here are the hints I got from the interviews. I believe it wasn't intentional and they didn't aware of what they were saying. it could be spoilers from the novel or maybe not.
disclaimer: I don't read the novel. and my theory is not influenced by it. there's a chance that I got it wrong. and read at your own risk.
so apparently he's gonna suspect baek saeon, thinking he was the boy he used to play with.
that's it! I wasn't sure before what words he highlighted, but when you said he say the kid's eyes that makes a perfect sense now. wahh!!! I guess you're right then. when he knew the kid's identity, he'd know that baek saeon is not baek saeon.
the hierarchy order of their parents looked like this from the bottom to the top:heeju's mom -> saeon's dad -…
that makes me think that all this time baek saeon felt like he was outsmarting everyone by got them thinking that he was taken heeju as the hostage for proposing the marriage.
but what if that was all heeju's step father plan too?
I was wondering why he's keeping heeju and his mom around. I know someone else was responsible for the accident. but knowing his temper, he should blame it on heeju's mom too, shouldn't he? he didn't seem to respect her either.
baek's family looked like they did something awful to heeju's dad that deserved a death punishment. something that everyone else don't aware except for mr. hong himself and saeon's grandpa.
I suppose from then on, since the leads were young, he already saw the bigger picture of how to use his step daughter and baek's family fortune for his company's sake to make it even. and after getting cornered, baek saeon happened to propose the deal in his place. it was all mr. hong's master plan to make heeju marrying saeon. even if saeon didn't say anything back then hong il gyeong would be the one to drop heeju's name anyway.
but do I think that he's the mastermind of the kidnapper? definitely no. if anything should be the one who wanted the marriage to last other than saju and her mom. because that's how he can prevent his biological daughter to get involved with baek's family affair.
I see. that makes sense. I don't watch UF because I don't wanna be the victim of ktruma lol. the synopsis is already telling it all π to have the gut watching it is very brave.
I was considering to watch duty after school tho lol
Not on SBS channel, guests are praising MBC drama for being most watched show right now even internationally π«’π«’π€ͺThat…
jtbc channel k content voyage also recently released an old video when he was promoting his movie on their show and "when the phone rings" is on the title π
so as I'm late i completed 8 episodes last night..do you think park do jae is sus? i mean the kidnapper said to…
yes the one who pushed heeju is clearly him. we don't see anyone else near her but him. it was his hand. we can see the culprit's hand who pushed heeju has a mole. and someone posted that pjd has the same mole.
plus the kidnapper said to his master that he was the one who made her fall. so that makes pjd the master he was communicating on the phone with.
baek saeon is the master of literal reading into the lines lol. maybe they've done it countless times that he's able to read her text from a weird angle. he has the ability to comprehend it even when she hasn't finished her typing lol.
but when I think about it, it's brilliant for the writer to make his character as an ex news anchor. it was his job to read the floating texts in a flash. so he must have a fast reading pace and reading comprehension. sometimes I feel like heeju just flashed her phone in front of him for a few seconds and he could read all that.
love the analogy: news anchor, reading the lines.
in case anyone's wondering if it's possible. realistically it is, because he's a former news anchor.
I don't know the training system to become a news anchor, but when I was in middle school our teacher trained us to enhance our reading speed. we had to read a certain text and to monitor how many words per minute we were able to read within the specified time. and did it repeatedly. I suppose the discipline to become a professional should be more than that. and if you do that almost every day, that's possible to read a text in a quick second.
edit: just did a quick search and a pro news anchor has around 150 - 175 wpm.
let's assume that heeju said two sentences in a text and per sentence has an average of 7 words. just to make it easy to count, let's say baek saeon's average speed is 120 wpm. that makes two words per second. then it'll take him 7 seconds to read her text.
and for the record, heeju doesn't always say something that much.

heeju's mom -> saeon's dad - > saeon's mom -> heeju's step father
hhj: *post a thirst trap* have you seen hhj's xxxxxxxx?

it's interesting everything's starting to be revealed one by one.
