For me the plot and the direction and obviously the cinematography is just chef's kiss. I am not a fan of good…
So what’s the issue then? Does a female police theme irks you that much? I’m not sure what your tastes are, but if the drama isn’t your vibe, just don’t watch it. Why waste your time on something you don’t connect with? It’s really that simple you know!
Same tho I gave it 2 and a half eps. I'm disappointed as trailer looked exciting but nothing caught my attention…
Then you really shouldn’t be visiting drama pages that are written by Wei Yu or adapted from her work in the first place. It saves you the annoyance, and it saves everyone else from unnecessary drama.
What you think doesn’t really matter, dear. Everyone has their own preferences, and I genuinely enjoy Wei Yu’s work. If you don’t like it, that’s completely your call. Also just a little advice- if her style isn’t your thing, then this drama honestly isn’t for you. And if you’re not even watching the drama, instead of writing trash here, maybe head over to the page of the drama you actually enjoy and socialize with people there, tbh no need to troll around here.

The theme wasn’t even focused on any feminist agenda. It was way beyond that. I really hope you’ll share your thoughts after watching the whole damn thing.

People have their own preferences, you know? Some like romcoms, some are into thrillers, some love sci-fi. Everyone’s different, so their tastes are different too. I hope I explained it simply enough to make it clearer for you.
I want to share my thoughts as someone who’s been an avid follower of Wei Yu’s works.
Firstly, for anyone feeling the plot is slow just give it some time. The characters need time to grow, and if everything was at climax level from the start, it wouldn’t be interesting at all. The novel was like fine wine and it had us tipsy for a long time. You’ll definitely fall for NJL and YT once the story really starts unfolding. Secondly, for those saying NJL feels a bit different from the novel that’s mainly because the drama added all the flashbacks upfront, while in the novel her POV came much later. The story is still moving at the right rhythm, so try to feel the flow instead of watching just to nitpick. And honestly, if you’re into super fast paced dramas, then wait until at least episodes 10–15. By then, the interesting arcs will already be happening.
First episode. Nice cinematography, not a particular fan of either Dilraba or CXX (don't care about either of…
Plot takes time to build. If you’ve watched wei yu’s works before, you already know she develops her stories slowly and steadily, taking her time with the characters and the overall arc. So it’s fine if it’s not your COT but every story has a climax and because it is a climax, they’re obviously not going to drop all the exciting stuff at once.
Lol, I basically wrote the same thing below, so forgive me for not rewriting it all over again. But yeah, that’s my response. And you’re totally welcome to follow the drama once it reaches the episodes where the real story starts unfolding.

Guys, certain actresses and their so called fandoms have seriously teamed up to mess with LOTL’s popularity. They’re buying negative articles, negative weibo trends, and even comparing their drama to baobei’s newly released one. Their fandom will probably try to create chaos internationally too, so stay alert and don’t fall for their trap. Let them bark if they want, just don’t give them engagement. Also try to put positive words here and there, but don’t waste your energy arguing with haters if you can, make more tiktok, reels and youtube shorts of LOTL. Use trending sounds and whatever’s trending so it reaches the general audience. Tbh, I never really cared about those dumb actresses, but this time they’re doing way too much, and it’s honestly making me angry. Why can’t they just live their own lives and focus on their own work? What’s with this obsession with Baobei?? Long story short, they’re trying to ride Baba’s popularity, so don’t let them have that.
This feeling of falling in love again is honestly so good. I never thought I’d fall twice for NJL, but here I am. She was aloof and beautiful in the book, yet on screen she’s just so freaking gorgeous and awesome. Watching her in the live adaptation, with Dilraba playing NJL, really is a chef’s kiss. So many readers already pictured dilraba as NJL, so seeing her officially take that role made us all genuinely happy. And YT… seriously, how handsome can one person be? Unlike dilraba, readers had all kinds of different faces in mind for YT like XZ, DY even YY but CXX showed up and proved everyone wrong because he really is YT in every way. And then ZL… she is truly LXR. Cunningly beautiful, manipulative, a true evil and ZL she pulls it off so naturally. ZL is honestly such an incredible actor.
The sets, the locations, the vibe, the casting the entire aesthetic everything from the book truly came to life. Hats off to Tian Li, you’re really a man of your word. Thank you for creating such a great live adaptation. It genuinely feels like a masterpiece.
What's wrong with the FLs face, did she have some botched cosmetic surgery?
NJL was shown as beautiful and fierce in the book, and they really brought that to life. Her clothes, styling, and makeup all feel exactly like the NJL you imagine while reading.
