroid use and his medal was stripped from him. How much rewatch value is there of his "victory" when you find out it was all a lie. Or imagine what it would feel like watching the quarterback of your favorite team after he has started playing for your rivals. It is kind of like that, watching him "fall in love" with someone else, after believing he belonged with the first one.
Is it really necessary to kill Soo Ji to end their relationship? Can't the writers just make them break up or…
IKR. Season 2 had become a go to rewatch, when I needed a light romance for a pick me up. I doubt that I will ever be able to rewatch it happily again. I think it might make me sad to know that she dies soon after they fall in love.
soo ji was the best wtf i actually hate this drama
I am not at hate this drama level, because I still love the things about the series in general that I liked before. ... But Holy Cow. I spent all last season falling in love with Soo Ji and starting to feel like her character is an old friend. I feel genuinely sad.
So let me get this right this guy falls in love with a new girl every season? What happens to his exes and what’s…
It isn't as bad as it sounds. Ship the friendships. They are great. The lead character sells insurance for his job, writes a food blog, and is a long time single that lives alone. He is quirky, friendly, and passionate about food. The food scenes are lovely propaganda for Korean food. There has been a side story-line that is a mystery in each. The side characters are colorful. In season 1, it starts with Soo Kyung , and Goo Dae Young living next door to each other and one of their neighbors die. The new tenant befriends them both and the 3 start eating together for convenience and end up helping each other through various things. The romantic story line is cute but the other relationships and friendships in this were worth watching it for. In season 2 Goo Dae Young moves to the country after legal/work setbacks. They do not tell you exactly why the couple broke up, but suggest the reason was juicy gossip. He eats with and gets close to people in his new building, including Soo Ji. I really love the romantic story line in the this one. The Bromance in this one is also very good. In season 3 he has a reason to move again. He bumps into his college days next door neighbor(this is the person that influenced his foodie ways). Deciding an old friend is exactly what he needs to help him get out of the funk he is in, he rents a place in the building across from her. The jury is still out on this one, since I have only seen two episodes. There is a good nostalgic vibe to this one, that is reminding me of Reply 1988 (although these flash backs are to 2004). I am definitely going to continue to watch it.
do i need to have seen the first two to understand this or am i okay? I know series like Reply or School (Insert…
You definitely don't have to watch the last two to pick up what is going on in this one. They are stand alone stories. The only thing they have in common is the lead character. There will be cameos of character from past seasons but I think they will explain who they are, if it effects the storyline.
They should have stopped at season 1, yet this boring and pointless drama is getting another sequel? I seriously…
If it is so boring and pointless, why would you bother coming to this page to look at the details. lol. It must have some appeal to bring you hear. I would hope you didn't seek the page out just to be a troll/wet blanket. Both Season 1 and Season 2 have their charms. I think Season 1 had a better mystery, I hope Season 3 could improve on that. Season 2 had a much better romance. I love learning about Korean foods. I comedic characters have been great in this series as well.
